Haier HWT08AN1 (8kg)

This has been a very disappointing washing machine. Firstly, it has torn small holes in a number of items of clothing. I can only guess this is from the bottom agitator action. Basically had to throw a couple of work shirts away due to these holes presenting an unacceptable appearance. Secondly, this machine has very poor filtration and leaves… Read more
small flecks of rotting brown mould or something across a lot of the washing. This is despite rinsing the filters religiously after every wash. When these flicks are wet you cannot scrape them off. They just wipe into the washing when they are dry. They crumble and when they brushed off they just crumble into the washing. It’s a fairly disgusting in the stomach churning experience.
I wish it were easy to return this machine however it is a large washing machine unfortunately, but I will be taking it up with the company.
Cannot recommend the purchase of this item. It is certainly put me off other Haier products.
After 5 years, our LG washing machine gave it up. Having come to accept that there is no real benefit paying large amouts for any white goods any longer (we expect to replace any washer or dryer every 5 years) replaced it with this Haier model. Have… Read more
had it for just over a year months now and no complaints. All prior washing machines we have had were front loader, this is a top loader but with no center agitator post. More washing options than the LG, energy and water efficient for a top loader washer with options to customise any given washing load. While I would prefer not to buy Chinese whitegoods, there is not many options as even models such as Fisher & Paykel are now made in China.
Follow-up · Its been a few months now and no complaints. Great unit does its job well. Time will tell. Hate having to buy Chinese made anything, but we have accepted the fact that we will likely have to replace the washer and dryer every 5 years (anything beyond that is a bonus) as nothing is made to last any more.
We had a Fisher & Paykel machine for 16 years and needed replacing. Was going to replace with the newer F&P but after some research this machine was exactly the same as the equivalent F&P but much less in price. Started good, much quieter but problems soon appeared. Cloths knotted, machine moved around often during spin cycle. But cloths had to be… Read more
washed over and over. Especially black coloured cloths. Black colours just marked over and over to the point we have to get rid of the machine. Such a pitty, seemed to have potential but just a crap design. I work in a foster home, and they have a 10kg version which was purchased at the same time, and they also got there of theres as all cloths were stained and not doing well. What a waste of money.
Our Haier HWT08AN1 8 kg washing machine rebalances during the spin cycle continuously, wasting so much water in the process. It does not rebalance just once as it should; it does it over and over. The label on the lid clearly states that it should try to rebalance once and will sound a buzzer if this doesn't work. It has never sounded a buzzer; it… Read more
just continuously tries to rebalance until we manually stop it. It worked well for about 2 years, getting it through warranty now at only 2.5 years old it's next to useless.
Major disappointment, never again – This Haier 8kg Washer is the first top loading washing machine I've bought in over 20 years, my bad. This machine ties the washing in big intricate knots, stretching and pulling the garments and it takes a fair bit to separate them. It leaves washing powder on the clothes, despite the filters being cleaned prior to every use and the machine never… Read more
being overloaded. I've twice tried the clean tub option but as yet the machine hasn't managed to actually finish a clean tub cycle. It's a big disappointment. Proof of purchase can be produced, though I've never received an invoice or even an email from The Good Guys, it was all done via text. It's well within warranty but because it's an issue of product quality or lack thereof, I have no recall to have this machine replaced. When I spoke to The Good Guys in Launceston with my complaint about the load being tied and twisted into one big knot, I was told 'That's what top loaders do.'
Does what it says it would do – Does what it says it would do Easy to use, quiet, washes everything well
A washing machine which should be called the misery maker – Don't buy it. An absolutely rubbish product which you will regret buying very quickly. Out of balance issues are rife with this machine. It will continue to add water over and over again to try and balance the load. A very inefficient way of balancing the load.. you'll be constantly standing by the machine to balance the load. Not only this, water… Read more
gets dispersed everywhere and your laundry room will become a slip hazard. Don't waste your money on this machine.
