Long term problems – I have had my S200 for around 19 months. It was 10 months old when I bought it. So it is Around 2.5 years old. When it works, it is fantastic but unfortunately the older it has gotten the more unreliable it has become. I have lost count this year how many repairs I have had done. More than 10 this year. It is back in the shop again and now needs another new motor after only having the motor replaced less than 12 months ago. So a $500 repair. I have seen advertising that says that these cleaners will last up to 10 years so the two year warranty doesn’t matter. It matters. I feel like as soon as mine was out of warranty I have had nothing but trouble with it. I am now facing the prospect of paying $2550 for a new cleaner as it feels like I’m throwing good money after bad with my old cleaner. Buyers beware that you may only get two years or so out of this cleaner. When I contacted the company the response was defensive & unhelpful. They took no responsibility for their product and advised that I must have cleaned the pool too many times...

Best pool cleaner I have ever had – The Dolphin S200 is an ideal pool cleaner that picks up all debris and does the job perfectly. Having had various other types of cleaners that rely on being connected to the pool filtration system and run when the pool filter is going do not do as good a job as these standalone systems. There is a big saving on running costs and a lot less use of chemicals because the Dolphin S200 stores the debris in it is own easy to clean canister which means that no dirt particles end up in the pool filter which also means less backwashing of the filter. I am particularly impressed with how clean my water is now and how it mangers to clean the walls, side tiles and the complete pool. The Dolphin S200 is an attractive machine and has no noise when operating is easy to clean and operate, just put it in the pool and push the start button and the pool is completely clean in two hours. It is recommended to remove the pool cleaner from the pool when not in use and when the pool is being used. I have noticed a big saving on my time, chemicals and power costs since converting to this type of pool cleaner and highly recommend this product.

Long term review. Inherited a pool in new home which had a Dolphin M5, this failed 3 years after we moved in and since it worked well we bough the S200. Our pool is 10x3m and is Magna mineral (so low chlorine). We used to leave the M5 in the pool permanently and run twice weekly cycles, but after that failed we were told to never leave the new… Read more
machine in the pool. We take it out after every cycle, noting is also needs to be run 2-3 times to clean the pool effectively even with the fine mesh filter. After 3 years the motor failed, we replaced the motor as it was out of warranty. 2 years later the motor has failed again. This is unacceptable in a $2,000 pool cleaner and says a lot about the make and reliability of the product. Maytronics customer service were no help and simply hide behind their legal obligation of the warranty conditions. Given both the repeated failures and Maytronics’ unwillingness to stand behind the product in these circumstances, I do not recommend this product. I had hoped Maytronics would recognise that this is not a case of normal wear and tear, but rather repeated failure of a major component, and would demonstrate confidence in the quality of its products through some level of goodwill support.
I've seen lots of positive reviews for this pool cleaner. They are either fake reviews or I was just unlucky enough to buy a dud machine. About to take it for 2nd repair in 10 months since I bought it. Poor cleaning performance, poor wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, which regularly drops out and won't reconnect. Add to that cheap plastic internal… Read more
components that have broken several times...all in all a very disappointing pool cleaner which has put me off Maytronics/Dolphin completely.

Best purchase – After Years (5) of dealing with a pool cleaner that did an average job, I finally decided on the Maytronics S100. My pool is 7 x 3m, and in 20 minutes, it had cleaned my pool like a pro. I love that it is super easy to use, light enough for me to lift out of the pool, and easy to clean. Show details · 1
Sit back and let the Robot do the work! – Since purchasing the Dolphin S200 I have been able to enjoy my pool so much more. Cleaning the pool used to be so time consuming especially manually cleaning with the hand-held catcher. It's now just a matter of plugging in, turning on and letting it clean. The robot scrubs the waterline tiles and picks up all the leaves that blow into the pool. It really has saved me so much time and effort. Would definitely recommend! Show details · 1
Best thing I’ve ever bought – This machine is easy and effective. Means we can spend more time swimming and less time cleaning. Show details · 1
S200 dream machine – I’ve been using a SWASH TC (the yellow model) for 2 weeks 3HRS per day. I clean the filter after every use day there is less & less algae in the filter & it scrubs the waterline as well does a lot better job than the old pole brush. I live in a rental property with a pool the salt water chlorinator doesn’t work but the dolphin still keeps the pool clean, I’ve now purchased an S200 as I had only borrowed the SWASH. Best decision I’ve made in 35 years – Maytronics Dolphin S200 Best decision I’ve made after owning pools for 35 years was to replace all of those Barracuda, Krreepy Krawly , Aldi ( and a few other brands I have been though ) with a Maytronics Dolphin S200. There is now no massive suction hose to get in the way or fall apart . The amount of rubbish found after each cleaning cycle… Read more · 1

