Hello everyone, I would like to share my detailed experience with GWM. I purchased a HAVAL H6 Hybrid in 2023 from GWM kedron , Brisbane, and unfortunately, it has been a very disappointing journey. I have experienced multiple serious issues, including hybrid system battery failure where the car completely stopped and wouldn’t start, wipers failing… Read more

three times (once during heavy rain, which was very dangerous), transmission faults, and an extremely noisy AC compressor that has already been replaced once and is now failing again.

In addition, the windshield had to be removed twice, and several other issues have occurred more than once. What is even worse is the customer service. Communication is extremely poor, with delayed or no responses despite multiple emails and calls. I am still waiting for approval for my AC compressor and transmission repairs, even though the compressor is under warranty.

I am not alone—several of my friends who own the same car have faced similar problems, often around the same mileage. This clearly indicates a possible manufacturing fault, yet there has been no recall or proper action from GWM.

Overall, this has been a very frustrating and stressful experience. I strongly recommend doing thorough research and reading customer reviews before considering buying a GWM vehicle. Thanks

Disappointing Experience – Avoid the Haval H6 I purchased my Haval H6 in June last year and honestly regret the decision. Since owning the car, one of the brake discs has already rusted, and there was a water leak in the boot—not what you’d expect from a fairly new vehicle. The worst part has been dealing with the warranty/service department. Or… Read more

rather, trying to deal with them. It’s been four months since the issues started and I’m still getting nowhere. Reaching someone is next to impossible. If you don’t believe me, try calling them yourself—if you manage to speak to someone, congratulations, you got lucky.

Overall, the quality of the car has been underwhelming, and the customer service is downright rubbish. I wouldn’t recommend this car to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere.

Very impressed – Excellent car I’ve done 6000 klm the safety features like lane keeping and emergency lane keeping can be a little annoying but all new cars now have these features and you get used to them and can turn them off but it’s not that bad it has heaps of power and great on fuel around town 5.6litres per 100 highway 6litres per 100 for a car this size… Read more

it’s fantastic I would definitely buy another Gwm haval the Chinese cars are definitely worth looking at test drive and see for yourself

Definitely worth a second look – I have had my H6 now for 18 months and it has 29k on it. I have had no mechanical issues at all. There are a few annoying features , mainly the emergency lane keeper feature which has to be turned off each time you start the car, this feature I find is quite aggressive and dangerous. While driving around a corner the cruise control can drop the… Read more

speed considerably scaring the crap out if you. Also too much throttle on take off will cause the wheels to spin, I'm hoping the first set of tyre replacing will fix this. Apart from a few things I love it and will definitely replace it with another Haval hybrid. I sold my 10 month old Rav 4 to purchase this in Feb 23. The Haval I find has way more power from the 1.5 L turbo motor than the 2L Rav. I was a staunch Toyota man having owned 6 previously but I am very happy I switched to the Haval. The new range of Havals are very much improved over the first lot we seen enter Australia years ago. Would even look at a Cherry model these new imports are definitely worth a closer look.

Haval is not committed to a quality product – At 20k a hole in the carpet matt under the driver's foot appeared. The service centre staff said that this happens to all H6 cars. They know exactly the problem and have been fighting with the manufacture for years and still not getting any approvals. This makes me feel upset and it's a clear sign that haval will not stand behind their product warranty. We will be looking to sell this car now because we can't trust it. Show details

So many features, amazing price – This car is packed of features, more than many more expensive cars in the market today. After extensive research and test drives, this car was clearly on top. It has a solid feel, with quality interior. All functions except the most common (eg: AC) are accessed via the touch screen. The engine is very responsive, and clearly efficient, after doing… Read more

250km, the fuel gauge is still on full, so my wallet is happy. I love this car and highly recommend it

We know of 3 of these in our wider family.. Chinese with global tech help.. but something you want to be careful off – My HEV..ie electric / Battery is very very good .. BUT the over controlling "INTELLIGENT DRIVING" can be.. if left ON during different unexpected conditions.. ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS.. Super danger to the driver and people following. who do not. .like you... .expect the car to start vibrating.. alarms .. worst of all the without notice ...… Read more

deceleration on a dime about 20 - 30 or more Kph just because in normal linkage or slight bends..it senses a normal center barrier or white linage on the road that may be old or additional.. You HAVE To turn this off EVERY SINGLE TIME you drive it. Its so bad it can pull you easily a meter either way....have somebody run up your rear.. especially bad in the wet. Its OK in the streets but the warning buzzers, bells - flashing lights.. its a real distraction. I don't want this on.. regardless of some statements it part of a global safety campain..its NOT safe... its dangerous.. I know the dealers know about this .. but its definately NOT a sales point. The H6 is otherwise very good.

brand new car issues within first few weeks – so i bought the haval h6 hybrid, very nice looking car with a price tag of 48k in brisbane. car was working fine until the first courtesy service of 1000k, front radar started showing fault and self parking features stopped working. took it to the dealer 3 times and on couple of occasions car was there for more than 3 days. they can't locate the… Read more

fault after replacing the radar. they said have to call in haval people. regretting the purchase seems like this will not be a good purchase wanting to return this but no luck. Update - After 1.5 years of use. The initial problem was fixed by dealership with radar replacement. After that i haven't had any mechanical issues with the Car. The only 2 things i would think are the issues with this car= 1. The Microphone in the car when connected with apple car play or android auto is horrible. Other person cannot hear anything most of the time.(they need to fix this it's in all Haval h6 hybrids). 2. Stability on high speeds needs to be improved. Other than these two things i have no complaints about this car.
