I have a great amount of hatred towards this machine – This machine overbalances with the one pillowcase in it. Have to repeatedly restart machine as it can't make it through spin cycle. Current wash has stopped 11 times. It washes well but my time is wasted by it's spin cycle. Total waste of money

loading was an issue, whether big or medium load, but pressure main button to pause function for 5-10mins, allowing water to drip through, easing weight burden issues, and generally no handling of load required to balance the weighty items. No worse than any other machine I've used/owned over the last 40 years of adult life (not including years when mum mostly did laundry with family machine). Steel bowl, no central agitator for things to wrap around, light construction. Can't find a filter, so worry about 'sludge' that might build up under the drum, but it's been an awesome donation! Washes the light, the heavy, and all clean with only a few issues of balance or detergent dispersion- and that I put to human error not thinking about utilizing machine according to performance ability. I've only ever used the heavy duty, normal, or rarely delicate (for animal toys) functions- but all fine for what I need it for with animal welfare and bedding items, and some of my bits and bobs. LG has been my brand for over 20yrs, but have to say this one great, once you know its limits. There's a crack in the plastic of the control panel, but otherwise all works fine during (?3-4) years I've used it.

(continually reports an out-of-balance condition) no matter what load size we have, and the load size option selected. The machine is on a tiled floor, and is perfectly-leveled so installation is not the problem. After six months, I've had no option but to throw this money down the toilet and buy something else.

Save your money, worst lemon sold – Biggest waste of money. Fixed twice in just over 12 months. Continually over balances, generally takes around 3 hours to do a load and that's eith me continually shifting washing inside the machine.. Struggles with a couple of shirts and under wear. Love it!! – I wash everything from school and work clothes to sheets and lingerie..it hasn't missed a beat in 5yrs, i love it..one thing that i don't with is that the plastic control panel cracked and the paint has flaked off and it's now rusted on the lid.. i can't find a lint filter but i purchased lint filter balls from wish.com and haven't ever had issues with tissues or lint on clothing.. i would definitely buy another if given the choice  Show details

Disappointed in haier washing machine 9.6kg – I cannot believe anyone would manufacture a machine without a filter, as it is something that I always thought was standard, you don't even think to look for this, as an option when purchasing. I also find if you do have a full load it doesn’t spin fully and I have to respin, time consuming when you have a large family and endless washing. Very disappointed, would not recommend at all. Do Not Buy – Had it 3 months, fixed twice for the same issue. It will get to the rinse cycle and continually become unbalanced and beep over and over and over again. This machine leaves lint on everything and it's so noticeable on black and rewashing (many times) does nothing to remove it. Everything comes out in one tangled knot and you'll be lucky if the clothes are actually clean. It has now come to the point where I have to pre-soak anything that has even minor soiling in order to get some semblance of clean clothes (which is not great when you have dirt magnets for children). I really wanted to like this machine, it was big, looked and felt robust and it is simple to use, but those things don't really matter if it doesn't do the job it's meant to.

I'm buying a new washing machine this week and it won't be a Haier.

Do not buy haier washing machines – We bought this machine from masters when they were closing down 6months ago, it's the worst machine we have had in our life. Biggest Piece of crap I have ever owned. Replaced one within 3 months now this one has broken down – Suspension went in the first one within 3 months. They don't call back when they say they will. Very difficult to deal with in the event of a faulty machine. Do not buy one of these machines - you will waste your money.

before this & it lasted 3 years replaced 2 agitators. simpson 5.5kg before that only lasted 1 year. mum has had her haier twin tub for well over 10 years & never had problems so i thought id give the brand a go not happy.

just made it out of warranty!!!!! – This was bought for us as we live in a company house. average cleaning ability, especially with full loads. leaves a lot of lint etc on clothes. in remote Australia its takes about 2 weeks to get another machine. Also no Technician will come out to assess it if it was warranty.

replaced. Apparently it was the pulsator and I saw another base the same in the repairers truck. He indicated it was a common problem. Waited two weeks for the one in our home to be repaired, still waiting for the one we dropped off a day earlier to the repairer. Now three weeks. We have had to purchase a third machine ( Simpson which washes beautifully). I have just washed a sheet and a pillowcase in the newly repaired Haier, that were clean other than I was trying to remove a greasy mark. They have come out covered in black stuff ( have never used fabric softener in this machine). Washed them again, now have even more black stuff on them. Waiting for retailers response. Don't Buy this crap washer – Pure crap! Purchased this washer and matching dryer 17 months ago from HHGregg. Also bought the HHGregg warranty. which sent me to warranty (Warrantech). They would not even repair or replace it. Offered me an in store credit and HHGregg no longer sells this. They must have known it was crap. So I had to pay more for another brand which gives me a non-matching washer to go with my dryer. Neither Warrantech or HHGregg would do anything to help. Both companies are a rip off. Do not buy the 3 year warranty because it is a waste of money. I'll never buy ANYTHING from HHGregg again.