Don’t bother… when it works, it’s great. Easy, cleaning and maintenance is simple and small for storage. However, whilst it’s still under warranty, I have already had it serviced/repaired multiple times. It’s always something - broken tracks, new… Read more
motor, new impeller door…. It’s just time consuming. I’m back to the old manual vacuum and am happier, other than my failed $2000 experiment.
Follow-up · Whilst in warranty, customer service was great. As soon as warranty expired, they were no where to be found. Repair wait times were very long - 1 of the instances was in excess of 1 month. I called repeatedly and, in the meantime, the pool just got worse. After 5 weeks, I called and they said they had called, but they hadn’t. The other 2 service… Read more

This pool cleaner is very easy to setup and use, I love the phone app that allows me to control all aspects of its operation from anywhere. Cleaning the filter basket and filters is much easier then my old Maytronic cleaner. Show details · 1

Dolphin S200 Best Pool cleaner I have owned – Dolphin S200 is the best unit I have owned (I have owned a few different cleaners over time). I had a Zodiac robot that died twice in 3 years. I purchased the S200 5 years ago and had my first issue with it just before Christmas 2025 (our big pool time). I went to the supplier who sold it to me. He worked out the issue in 5 minutes that the track… Read more · 1
was on backwards. Someone had accidentally done that the week before. He had a tech look at it, and the tech indicated it needed some parts replaced. Because it was just before our big pool use time, I decided to get the rebuild done. Initially, the agent indicated I would have to get it done in the new year. but his tech just said, "Give me a minute." He grabbed some spare parts they had in stock and serviced it completely in 15 minutes and sent me on my way. So the robot itself has been great, but my local backup service has been absolutely brilliant. I was literally speaking to the guy who sold it to me originally and apologising for even calling them about the unit because it had been so good
2 months in, very happy with S150 model – So far great & really happy with it. Only 2 months old but very very good at cleaning the pool including up the walls and edges. Filter system gets all the fine dirt out of the pool as well as any larger items such as leaves. Our pool size is only 6m by 3m so maybe bit of an overkill but better too much than too little! Pool cleaner works ok but doesn't do the rounded corners on the wall or at the bottom of the walls. As the cleaner doesn't map I have noticed that it doesn't cover the whole pool and often have to run it 2 or 3 times. I wish I was able to afford one that mapped the pool but that was over what I could afford to pay.
I've had it for 3 years now. First robotic cleaner I've owned. The fibre filtration and top load basket is very good. The cable swivel never worked at all. Poor design.. This coming from a electrical engineer with several years of experience in industrial instrumentation and process controls. Designed to a price. Friends more expensive and… Read more
largerdolphin has much better SWIVEL... but they have had to replace drive motor twice under warranty and are concerned about reliability once warranty period runs out. My control box failed after about two years. Button pad stop working. Cleaner favours particular side of pool so you need to help it my manually moving it to other end. I guess if I had bought fancier version it would have been able to map pool area (?) so this would not happen. Will research others brands next time. I'd like to think for that kind of money their is a brand that can work like a dolphin...but is bit more robust. Could be naive :)

Had this Pool Cleaner for 18 months. Has worked fine up until it just would not climb the walls and would move 30cm and stop then move 30cm and stop, repeatedly. Sometimes it would just sit there doing nothing. I contacted Maytronics as it was under warranty. They just gave me the run around, waiting a week before replying to my emails, asking for… Read more
details on the pool chemistry and for more details on what the Cleaner was not doing. Basically just giving me the run around and using delay tactics rather than just saying fine, it's not working as it should so bring it in for repairs.
I took it to someone and they replaced the motor and now it's working fine again. The motor should last for more than 18 months especially when only used once every two weeks in pool season.
But the really annoying part is the complete lack of effort by the Maytronics Company to acknowledge or comply with a simple request for warranty repairs. A lot of money spent on one of these cleaners, so not happy with their lack of service.
I suggest people really consider other brands: A) because motors should last longer than 25 uses, and B) Maytronics will stuff you around if you need to get it repaired under warranty.
3 stars for the product, 1 star for service.

The performance of my Dolphin S100 was fine up until a few weeks ago when it stopped covering the whole pool and started going to one corner and "getting stuck" going backwards and forwards for short distances. I took it to my pool shop and was told it was one month out of its 2 year warranty. However, Maytronics covered the repairs under warranty… Read more · 1
which was a pleasant surprise. I give the product 4 stars because when it's working it does a good job, and I appreciate that the repairs were covered by warranty even though technically they could have refused this. But it's not great that there were issues after only 2 years and 1 month.

