This Dishwasher cleaned well intially, but was quite loud. Less than a year in, began tripping the power, after over $700 of electrical visits and repairs, and 4 service visits that could find no fault, F&P (parent company) agreed to replace, Suprise Suprise new machine in place and no more power trips! Nice and affordable but there's a reason why. Absolute junk. Not even a year old and it's tripped the power. I've found the control panel to be wet . These machines should be recalled.

I bought this based on the price only & regret it whole heartedly. Doesn't matter what you put it, doesn't fit or sit properly. Pretty good, – Pretty cheap dishwasher. Seems to work pretty well and not too loud. The only thing I wash it had was that little door opening once the cycle has finished so that it helps remove moisture from the dishes. Show details

Not recommended – This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned and I am over 50yo, so I have owned a few. I gave it one star for being nice to look at. But as a dishwasher it fails. As other people have mentioned the racks are not designed very well, the gaps are too large. It doesn't wash the dishes very well. It is common to have to redo dishes, and I make sure… Read more

all dishes have the food scraped off of them. I miss my last dishwasher which was an LG. I should of spent the money fixing it instead of buying a this dishwasher. I do not recommend this product.

Good Value dishwasher, easy to use – I bought this dishwasher on sale 2 weeks ago at Harvey Norman and it was easy to install and it has been running smoothly since. It isn't too noisy and dries the dishes quite well even on the shortest cycle. Dishes come out nice and shiny so no issues as long as it keeps doing this. I really like the delayed start which I use often to wash on solar power, from 1-24hrs. A good buy for the price, I would recommend it. Show details

Good, but very noisy, 1 star related to noise – Good, but very noisy compared with the one it replaced after 10 years of usage, if I was aware of the noise it makes would not have bought it, evenso it washes perfect but as a free standing unit noise is very annoying, wonder why manufacturer Haier allowed this to happen.its 5 stars for washing but 1 star related to the noise it makes Show details

Great dishwasher for the price – We initially bought a more expensive dishwasher and after 2 weeks we returned it because it was useless. Bought this one and haven't had a single issue. Yes, it's slightly noisier than the more expensive brands but it works exactly how it's supposed to every time. Sure, the expensive brand had every bell and whistle you could think of, including… Read more

wifi connectivity (seriously...who actually needs a dishwasher to connect to wifi in the real world?). This dishwasher just does what it's supposed to...washes dishes and dries them. It would be an improvement if the bottom rack could fold flat for large pots, but we haven't really had an issue getting our dishes to fit. I recommend this dishwasher for somebody that just wants a simple machine that will do a good job, at a good price.

A bit noisy but great value – We recently had to replace our old dishwasher. The Haier was the most affordable we could find at short notice. I have "tradie" skills, but I reckon anyone capable of crawling around on the floor and under cabinets should be able to manage. The trays are as you'd… Read more

expect of a modern dishwasher, although the bottom tray is not adjustable to create flat areas for pots and pans. It makes it a little awkward to place a number of them, especially larger ones, because the plate racks stick up (see photo).

The upper tray's two position height adjustment is useful and somewhat necessary given the non adjustable bottom tray (see above); tall pots such as stock pots will need the additional height the top shelf can provide.

We didn't like the cutlery holder, which takes up a bit of room and is fiddly. We use a third party one that we'd procured some time ago for the previous dishwasher.

Program selection is straight forward. There are a number of different cycles that can be selected. We find the Light (90 minute) cycle works for our 2 person household. HANDY HINT: Read the instructions first.

As others have observed, this dishwasher is noisy, especially when compared to our previous unit. Not bad noisy, you just know it's working. However, I have noticed that with large loads the noise is less noticeable.

The dishwasher runs very hot, so best to wait for a few minutes before opening the door at the end of cycle.

Drying is reasonably effective and dishes do come out sparkling clean.

All in all, if it proves as reliable as it is effective, the HAIER HDW13V1W1 will be good value.

Excellent for the price – We've had several Bosch dishwashers. They've all been good, but Bosch prices have increased a lot, and their cheaper models are still using the same old analogue controls from 15 years ago. We paid $435 for the Hiaer model. It is a fairly noisy dishwasher. As in you'll hear water swishing about vigorously when washing. The other motor type sounds… Read more

are present sometimes, but not loud or obnoxious.

The plastic white trim is not quite symmetrical and feels a bit cheap. But the stainless steel model was $600. The dishwasher looks fine.

Anyway, the dishes are cleaned and dried well. The racks are actually much sturdier than the flimsy junk Bosch puts in their low end models.

