The most frustrating stereo Bluetooth system I've ever owned – Citation One stereo is the most frustrating Bluetooth system I've ever owned: it comes on by itself at night when I'm sleeping. Scared the hell out of me with the AI female voice over. Bluetooth connection is unstable and needs constant reboot; no connection without internet. I have to take out 125Hz -6dB to make them listenable with any music. And everything is out of sync by a heartbeat. Show details

thought this would be the showcase speaker putting out clear quality sound. I like listening to acoustic music so clarity is quite important for me. However, I was really disappointed because when playing any type of music, you can hear this static sound.
So I thought maybe contact customer support and see if there is an issue with this speaker and they can help me with it. Contacted their customer support via their website and after a few emails back and forth trying to "isolate" the issue and even sending them an actual video so they can hear for themselves, issue could not be resolved. So i asked if they can replace it. Long story short I can’t get the warranty as it turns out I need to present a proof of purchase. Fair enough...but what a disappointment. You'd expect better quality control standards from Harmon Kardon that says and I quote from their website "Discreet Scandinavian design combined with our finest Innovative technology in the Harman Kardon Citation Series, offering the discerning listener the best in home audio and entertainment systems."
I'm just glad I didn't actually pay for this, the Google Nest I have which is much cheaper has better sound quality than this. I'm sure if one presented a proof of purchase, they may have changed it, and unfortunate for me I did not have one, and what I also don't have is the confidence to buy their products. Just my 2 cents.
Totally love it – Started off with 1 Citation 1 and now there are 4 in the house and 2 DAB+ clock radios and they are perfect! No problems with running them separately or having the sound streaming throughout the house! Absolutely no problems - love it
Good sound and looks but useless with google home – The speaker was bought on discount on eBay- allphones, Black Friday sale in November. Bass is loud but personally It doesn’t bother us. reconnects even when I’m in another room in the house. The connection to google home stays for few days or even hours sometimes and then again we have to reset the speaker and start from the beginning to connect to google home and again it takes up to an hour or even longer. Not happy.
If I could give a 0 I would – These speakers are terrible. When they finally do connect, which took more than 20 attempts they worked for a day or two then dropped off. Reconnected, same issue with time they again didn’t last more than a week. Do not waste your money on these. Show details
Really horrible bass – I’ve recently purchased this on special. Now, I’m not surprised why it was on special. Initial set up was ok but when it disconnected fr google home, it was a pain to reconnect it (it took me a few hours and countless times of deleting and re-downloading google home). no way of adjusting it apparently. I can’t use the speaker for fear of disrupting neighbours due to the terrible bass. The speaker itself is ok if it doesn’t have the terrible bass. I rang Harman Kardon technical assistance which seemed to be from an overseas call centre in the Philippines who didn’t provide any help. I mean what use is a speaker on display if you can’t use it? It really doesn’t serve its purpose. If Harman Kardon sorts out the bass issue by updating the firmware or producing an app which can adjust the bass, this would’ve been a good speaker. Until then, I cannot comment highly on this speaker.
Really bad speakers – Stay away from these speakers and company. Harman kardon devises do not link to your devises well, contestant drop outs and resets. Firmware issues, firewall issues. Hey google does not work and when you do get it to work it drops out a few days later. Seems to be common with all there devises. Harmankardon clearly specialise in speakers but not the technology to use them. Show details
