Bad weeks stay – I stayed in the family apartment with my sister. So...so disappointed. Cockroach poo in kitchen and bathrooms. Killed several in our weeks stay. The bed mattresses sank together with the lounge seats. We stayed in the same unit last year and didn't have these experiences!! Has certainly deteriorated...and expensive into the bargain. A plus would be for the friendly and helpful staff. Also food was nice. Really a costly...bad weeks stay. Raylee

chips and salad for well over 8-10 mins. The “chef” at one stage we see take it back of the pass and put it back moments later That probably explained the overcooked reheated steak. It was obvious, the chips were barely above to though warm. The other meal Pork sirloin was dry and over cooked. The veggies were not cooked and don’t mean today’s “crisp” could hardly bite into. They were also barely above warm. $78 for the privilege. When I complained. AND BELIVE ME it was just a complaint, not shouting, raving abusing, just an everyday complaint. The girl replied , “well don’t go off at me, I don’t have to take that” I was not smiling but I was not rude or abusing. That seems to be the mantra today. You cannot complain! What a cop out! Don’t dad complain you get accused of being whatever!!! I asked for money back. Which they did. BUT is it that the point?? It used to be a great place and as I say worth the travel we used to make. Sorry not anymore.

Cancelled our booking with no explanation! – We were booked into Harrigan’s for Sunday 11th June for a night. Booking was made & paid for in August 2022. We arrived after a three hour driving to be told our room had been cancelled by the manager in September 2022 & receptionist could not find any reason but she could rebook us next week! asked for the manager to call me & I’m still waiting. Extremely poor customer service by their manager & would certainly not stay there ever. Our lovely relaxing weekend became 9 hours, 6 of which was driving.

Friendly staff but food could be better – Lovely people, Sarah was bright and bubbly and make the birthday a wonderful one. Kitchen forgot a meal but fixed it and had it out within 5 minutes. Overall a good experience.

Lunch wish I could rate a zero – 1st March ordered 200 gm rump steak , the worst rump steak ever, called the manager, he didn't even offer me a replacement meal.The steak knife wouldn't even cut through the steak, 90 % was gristle, I got 10 times better at the Laurieton services club for the same price.Go figure, do not go to Harrigans at Harrington, overpriced poor value.

Worst food I've had in years – Ordered roast of the day one small slice of pork, was dry, a few veggies , re-heated I think. my wife order some chicken thing and only ate half of it. Dont waste your money. So bad, was disgusted and will never return. Had breakfast the next day, slightly better but still crap

Foul smell room – Stayed here last weekend and would never stay here again. mouse under the fridge. We were very surprised that their “cleaners” did not notice it as the 2 staff members that came to check it out noticed it when they walked up to the fridge right away. The room had cob webs on the ceiling and around the room, the glasses were dirty so we had to wash them up before using them. We ate at the pub and got the pizza but it was not cooked properly, the cocktails didn’t fill the glass so they put extra ice in there to make it look fill.

Would never stay here ever again!!!

Below Average Food – Ordered Angus Beef Burger (me) and the Guiness Pot Pie (for my wife). Burger was "just" warm and the chips were served cold. There wasn't a hot item on the board. was chunks of potato, very little meat and what meat there was was very fatty. Quite inedible. The vegetables were rock hard, had to send back to kitchen to cook the vegetables (couldn't even put a fork into the carrots let alone the broccoli!). Vegetables came back slightly better but broccoli still hard. Not a great experience. Would not eat there again and not recommend to anyone either. Waste of money.

How to treat the customer last – On 27th/28th July my wife and I stayed for two nights at the Harrington River Lodge as we have done so several times in the past. want to watch the final of Ninja warrior on Sunday night. When someone came to check the air conditioning they commented about the air con breaking down but the whole roof would need to be removed to fix it. They did offer us another room but I am recovering from a total knee replacement and was using the weekend as rest and relax so declined the offer of new room and the associated hassle of moving rooms.

They offered to reimburse our food purchases and one was and the other not reimbursed. While talking about food, Kim and her team in the restaurant did a fantastic job. The live music on Sunday afternoon was great as we had a dance. The hotel up the road also does great food.

Later that week we emailed and asked why the second food bill of $ 36 was not being reimbursed. Someone wrote back providing all the details about the bill - obviously unaware of our problematic weekend.

If they offered us say a discount voucher for one night or even half of one night we would have happily taken it up and added another night for a relaxing weekend away.

It was a real shame as the rooms are gorgeous and the food and service in the Irish pub was terrific.

Finally, a number of staff mentioned the whole complex (Motel and Pub) is up for sale - perhaps this explains the lack of interest in our issues.