Wet dishes are also a hallmark of low end dishes. Choice complained about the energy efficiency of this model, and I was very pleased the Haier dishwasher is "wasting" energy by actually drying the dishes properly.

I don't really mind the water swishing sound. The dishwasher performs well, and saves us hundreds. And the modern digital controls are sleek and user friendly. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Btw, for anyone who does not know, Haier is the world's largest appliance manufacturer. They bought Fisher and Paykel. I generally avoid cheap Chinese appliances, as most are mediocre to junk. I've now had a Haier gas stove, fridge, washing machine, and dishwasher, and the quality is consistently very good. The dishwasher is much nicer than the low end Bosch that costs double the price.

Dirty dishes done dirt Cheap!!! Extended 3 month review up against German Brand!! Highly Recommend – In a nut shell - dirty dishes done dirt cheap!! This things sings better than an AC/DC song dirty deeds just got to get a Haier in your home!! Seriously though we have put a lot of time and consideration in relation to testing this model and Haier brand as we had a big german brand dishwasher only 2 years old and performing well with no issues. … Read more

The wife wasn’t convinced and a little confused between the two and which one to keep. So a show down ensued it was like guns for two and coffee for one over the course of three months gruelling testing to see who would get the award of dirty dishes done dirt cheap!!!. This included swapping out the two dishwashers over this 3 month period to give an honest review…….so who came out on top to remain in the converted dishwasher spot in our kitchen???

In Short: After deliberating over the two brands and which one to keep and which one to give away we have finally decided to keep the Haier HDW13V1G1 (Silver) as king of dirty dishes done dirt cheap over German brand for following reasons:

1. Over the extended trial period the Haier performed just as well cleaning the grim off dishes and was comparable to expensive German brand with the only separation being slightly more room in bottom shelf to fit larger plates to enable the spinning washing blade to spin uninterrupted that at times caused a challenge with the Haier. This however would not be a problem with standard size dinner plates however we do have some larger plates! see photos… 2. The Haier was just as quiet and had excellent water usage but importantly still delivered clean plates. Here’s the thing we did have an incident where the Haier didn’t clean the sauces or grim off some plates at first we didn’t work it out. So we replaced it with the German brand that successfully did it. So we swapped out again putting the Haier to,the test doing exactly the same meal etc but inadvertently the slightly smaller (‘average sized dinner plate) and the Haier performed just as well as the German brand. This was when we realised the plate size restriction in the Haier. This was not a show stopper as these we above average plates that caught the bottom spinning cleaning arm from rotating in the cleaning cycle. I actually measured the inside area from top to bottom with the Haier having 2cm more space that meant it was basket position. 3. My wife and l both agreed that the Haier dried the dishes slightly better than the German brand resulting in putting away in most situations the dishes without wiping straight to cardboard - caveat here a short time later. 4. After setting up and installing this over 6 times during 3 months l can confirm that this was very easy to install. Even the first time it was pretty simple to install without handy man or tradie that l believe any Dad or single Mum capable of so big 5 stars there. The German one had different anti leak gauges that where larger and at times made it more challenging to fit to taps under sink. After all the changing over of dishwashers not once did we experience any leaks or other from either dishwasher which really was good to see. 5. In side by side shoot out between the German brand that is having exactly the same meals and a clean off they both performed extremely well.

Results: It was dam close run thing, but the Haier got the coffee and won, smoking the German brand simply on getting the job done just as well as the German brand but a lot cheaper whilst marginally louder according to my wife. It is very easy to live with and simply does the job. I can not call her out on this considering my ears are painted on, whilst they are like the size of dinner plates they lull people into a false sense that l can actually hear them as l am moderately deaf in both ears using hearing aids (well out of home anyway as my family talk to loud when l wear them at home way too noisy). But in reality l do not think the noise is at all an issue or that different to German brand even when wearing my hearing aids turned right up at the “mouses fart” level - all good I say. Now let’s be frank here it is negligible noise and let’s get it into perspective you can hardly notice it, it’s not like it’s like a train or plane going bye where you need to stop a conversation or raise your voice to talk etc.

Now having tested this Haier Dishwasher once to twice daily for last 3 nearly 4 months without any problems or concerns and it appears to be robust as we threw everything at this dishwasher and it delivered and stood too winning the dirty dishes battle time and again. Whilst l received this as part of the Ambassador Program, would l spend my hard earn coin on this Haier dishwasher and further would l recommend this to my family and friends and from my experiences the answer is absolutely 100%, highly recommend. The performance and reliability is yet to be seen but will come back in a year and let you know! Go with peace of mind to buy this dishwasher knowing it does the job at a great price and it certainly has all the required functionality for even the hardest loads. Note had the silver model looks absolutely awesome!

