Bought used H9 from reputable dealer in apparently great condition. After 1 week it died. Dealer took back the H9 and provided a loan vehicle, traced the issue to an electrical fault and replaced battery. All good..... for 1 week, then died again. Dealer took H9 back, provided loan vehicle for the next 10 days and was unable to trace the serious… Read more
electrical fault. Offered us another vehicle (Subaru Outback) in replacement, which we happily took. Very happy with the dealer's support (Subaru), very disappointed with Haval H9.
Haval are cheap and nasty – Dont buy a Haval.. We bought one new in 2022 and if we knew it was going to be discontinued because it was trash we would have bought a better brand of car! This thing had issues within the first 5000kms and since then a multitude of issues including a new engine. Yes the car is roomy for a big family and nice inside but at the end of the day it… Read more
is a useless cheap piece of chinese cra..... We are currently goign through QCAT for a full refund under the lemon laws and although the dealer offered us a 28K refund we thought that was a joke. Dont buy one of these cars or the brand period.
DO NOT BUY A HAVAL – 2019 Haval Ultra, so I was told when bought to find it was a Lux. I have been to 2 dealers with sensor issue and the local representative said no issue after both the dealer having the car a total of 8+ times and dealer principal stating he drives and has never heard of any of my issues. issues: -lane departure took 2 years to replace under… Read more
warranty -Coolant sensor replaced -All 4 tyre sensors replaced due to being faulty and the dealer principal said never heard of it. -Shifts from auto to manual and back again whilst driving, Also is in auto when first start or at a traffic light and then goes into manual -Transmission sensor replaced -Ring around fuel filter replaced 3 times, Haval said won’t replace again, it’s rusted again -ECU replaced at about 30k, and new still has errors, service manager said new ECU doesn’t hold errors -Radiator reservoir blu a hose, actually it just was loose, want to charge me $450, was still under warranty and part was $27 which I got in a week and they took 2.5 months -Every service I have had to take back, not stamping log book for warranty, scratched the whole front engine cover from left to right -Put too much air pressure in tyres and warning light came on, had to back again as to why -Engine temp sensor replaced -Shifter sensor replaced, still goes from auto to manual - Bolts holding rear rail lights in rusted, car washed twice a week and garages -Nearly didn’t pass a road worthy for an oil leak as mechanic at Haval dealer didn’t wipe away excess oil at a service
With all these issues to be resolved under warranty I had to book in to check the faults, then book again when parts arrived, so you can imagine how much I spent at a Haval dealership in the past 3 years
People here is my best advice below, video evidence can’t lie!!!
To have these fixed I had to install a go pro on my steering wheel as both the Haval dealer and Haval Australia said no of these issues happened, I have 50gb of data to prove and was the only way to get things fixed under warranty.
Like the roominess and some of the features, but it’s a LEMON.
I am a rideshare driver and can only work very early in hot weather and a few hours at a time now.
Car washed twice purchased as a business vehicle and that’s all it’s used for, not game to go for a holiday as I know it will break down.
I get it serviced every 10k as dealer advised, and they have now changed the oil in the manual and what was being used from 5w40 to 5w30, I even contacted china who advised dealers have to use Manaus recommended oil, even Castro states, 5w40.
The Haval H9 Exceeded beach driving expectations – Have had my Haval H9 Ultra series for 3 years now and I can not fault it. It is very comfortable to drive and has all the bells and whistles you could want. We have taken the vehicle off-road beach driving to double island point in QLD and it was smooth sailing, let tyres down to 18psi, selected sand mode turned off traction control and it plowed… Read more
through soft sand, the cars power well and truely exceeded my expectations in 4 whee drive mode. I would say the only negatives about the car is that yes it uses a lot of petrol and it doesn’t come with apple car play or a built in navigation system other than that it’s a thumbs up from me.
Great car but issues with sunroof and Haval dealership – Had this car in Central Qld new since 2021. Love the size, build and features. Unfortunately Haval warranty seems to be a real "Unicorn". Wife was driving the car and sunroof glass fractured OUTWARDS, was not hit or struck as no glass came down and no impact point. Took photos and went straight to the dealer. Dealer refused to accept that sunroof… Read more
fractured for no reason. Came back after an inspection and said they found an impact point. Asked for him to show me and unfortunately glass had been covered up again. Would not look at the photos and point it out. Luckily my insurance company agreed to replace it under my glass replacement clause. Took 9 weeks for things to be sorted as insurance company questioned the quote of $9587.00. Just had the sunroof replaced now the front windscreen has cracked.Love my Haval car but Haval not so much.
Good bang for my dollar – The H9 is great a good allrounder vehicle and has coped easily on the 4x4 tracks and water crossings up to 80cm in depth, while remaining in the Auto mode only. The comfort is excellent I found for my personal needs and passenger/s when carried. The cargo space is more than enough for most people. My main use of the vehicle is on sealed surfaces… Read more
and it's good to know that the vehicle has the ability to use the Various driver selectable 4x4 modes should they be required. I am happy with my vehicle and have covered some 55,000km with no dramas. Depending upon the standard equipment level that you prefer, You get top value for your dollar compared to the competition and saving thousands of $$$.
I love it until now – Hi I love my Haval H9 it’s just like the prado but without the price tag I have rated this car to everyone just have to be careful one day I put my kids in the car and key in my bag in and the car locked on me lucky my child was able to unlock from inside but still a good car. Until I have had no issues until today serious problem my car just… Read more
stopped in the car park and would not drive engine was still running than would go into reverse or drive and wouldn’t come out of 4x4 waiting to see what wrong with it was scary as raining also once it decided to drive again the traction turned off it was very weird like it had a mind of its own.
Value for Money, big time. Don't waste your money on the "poor" brands with bigger problem's – Used daily, tows well, good around town and off road. Serviced at service intervals just done 29000klm hasn't missed a beat. Been amazed by the amount of people asking where to purchase one. Show details
Best decision ever! – The car gives you best value for money, with it’s features and drive comfort. It is powerful enough if you’re not looking for a thrill of a race car, and towing of a transportable house with V8, 5L turbo diesel. Plenty of space and excellent build quality. Show details
Great vehicle – Brilliant vehicle. Traded a 200 series as I had issues with dpf, Park brake, automatic lane assist, poor infotainment and just boring. Switched to haval h9 and took the risk. So far.... i actually look forward to driving this vehicle. No issues as of yet. Just great capable automobile. Half the price, double the warranty and more. So far.... better vehicle. Don't know about reliability yet but no issues and feels solid. Show details
Dont do it - omg - you will throw money away – TERRIBLE HAVAL . CARS- I Have 2 x Haval H9 - OMG they are so bad. Absolute Crap - NOTHING but problems. The parts took 7 weeks to arrive. 1 Car Motor blew up after 54,000 klms and they wanted $15,000 to fix it. I have a company with 40 Cars and never owned cars as bad as Haval. You will loose so much time and money if you buy an Haval. Regards Mike Show details
Great value for money – Only had my H9 for a few days but overall love it, only negative I have is the reverse camera talking to you when putting the car in reverse. Time will tell how this car holds up for it is def great value for money. Service pricing seems ok for a new car, some of them, a little expensive but not quite as expensive as some car manufacturers. Very comfy to drive, massaging seats an added bonus and actually very pleasant to look at. Show details
