Great Cheapie – My old Haier finally gave up the ghost after 10 years solid service, doing the laundry for a family of 4- not bad for a cheapie. I had no hesitation in buying another Haier. The new one is quieter than the old one, has a 15 min quick wash which is fine for small loads of undies and the 1hr 25min. standard wash gets the muddiest gardening clothes clean. And all for under $500! Show reply
WOrked well for the first 2 years – Machine suited purpose for the first 2 and a half years then broke down fortunately I had a 5 year warranty cost $252 to repair then a year later broke down big time again this will cost $774 to repair. Buyer Beware! – We bought one of these in November 2012, it's been used 7-10 times per week, and now in March it refuses to complete an entire load, no matter what setting is used (have tried all settings, load levels, etc). It seems to just stop when it's meant to be spinning ... tip it over, jiggle the little fine wire that essentially selects all the modes,… Read more
and sometimes it starts to spin eventually ...
It seems a small fine piece of wire is all that stands between which "mode" this machine operates in, and when that has stretched or worn, then look out!!!! We pushed this out the 2nd story window when we decided to replace it with a good ole quality Whirlpool machine ... Good riddence Haier!! Work great in the beginning! Good wash, relatively fast, good capacity! Very unreliable! Seem all that stands between normal operation and faulty machine is a fine piece of wire!
Its interminable beeps drown out my expletives – After only a few months this good-looking and enormous washing machine started playing up...too much beeping at erratic times in the cycle, not spinning, beeping continuously during filling, etc. Six 7am service calls later, a range of new parts had been installed....new rod to stop it spinning out of control (it wasn't spinning at all), a new… Read more
computer "brain". Finally it's going again after months of not being able to get a load through the cycle. Fingers crossed but I won't hold my breath it's going to keep working. This company is associated with Fischer and Paykel so you would think it would be a safe brand. Not so. The size-it's supposed to be 7.5kg Erratic computer system, spinning problems, noisy beeping which is continuous if there is any problem with the function