Falling apart and rusting away. White paint has turned yellow – This machine is not very reliable. We bought it 3 years ago. paint is flaking off from inside the lid. The top metal cover has turned yellow. This machine has not been neglected, nor has any chemical been spilt on it. After we use it, we usually just wipe it down with a cloth.

Previously, we had a Simpson that was 20 years old before it packed it in, but it still had a perfect cabinet. No rust, no discolouring of paint, and no broken plastic covers.

I would never recommend this brand of machine to any one, or ever buy another Haier product. Piece of rubbish.

Excellent Washing Machine – 2 years ago I purchased our Haier and it's a keeper, has to be the best quality washing machine I've ever owned. We never had any problem and we just love the 9kg capacity. Such negativity from most other reviewer which surprised me for such a well made, quality machine. A very quiet machine and so simple to use.

believe are owned by Haier to get someone out to have a look. Well to their surprise the technician came out and said that it was needing a whole new gear box and that he could have a new one put in it in a week.

Well I was furious and said its only seven weeks old and I will not be getting a new gear box in a 7 week old machine, I wanted a refund and was only told that they would then replace it with a new machine Same Model!!! and would be delivered in a few weeks.

Well I'm not so sure now when they do drop it off this week that I want the same machine that screws up all the clothes and from previous reviews that it seems to have a lot of problems other than needing a new gear box!! NOT HAPPY and really don't want a replacement for the same Model. I should of been asked if I wanted a full refund for the machine being so young!!

disgusted – Never again will I get one of these had 1st one 4 months got it replaced by Haier only to have the 2nd one arrive almost 2 weeks later & not working...totally disgusted dont even want to give 1 star. Will stick to Simpson never have had trouble with them.

Must have been lucky – I have had mine now for about 5 years. Never have had any problems. We have washed queen size blankets and other bedding. We also have a cafe and it gets a lot of use doing tea towels and cloths on a daily basis. Yes it could do with a lint filter but over all pretty happy.

Crap!!! – Washing machine was fine for the first year we got it, washed clothes fine however for some reason there was never enough water and the hot water wash would not work. litre washing machine proudly continues with this Chinese manufacturing tradition of copying a product in appearance & looks (perhaps even appearing more robust & well-made) when in reality, the disgusting-chronically-wealthy Chinese production owner/managers have cut every corner, removed every safety feature and used the most cheapest, nastiest, useless-just-barely-functioning-parts slapped together in a hurry by the underpaid slaves in their factories that produce all of the same product for the major brands on consignment. - They just get in on the act by doing their own product under a Chinese brand and by working out how to do the product cheaper & crappier...take a look in the kitchen appliance isle next time you are in at K-Rap-Mart - Breville & Homemaker products got the same sweat on on them, just that they are built to very different production specs.

My wife and I picked up our Haier 9.5 at Retro Vision 3 years ago for $500 (I bartered down the sales guy from $590.

We thought we had scored a 1K machine for half price. With a huge stainless steel tub and metal body: it looked the business!

2 kids, new born baby and with my work clothes - we had it going - it's worked hard for us - but it can't handle a full load - it makes a grating-gears-cogs sound when it is on wash cycle and it doesn't fill up with enough water...and it sometimes doesn't mix-in the washing powder that still winds up on the clothes at the end of a cycle.

The worst thing is it has no lint filter...most loads I don't see or notice any gunk on my gear nor most of the kids, but then my wife goes to wash something white or a nice dress and all these black, scale-like flecks of crap cover the garment, causing my wife to have a meltdown and begin frantically hand washing the item.

It hasn't been the total hunk of crap that many of the reviewers on here have suffered from. Luck of the draw I guess. It's worked hard and non-stop for us. It's been a good workhorse despite the twisted clothes at the end of the wash. It's washed clothes.

I realised it had no l t filter early on and just shrugged it off. I put a large pile of my dirty clothes in- the come out washed -- job done - 3 years++ and still going

But we are getting rid of it due to the dumb-posterior flaw of it having no lint filter and have to remove the "agitator" at the bottom of the tub and clean that and put through expensive washing machine cleaning agents at $12 a pack.

Think we will go with a Simpson Whirlpool or a Hitachi..Holden or Toyota of washing machines in my view..

Rubbish – Brought this machine two years ago and while the machine itself still works, one small plastic part holding the base it broken and unable to be replaced. So whole machine has to be dumped. I to was told made and serviced by fisher and paykel, so would have no problems.

not the best – Lots of lint. The clothes tangle and stains / smelly gear doesn't wash as well as the last machine. We also get water leaking onto the floor.