Great Dishwasher - No Issues – Our previous Haier dishwasher lasted 12 years so we replaced it with the same one however obviously with the lastest version/model. pull out cutlery rack that some dishwashers have, this cutlery basket is also customisable, we removed the top part. Some reviews state they can't fit plates on the bottom rack but from photos I can see they haven't raised the top rack which is a feature available on this model plus it's easy to do, explained in full in the instructions. We use the auto setting and always do a quick rinse before putting in dishwasher, great cleaning and drying. The delayed start option is a welcomed feature. The length of washing cycles don't worry me as we mostly run it overnight. This machine comes with 2 foldable cup holders on the top rack which we use all the time (mostly for container lids), our last machine had 4 which we prefer, luckily we saved them from the old machine. Highly recommend, suits all of our needs.

Beyond expectations 5 stars – As part of the Ambassador Program, I havebeen using the Haier Silver HDW13V1G1 for 3 weeks. As it happened, its arrival coincided with my AEG integrated washer dying. So, the timing was perfect but also posed a significant challenge for the Haier to go up against a well-loved, high quality European model. On first glance the styling of the… Read more

Haier dishwasher, with a matte silver finish door is pleasing. Normally you can find that an appliance finished in silver is constantly marked or has finger prints on it but this is not the case for this dishwasher. There are no marks whatsoever left from the family opening and closing the door, so that was a quick win.

Moving to the function of the machine the positives I found include:

For wine glasses, the top basket can be adjusted which also works for more / larger plate space underneath. The cutlery basket is a good size and is easily accessible in the front middle with an option of cover or no cover. The basket has an advantage of being able to be separated into 2 smaller ones if that suits you – the larger one works for our family but I can see for people with different cooking or entertaining preferences, being able to decide is good. Overall I would say the basket is marginally smaller than other brands. The baskets slide in and out well, no catching or dropping experienced. The LED controls are easy to use and navigate, easy for the children too, with power and then start if you have a favourite cycle. The tablet holder has a smooth slide to close and the rinse aid holder has good capacity. In terms of the washing cycles I have tried them all and found like anything , I have my favourites and some of my feedback here is:

There are 6 cycles providing a range of options and these include Auto, Eco, Glass, Heavy, Rinse and Light. All cycles worked well but I have found my two favourites : Light at 90 minutes and Heavy at 130 minutes. For the light cycle I would say you need to rinse plates before this wash. The items came out clean and glasses shiny and it's a reasonably (certainly not the fastest on the market) timed wash. On the heavy cycle I put in a baking dish that had some apple crumble stuck to the sides. To my surprise, the dish came out perfectly clean so if you have a big family and are not great at rinsing your dishes, the heavy cycle is a winner. Also this weekend we had a large family gathering and we jammed it really full without rinsing first and everything came out perfectly clean on the heavy cycle. The sound of the dishwasher is reasonable for it's price, you can definitely hear it if in the same room. It probably compares to other models that don't have a panel on the front (aka semi/full integrated models) The dishwasher filter is one of the best I have used and in my house (no rinsing) I would give it a quick rinse weekly. My overall experience is positive and really did exceed my expectations. As this dishwasher is really well priced (aka its cheap) I expected far less (dishes coming out wet or not 100% clean). For a family that needs a practical, well designed dishwasher that looks great and is on the budget end, the Haier is one to definitely check out. 5 stars!

Reasonable value at a budget price – Ambassador programme reviewer who received this machine a week prior to Christmas. wine glasses rack at top (which my Bosch didn’t have), the cutlery drawer can be modified to accept thicker handled knives & cutlery by removing the top grid cover. I found the controls easy to work out and instruction booklet simple enough ✅ (although tabs don’t load flat like others, they drop in the slot vertically). Larger plates couldn’t fit but it accepts normal sized dinner plates . Washed both greasy baked on casserole and glasses to a sparkling clean on the eco wash and I was impressed to find my glasses were dry even when I ran the first load without the finish brand rinse aid ✅ which is recommended by the manufacturer and sample tabs & rinse product is included for the first couple of washes. Bottom rack slides out easily which can mean it’s also easy to disengage from the machine altogether if you’re unaware which could create a problem, it’s not that easy to feed it back either ❌. Overall, I would say it’s at the budget end of the market and it’s functional although not designed or constructed as well as other brands I’ve used, it’s a little noisier and feels more ‘tinny’ than others.

