Disappointed in this dryer. I have king size bed doona covers, and it takes more than 2 hours to dry it. I don’t put anything else in with it and I untangle it every 30 minutes. Extremely annoying and very disappointing.

Update 24th April 2026: Note well that I have two of these, identical model. They have a design flaw. The company offered me a store credit on both, however I decided to keep them, as I have decent workaround for the design flaw. I'll explain. When you close the door to this model dryer, if you press button to start within say two seconds, instead of starting, the dryer MAY complain "door" on its led screen. As if the door isn't closed. If you at this time press start button again, it will start normally. Sometimes, you can close the door and press start in less than a half second, and it will work. Sometimes, you can wait 2 seconds, press start and it will not start, it will say "door" instead. So it has a problem, and this problem is flakey. The obvious workaround is observe whether dryer starts, and if it says "door" on LED screen, just press start button again. Another workaround is to wait at least 3 seconds before starting. Other than this issue, I really like these dryers. I also have an electrolux dryer, quite similar, the Haier is slightly cheaper and takes a little longer to dry similar loads, however it uses slightly less power as well. Haier comes with flexible exhause tube, and I use this on both Haier dryers, with bluetooth humidity sensor in each exhaust pipe, which I monitor from my phone. Watch our for an updated Haier 7KG dryer with the above issue fixed.

I'm aware that some companies, on seeing very favourable reviews for their product, increase prices. That's why when I find something I consider well above average, before reviewing, I consider whether I want to buy more, while the price is still low. And that's why I bought a second unit after just a couple of days of buying the first. I've had electrolux 7KG vented dryers before, and retain one of them. I don't think there is much wrong with the Electrolux, however the Haier dries slightly faster, is quieter when you use the included exhause hose kit, arguably better controls, and for the price of the Electrolux alone, I bought the Haier dryer with 5 year extended warranty!

The only possible area that I can see could stand improving in next model from Haier, is to increase the size of the lint filter. It's significantly smaller than the Electrolux lint filter. Whether this becomes a problem I'm yet to find out. But I do use it daily, and typically clean lint filter at least before first load daily, and at times between subsequent loads.

I'm actually very pleased with a custom setup and have pleasure in revealing how you can set it up. First, the problem is that especially with multiple driers, I like to tumble for as long as I consider is needed, and not much more. I know that these driers can "autosense", but I'm a bit more fussy, I prefer to monitor and change loads at times that depend on what type of item or items are being dried. Bedding that I'm just about to fit to bed, I like VERY dry. Towels I'm not so fussy about. So, consider that the air being vented from a vented dryer has warm from the heater element, and humid due to moisture in whatever items are being tumbled. If you buy model TP359 Thermopro humidity / temperature sensor and place one of these within the exhause air, it can via bluetooth give near real time chart of how the drying process is proceeding. Another sensor you might consider is Inkbird CO2/humidity/temperature/barometric pressure bluetooth sensor. I have a number of both these models, so I can recommend both. If as you see in photos below the humidity/temperature sensor is within the exhause pipe, it will sense humidity and temperature more completely compared to simply placing near exhause vent, which is partly sensing ambient humidity / temperature. I have 2 setup one way, and due to not having an additional exhause pipe, one is the simple setup. The Thermopro sensor has alarms in case you want to be notified when for example humidity reaches some user preset level, however I tend to do everything case by case, and instead use multiple timers on my Garmin Fenix 8 watch, which nags me when it's time to check on something. Things to check include checking dryness of exhaust air in all 3 tumble dryers, as well as things like next laundry load should be completed, breakfast sausages should be turned now etc. If you don't think you need nagging, it's likely you are much younger than me. Just remember what I suggested in a few decades :)

One of my Electrolux vented dryers was damaged when I applied pressure on the lid above the door catch. From that point onwards, the dryer randomly stopped, thinking the door was open. It was over five years old, so no big deal and it's gone now. I'm very happy with the Haier dryers and would check Haier first when time comes to buy another.

Some people think condensor type dryers are better. I had one, paid absolutely heaps, got very poor performance and was glad when it was replaced by vented dryer. Theoretically heat pump type dryers are more efficient. My experience and the experience of others in my extended family, is that they take much longer, are not reliable, and you end up replacing with vented dryer anyways out of frustration. Oh, if you're thinking it costs me a lot to run 3 dryers daily, think again. I'm in credit with my electricity retailer due to having solar generation and batteries. It does help also that I'm with OVO energy, and have plan with three free hours of power daily (11AM to 2PM). Thus, on overcast days, I do my drying during these times. On sunny days, anytime from around 7AM to 4PM works I'm still left with full battery when sun disappears to get me through the night.

I have bought Haier dryers thus far from Appliances Online. They were awesome too!

Follow-up  · The exhaust pipe supplied is highly telescopic, meaning that just by stretching, it can be many times longer, also giving it ability to cope with shallow curves. Both Heier units are performing well, both using exhaust pipe kits, both used around six days per week. The lint filters are coping quite well, no problem with them at all. One minor issue is that unless one has great eyesight and with lots of ambient lighting, it's difficult to quickly find the start/stop button. This button is dark colored on a dark background, with very little tactile feel, so it's near impossible to either find it visually or even by feel. It's not something that would stop me from buying same brand again, more a strong suggestion to manufacturers to do better with next release. Another minor issue, one that possibly could grow in future is that sometimes when you close the door, unit refuses to work, reporting "door open". If I open door again and shut it harder, it usually is able to be started. Looks like either misalignment or reliability issue, again something that Haier should try to do better next release.

After 5 years, our Simpson clothes dryer gave it up. Attempted to replace what was seemed to be the faulty part but still no joy. The semi computerised design of the dryer made it impossible to repair. Having come to accept that there is no real benefit paying large amouts for any white goods any longer (we expect to replace any washer or dryer every 5 years) replaced it with this Haier model. Have had it for 6 months now and no complaints. More drying options than the Simpson, fairly energy efficient for a front load drum dryer. Larger / better venting and fluff removal. While I would prefer not to buy Chinese whitegoods, there is not many options as even models such as Fisher & Paykel are now made in China.
