Hello- would not recommend.. I have provided photos of machine leaking multiple times.. had 2 -4 technicians come out but they can’t find the fault.. I was then asked to film the machine leaking .. literally asking me to stand by machine and see if it leaks.. dissatisfied customer service from Haier…

Reliable and perfect after sale services – After almost two years the seal was leaking and I called the service centre, they sent a technician in three days and fixed it without any problem, which is better than I expected (some factories only give a one year warranty and cannot send a technician on site, and the leak was due to my fault of pulling a stuck cloth too hard). The machine is very quiet and everything works perfectly. Show details

So very happy – Plenty of useful program options with easy to follow controls. Washes incredibly well and cycle times are reasonable. Auto dosing is a nice feature to compliment the auto load sensing. We are very happy with the generous 10kg capacity. The manual is easy to follow and explains all functions well. Show details

Washing Machine Technology is Advancing – Let’s start with the positive; it cleans well, looks modern and seems to be well-made. I opted for the 10kg size which is a great size for a family of four adults. UV light to kill bacteria in your wash is a great idea, especially during a Covid pandemic. I have used it several times, especially when washing face masks. But I can also see that… Read more

it would be very useful in other situations such as in cold/flu season or even a gastro outbreak when you really want to eradicate germs.

The refresh cycle is a nice feature, perfect for times when you want to freshen up an item of clothing you’ve worn once or twice but don’t see the need for a full wash. However, I didn’t notice a huge reduction in creases.

Auto-dosing is only available for liquid detergent, not powder. So, my question is: if I put in 750ml of liquid detergent and then want to use powder for a cycle, will the machine end up using both lots of detergent?

An option for 'delayed start' is something I used frequently. However, it doesn't exist on this machine (it is briefly mentioned on P17 of the manual) but there isn’t one. Thought the app might have brought this functionality to the machine but it doesn't.

The audible beep when changing cycles/settings is quite loud, you can turn it off but ideally it would be nice to have a low/medium/high setting. By turning off the beeps it also turns off the tune at the end to let you know the cycle has completed. I think that should have been independent of the beeps for changing cycles and functions.

The app is very limited (and not per the manual). You need to download Smart HQ. It tells you how many washes you have done and has a countdown timer. You can't control the machine or its functions unless you are standing next to the machine and have just configured your wash cycle - then you can press 'start' on the app. You can't configure your settings on the machine first, walk away for even 5 minutes to let your pre-stain treatment work and then use the app to start it because after 2 minutes of inactivity the machine turns off. Then when you use the app to say 'Start Now' it tells you to go to the machine and configure it (see pic). The only thing that it does do that I really find useful is that it notifies me of when my washing is finished! Although, it’s not accurate.

I liked the idea of a light inside the drum when the wash cycle ends but it's only on when it initially finishes. It isn't activated by opening the door, so it doesn't turn back on when you come back to unload the machine 10 minutes later. You need to be there as soon as the cycle finishes otherwise you need to power up the machine for the light to come back on.

Dual spray nozzles to clean the door and rubber seals at the end of your wash is a great function, except I have twice encountered sludge/gunk on the door and rubber gasket whilst washing my son's work gear (pics attached) so it didn’t actually clean away the residue very well.

You can change default settings on the machine for each individual programme and save them, but you can't see at a glance what you've changed. You need to press on the function, e.g., spin speed or temperature to see what value you have saved. Would have preferred a display showing all of the set values all of the time.

'Downloaded' cycle? No explanation of what this is anywhere. A definite oversight to add this option on the machine when there is no information about it at all. It's listed in the manual as a programme, but you can't add any type of detergent!

Although minor, it would be good to have an 'everyday/mixed' wash. Not sure whether to wash t-shirts, hoodies and sweats as 'cottons' or 'synthetics' (the manual mentions an everyday wash but again, this doesn't exist)

Things that I think were overlooked on this machine are a ‘rinse’ cycle and a ‘delay start’ option. I also noticed that when the machine was out of level, it couldn’t correct itself. I had to manually intervene and rearrange all the wet towels. My previous washer had an inbuilt auto levelling feature.