Beyone my expectations – This is a great dishwasher. I was a little concerned that my dinner plates may not fit, based on some other reviews I had read, but that is not an issue for me. in the dishwasher - so no need to hand wash those dinner plates on Christmas Day anymore, yippee!

My last dishwasher was more than 14 years old, and was starting to tell me that it wanted to retire. This model has been the perfect replacement. The outer dimensions are very similar to the old one, but internally, it seems it fits more in there.

This model doesn’t have the feature of folding down the plate holders in the lower rack (for larger pots and dishes), but it hasn’t been an issue when I’ve put larger items in there.

The cutlery basket is interesting. The cutlery I have has a broad base at the handle, so many pieces don’t fit in the grid supplied, so I removed it from one side of the basket, but kept it on the other, as it does ensure the cutlery (that does fit) is adequately spaced out to ensure a better wash of the cutlery.

I do kinda wish it had a cutlery drawer (which I think the model above has) - but, to be fair, even though all the cutlery I’ve washed thus far has been in the supplied basket, its all come out clean - none of it has had to be rewashed. So the cutlery draw is more of thing of convenience than function, I think?

The sound the machine makes during the wash cycle is what I would say is average. Its about the same, if not quieter, than my last machine, so I don’t find it to be too loud at all.. It gives a few quiet beeps when the cycle has finished, but I barely hear it from the next room when it happens. I could easily put this on when I went to bed, and not be disturbed by the noise.

Most importantly though, the wash function is amazing. Some pieces I have put in the machine for cleaning have come out shining, much more than I expected. I’ve used most wash cycles, but I generally use the auto cycle for everything, as that tends to do a great job. I’ve left dried on weet-bix, and other dried out pasta dishes, and the dishwasher has handled them with ease (my last dishwasher struggled with these, even when using the pot wash cycle). I do usually try to rinse dishes before they go in the dishwasher, but this doesn’t happen 100% of the time. But so far, the dishwasher has cleaned the dishes with ease, usually on the Auto wash setting. It makes having a dishwasher in my kitchen a joy to have, once again.

The ‘dry’ feature at the end of the cycle was a ‘must-have’ for me, I strongly dislike getting things out from the dishwasher still soaking wet. (It does a great job of trying to dry the plastics too, though through their design, there is often water left in the lip of plastic lids so they are still wet because of that, but the rest of the item is dry). It makes unstacking the dishwasher a much easier, quicker, and pleasant process.

The buttons on the front of the machine are easy to press, and easy to clean. The display is easy to understand, to know what program is selected, and how much longer is scheduled to go on the cycle. Adding the wash tablet, and adding / topping up the rinse aid is easily done on the inside of the door.

And lastly, but definitely not least, the delivery process, was so prompt and efficient, the dishwasher was delivered so seamlessly. And the delivery team who delivered my unit did such a great job. They were on time (based on when I was advised they would arrive), courteous, efficient, answered all my questions (not that I had that many on the day), they took away my old machine with no issues, left my kitchen tidy, and also ensured the new machine was correctly connected (that it turned on, drew in, and drained correctly) before they left. It certainly made the whole process a lot easier.

Overall, its a great product, and great delivery service. I'd 100% recommend anyone considering this, to seriously evaluate it.

Extremely Pleased – This is my first experience with any dishwasher and wasn't really sure what to expect. Was a bit old school, with the notion that there is nothing wrong with doing dishes by hand. Was very happy with how well it fit with the look of my kitchen, which is small and had no option for a built in dishwasher, so having this stand alone option was… Read more

great. The colour choices were good too. It is sturdy enough to act as my microwave and coffee machine bench.

Super easy to use, even for a newbie, no complicated buttons or options. Little window tells you how much time is left in minutes.

What really surprised me was how incredibly clean the dishes came out. My glasses and cutlery literally gleamed. No streak marks and water stains, or missed smudgy spots. Was so excited at how clean they came out that I sent everything in my kitchen through it in the first week. The plates came out super clean as well. Even the coffee jar came out looking better than brand new. Glass pot lids as well are now super clean. Could not imagine going back to washing by hand, as I could never achieve these kinds of results.

Was a little disappointed that it didn't get the same results on my frying pan, although I have definitely seen improvement on that too now it has gone through a few times. It even does pretty good on my pyrex after baking, although that does require a little bit of work before putting it in. Soaking it and scraping off the worst of the baked on mess sees it coming out just as gleaming as my glasses.

Most things come out dry (and quite warm), although the plastic lids tend to still be a little wet, especially the ones with the inserts for seals.

