Show....which we did. We were quoted on an install for either a Teslar or SIG system Quite some time later a Halcol rep came on site and reviewed our existing install and advised they would get back to us with a final quote. We then received a quote BUT the price had increased by quite some margin WELL above what was promised at the home show...apparently the reason was that we needed to replace all our panels because Halcol did not want to be associated with any other install due to possible future liabilities. There was no effort by Hacol to explain the reasoning. and the quote finished with a comment we could have our deposit back. (It was almost like pay extra or get lost) Some of our panels were less than 18 mths old. I had to ring and get an explanation as to why I needed to get new panel especially given that some were 18mth old. There was also vague reference to noncompliance which my sparky hotly denied. I then suggest could we leave all the existing panels in place , and go with an AC coupled solution, once again with no real explanation from the rep...just a no , you carnt do that. By this stage we had begun to form the opinion that Hacol did not want to honor the battery capacity promises made at the Home show (double the capacity at a single capacity price) We then resorted to getting advice from Energex and other installers who flatly rejected the comments made by Hacol as to the suitability of an AC coupled solution if my preference was to keep all our panels and not contribute to land fill...more to follow....