I know I’m being picky, but the manual needs improving. It has a lot of spelling mistakes, bad grammar and wrong information (e.g., Wi-Fi connection and remote mode) and interestingly 'installation procedure' starts on page 26 of the manual. ‘Before first use’ is a small paragraph on page 17 under 'Odour removal' so I missed that step.

Overall, it is a very good washing machine but there is room for improvement and perhaps being Wi-Fi connected there is scope for new things to be added. I can’t fault its main purpose of cleaning clothes (because it did this very well) but there are some things I’ve found with this product that just don’t seem well implemented.

Intelligent and Intuitive – When I first received this machine I thought I'd never be able to use it. It's got so many functions my 12 year old Miele didn't have. I also thought I'd need to get my son up to connect it to wifi. I didn't. On this though, don't use the manual. It only has instructions for setting up air conditioning. You need to download the SMARTHQ APP.… Read more ·  1

However, I will say, I'm older and after a couple of days, I really had this machine worked out. It really is quite intuitive to use.

Wifi was a function I first thought - why would you need wifi on a washing machine. But hey! I wanted to try all the functions so I set it up and quickly realised it really has its benefits for working mums/dads. You can put the washing into the machine, close the door, select the program you want and walk away. Then before you leave work you can start the machine up from the app. By the time you get home, your washing is all done and ready to pop into the dryer. A real time saver for busy working people, or anyone who is out for the day and doesn't have time to wait for a load to finish before you leave, you can set it up and then start it from your phone so it's finished by the time you get home. No wet laundry sitting damp in the machine for hours. Very handy function. The app only lets you start the machine you cannot select programs from it so everything has to be set on the machine before you leave. As far as timing goes I love the way as you are scrolling through to select the program you want, it gives you the length of time the each program will take, so no guesswork there.

I don't like the manual that comes with it. The instructions for DAILY USE are on age 14 of a 31 page manual. And on page 17 second paragraph from the bottom it suggests before first use, to remove any odours run the machine without a load on Cotton 90 degrees 600rpm spin. Tucking that away in the middle of the manual isn't helpful. However, my machine was perfect, no odour at all to begin with. But I'd done a few loads working through the earlier pages of the manual before I came across that. MY FAULT I think the only page on that manual l didn't read was page 3 "the content" where it does tell you Daily use is on page 14.

Auto dosing is a function that I will no longer live without. I love it. It's saved me heaps on detergent. 750ml liquid detergent got me through 46 washes. The washing is certainly coming out cleaner than my old Miele too.

Page 12 of the manual tells you what the maxium load is per program, as well as the preset temperature, spin speed and the auto functions that program has. I found that particularly helpful. However, a feature I love is as well a being able to manually change the temp/spin speed, you can select a program you like, set the spin/temp you prefer, and lock that in. That way you don't have to keep manually changing the temp or spin speed each time you use that program. The maximum spin speed however is 1400rpm. My daughter has a Bosch and that can spin up to 1600 revs. I love that on hers as the washing comes out super dry. I think the Haeir could spin dry a little better than it does. But overall it's not an issue.

What is an issue for me though is. When I first started using it I'd sometimes forget to change the preset spin speed. When I selected the spin cycle to spin them again, the machine first lets in a small amount of water. A similar amount to what it lets in when you use the refresh cycle. I really hate that. If I want to give the clothes an extra spin to dry them out more - adding water to the spin defeats the purpose.

The Refresh cycle is great, I do love that. I had a coat in the wardrobe that I had folded up. The coat was naturally creased. I ran it through the refresh cycle and hung it up - came out. beautiful. So I'm really happy with that. I also ran my grandson's wool school jumper that has been sitting in the bottom of his school bag (never worn since it's last wash apparently) but creased like crumpled up paper. Again running it through the refresh cycle and hanging it up brought it back to life. No ironing or re-washing needed.

This morning I washed my sneakers in it. They've come out beautifully and there wasn't the thumping around I get in my Miele, so again very happy with that. And the 15 minute cycle is brilliant for my microfibre cleaning cloths.