It is rated at using 11.5 L per wash and I have been monitoring it on my solar app for power usage. It spiked at about 2.3 kWh for about 15 minutes throughout the cycle, otherwise the power consumption was pretty good.

The cutlery box can be easily dismantled into two smaller pieces and I only use half of it as it takes up too much room and don't usually require both halves, so that flexibility is good. The bottom tray has prongs in some awkward spots, so it is a bit tricky sorting out pots and pans and although it claims to be able to do a 13 piece set, I suspect you would have be some kind of gifted engineer to load it to fit that much. There is also no option to lower/raise the trays to accommodate larger items in the bottom tray.

The noise level seems to be okay, you can definitely hear it running but it isn't so intrusive that you notice it too much. Without any real prior experience with dishwashers, I have no comparison point, except to say it is much quieter than my washing machine. It beeps to let you know when it is done.

The shortest cycle, is for rinse only and that is 20 minutes, the other cycles range from 90 to 174 minutes. The little bay for the tablets is easy to use but I do find that managing to get any rinse aid in without making a bit of a mess is challenging, and you can't really tell whether it is full or not.

Overall am very happy with this dishwasher and the few niggles are only minor. It is perfect for my needs and it makes me extremely happy now when I open my cutlery draw and see how shiny everything is!

Overall very impressed, very good for the price point – This is a great dishwasher for the price. We've put some heavily soiled items in it and it cleans as good as a higher end dishwasher. We just removed our old dishwasher and it slotted straight in, however the water pipe and electric lead are shorter than our old… Read more

dishwasher, so we had to use an extension cord to plug it in.

We used the recommended tablets and rinse aid, and it washes perfectly, very clean with heavy soiling however we've not tried anything baked on in the oven. 98% of stuff comes out dry, with only few plastic things still wet.

The top tray can easily be raised to fit bigger items below, and it's got enough basic functions for everyday needs. No half load or quick wash that our old dishwasher had, but again, it's a lower price point and does the basic job really well.

It is fairly noisy while in operation. Our kitchen is away from our living area, but if you had an open plan setup with kitchen & living space, it may annoy you. And the finish signal beep is very loud and annoying, but it can be turned off.

There is a lack of foldable tines in the drawers, which stops big pots being placed in bottom tray easily. We have a Thermomix and the bowl doesn't sit easily in the bottom drawer, it has to go on an angle to fit in between the tines and takes up more space this way.

The cutlery box also takes up much needed room in the bottom drawer, so it has room for a family of 2 or 3, but we have family of 4 and there’s not enough room to fit all our daily stuff (Thermomix bowl included).

Overall I'm still very impressed. It's a great budget dishwasher and I would recommend it over some other brands we've had in the past at a similar price point.

The Store Manager was also very rude and denied the request of getting a replacement dishwasher or even a loan one during the repair process, despite the Australian Consumer Law Statutory Guarantees.

Given the poor quality and support from Haier (Fisher & Paykel), and The Good Guys, I would strongly recommend all potential buyers to avoid this brand at all costs.

Complaint timeline: 0. Dishwasher failed in late March, but was on holiday, and Fisher & Paykel could not be reached for more than 30 minutes on the phone. 1. Both The Good Guys and Haier (Fisher & Paykel) were contacted on the 8th April 2021 to report this issue and required urgent repair/replacement/refund to be issued/carried out. 2. Repairer (organised by The Good Guys and Haier) attended site on 13th April, and advised it was a total failure, which they could not repair within a reasonable time, advised me to contact store for other options. 3. Contacted The Good Guys on 13th April, but was advise that a report from repairer was needed; and was denied of any help. Multiple complaints were raised with the store and Store Manager, and a re-assessment/pick-up was organised on 16th April. 4. Repairer failed to attend site, and no contact was made at all (a full day waiting at home was lost). 5. Repairer attended site on 21st April to disassemble the dishwasher, and their work left the entire kitchen sink and faucet in-operable (cannot use the sink now). And no time frame of repair/replacement has been offered.

haier stainless steel freestanding dishwasher 60cm – The buttons are super easy to use. Dishes fit in well. I find though there is a loud clunking noise when turns to next cycle so not sure if that's normal or not, but other than that it's not too noisy. Washes dishes great ! It was affordable and so far, so good. I would recommend. Show details

Good quality product – After months of being at home, due to covid. I realised I was spending too much time washing dishes manually! We are a family of four. After doing some research I found this brand which suited our budget. I purchased this dishwasher from the Good Guys. It cleans the dishes well. It’s cost effective. It has child lock settings which is perfect. We usually run a full load at night. I’m one happy customer! Show details
