It works until it doesn’t – This does clean the pool quite well and picks up a lot of the sand we have. The bad side is that in the approximately 5 years we’ve had it we are on failure number 4. The first two were warranty. The third was just out of warranty but they partially covered the repair after some arguing. This time I think it’s time to surrender and move on. Not recommended. Show details

Absolute piece of complete junk....fails on all counts! – A 20 'x 40' in ground rectangular pool... Do not consider purchasing this pool cleaner, not if it's offered to you for $20... complete trash! I already took it it to the selling dealer and they tell me there is nothing wrong with this cleaner...it's just a badly designed pool cleaner....I expected more from a name like Hayward...their filtration… Read more

pumps are incredible, alas not in the case of pool cleaners! Facts: I place it in my pool and do a full cycle of cleaning....misses 80% of debris sitting at the bottom ( small leaves, small dead bugs and the usual debris you get in an outside pool) I believe the cleaning cycle is a 3 hr cycle...it's just a waste of time employing this cleaner to clean and maintain your pool....it misses vast amounts of debris...it climbs up to pool ledges and kinda stays there....There is no "programming" within this product at all....it's random movement that means nothing to cleaning a pool....I used to "vacuum" the pool to 100% awesome results....my only issues with this is the huge amount of water you shoot out your "To waste" filter setting...depleting your water level in your pool which calls for topping it up....honestly, if Hayward offered me this piece of junk for $20 new I would decline....it's a complete red herring, Do not purchase... looks nice and modern, but it stops there....next year this piece of junk is doing to the local city dump, guaranteed!.....crossing Hayward off my pool cleaning sweepers list for good :-(

It works.. until it doesnt. Then the real hell starts – The motor stopped at the beginning of summer. The people at Haywards in Sydney say theyll pick it up. That took two weeks. Then they had it for more than two months...OVER SUMMER. So I did get it back, with a new motor, in February after a gruelling summer, and then at the start of the next summer... the motor carks it again. Pool had been covered… Read more

all winter so there was no big clean up to do. More silliness from Haywards. Im promised it back in two weeks. Ill let you know but thats what they said last year... for more than two months. As for the machine? It works, well, but its very heavy to pull out of the water, needs daily clearing, the hose connection has TOP I printed on it, but silly me, you dont put that at the top when you plug it in, that imprint is to be at three oclock.