In around two weeks I've certainly put this poor machine through it's paces. As there are only two of us here and I really wanted to give it a good test I have been driving to my daughter's (she's in my 5km limit luckily), picking up her washing that she pops out the front as I'm coming down her street and I've been doing her washing too. There are 6 of them in that household. 4 of them little boys. Hence the amout of loads I've done in the last couple of weeks. There hasn't been one day the machine hasn't been used It's gone through every single fabric from silk, satin, wool, denim, cotton, towels etc.., and has even beautifully cleaned 3 doonas from wet beds that a couple of the young ones had. They came out very clean and odour free. There is a UV Sanitise function on this machine. So perhaps that really did contribute to removing the odour from the doonas, because as I said they did come out odour free and clean in one wash,

I have given this machine a fair test I think, more than fair, I feel l feel sorry for it :). Overall I love it. I'd highly recommend it , it has been faultless . Also, I was highly impressed with Haeir Customer Support. I rang them to ask about this water coming into the machine on the extra spin program that I'd used and they were so helpful, quick to answer the phone too. The lady who answered couldn't help me. But she did't say....I don't know sorry. And that was that. She said I don't know. Let me check with our technical team. That's customer service.

My only dislikes as I said. The Manual, the water coming in on the spin cycle, and the maxium spin speed of 1400rpm. But definately a great machine. Photo 1 the programs Photo 2 The App and photo 3 the Haeir HWF10AN1 Front loader.

Innovation in washing machines world at affordable price point – In the last 30 years or so we all witnessed huge advances in household appliances tech. While some of the changes were evolutionary some of them were truly revolutionary. Let's start quickly by unpacking that so we can truly appreciate what Haier HWF10AN1 10kg Front Loader brings to us. In my books all evolutionary changes would comprise features… Read more

that make our lives more convenient, but not changing the fundamentals of operation. For example, bigger washing loads, add garment, inverter motor, auto dosing, even WiFi connectivity I would class as an evolutionary advance. Haier HWF10AN1 10kg Front Loader brings to us something new, something that many of us may not even appreciate initially or even take for granted. But trust me, if this innovation works, it is revolutionary and should change the general perception of hygienic clothes wash in cold water. The feature is UV light antibacterial wash treatment. The UV light meant to kill most of the bacteria in a wash. While sounds underwhelming, this is something that detergents are not doing too well while polluting the environment. Detergents are great at washing stains, give our washing more pleasant odour, but they’re not good for bacterial cleaning. Why is it so important? Because it is very hard to wash well all fabrics, especially polyester, after they have been exposed to a sweat. Kids sport clothes, uniforms, gym clothes etc. Until now we wasted a lot of energy to heat up the washing load (up to 90C), we polluted the environment while adding more detergent and we aged our clothes prematurely by not being gentle on them. All of that not necessarily ended up with the outcome we were trying to achieve - clean, nice smelling clothes (or perhaps just not smelling like they have not been washed). I'm so excited about the UV light antibacterial treatment in the washing machine. I did a couple of kids sports and my gym clothes wash with minimal detergent and UV light on and all smelly clothes no more after the quick one hour wash - amazing! As for other aspects of the Haier HWF10AN1 10kg Front Loader it not only does what it is supposed to do, but does it very well. The inverter motor ensures quietness of operation, liquid soap auto dosing works well in combination with UV light (need to enable it on every wash but Sensitive setting - as it is not default setting. Why Haier, why?) The washing machine presents you with plenty of default settings and a lot of choice to customise those settings. The panel is a touch sensitive one - so a bit of trial and error there while learning how to use that. The washing machine is WiFi enabled. However, please watch my video about some “set up frustrations'': here https://youtu.be/1CTUp5yexic as the setting up process wasn’t as streamlined as I’d hoped. However, it is a very new product and I expected some imperfections. Also, I’d like to mention that the washing machine WiFi card is 2.4ghz (from what I can see. All my 5ghz networks were not visible via app interface). If your home wifi is 5ghz only you may not be able to set up the wifi on this washing machine at all. It is not a bad thing, most home automation devices are 2.4ghz wifi, so this was expected. All in all I believe that the Haier HWF10AN1 10kg Front Loader is a high quality washing machine with many evolutionary and revolutionary features that you may not expect at this price point. I would not hesitate to recommend this washer when asked. Well done Haier!