Long Term Review 2.5yrs on I bought my first Maytronics M series pool cleaner 15 yrs ago. The power supply failed which was to be expected so given the quality I had experienced with the Maytronics product, I decided to buy another Maytronics pool cleaner. be noted that this unit was permanently left in the pool and was set to clean the pool twice a week and just cleaned sand and very small leaf litter. It is still permanently left in the pool to this day. I purchased a Maytronics S200 pool cleaner on 8/11/22 for $2,250. From new, its always taken three or so cycles to clean the pool and if you put the fine filter into it, it simply fails to clean the pool at all. It was returned within 6 months as the plastic clips that hold the lid onto the water tight compartment had perished and failed, flooding the electronics. The lid on my old machine was held in place with screws. Numerous other plastic parts had also failed. This was repaired by the pool shop without question. They said I cant leave it in the pool. My question was why, the last one sat in the pool for 16yrs with nothing wrong with it. From this day on, the machine has been removed from the pool after every cycle (x3 cycles) without fail. The S200 is now 2.5 yrs old and at present, it looks worse than the 16yr old unit. • The machine has intermittent stop/start faults. • The front cover on the power supply swells on a hot day in the shade, rendering it unusable. • The on button sticks and you can’t turn the unit off. • The umbilical power cord to the machine has perished with a sticky tar like substance all over it. This has stopped the swivel from working correctly so now the machine entangles itself in the cord by ingesting the cable through the rollers. • The rubber door flap is continuously found floating in the pool. It’s not broken. It’s just another part that has perished prematurely and is all sticky due to the degradation of the polymer chains in the cheaply manufactured rubber. This includes the tracks. The rubber turns into a blue tac like substance. I have now had to screw the flap to the machine with a piece of aluminium flat bar.
I feel Maytronics have dramatically change the manufacturing quality of their product by using substandard polymers, but still charge a price associated with a high end machine. This is deception. I will NEVER buy Maytronics again and feel I need to inform others so they can make an educated decision.
Message to Maytronics: Very disappointed in your corporate strategy to cheap out on your manufacturing and not lower the cost of your product to reflect its new level of quality.

3 stars – In contrast to vacuum robots that armed with high tech sensors and cameras and AI algorithms, these underwater robots still in stone age wandering around blindly. These machines no matter what brand are produced by few companies that have monopoly in this market. So come to the key points: - Coverage: You run it as often as you can to increase… Read more
the coverage otherwise it covers 70% of the pool and picks up 50% the dirts and leaves. Daily run is not enough to keep outdoor pool clean.
- The industry design is like 80s Soviet Union style, no human experience considered, it works but you don't enjoy the interaction with the machine. For example, every single moving part of the filter, is directional like old USB2.0 port, you will make mistakes, retry and retry and wanna swear every time you trying to put something back together. Another example is the anti tangle swivel does not work well you still need manually sort out the cable after a few runs or the cable will tangle and be shortened and limit the coverage of the robot...
Now you just hope it won't die just 2 weeks after warranty. If it last 4 years I would give it 5 stars. I have a feeling that in 5 years there will be a company like Tesla that disrupts monopoly with revolutionary pool robot cleaners.
Disappointing – I tried hard to like the S400 for well over a year now, but there are just too many annoyances, especially for a top of the line machine. I'd expect this of a $300 machine, not a $3000 one. It does a reasonable job of picking things up. But we have a large flat step at one end of the pool (ca 2mx1.5m, 50cm height) and it fails to climb up and… Read more
clean that 95% of the time.... So I have to manually brush that end of the pool (and yes I contacted support, and the conclusion was the robot just isn't that smart/good).
What I find most frustrating is the usability though. The app is very slow and buggy. I can't integrate it with google home. I think it works with Siri, but I have so many problems keeping the wifi connected, that I've given up.
If you want to clean the pool, just be prepared to wait a minute or so for it to load everything before giving you the option to hit clean... may as well walk to the filter and hit the button.
As mentioned, it constantly loses wifi connectivity and it will never reconnect on its own. You have to go through the whole painful setup process again. Most of the time that process does not work. I have a $20 wifi plug right next to the Dolphin power supply - the wifi plug performs flawlessly, and I reckon I've had about 10% up time on my Dolphin over the last 18 months. It is such a pain to try to reconnect it that I've basically given up and resort to using it as a dumb machine. Finally the anti-twist cable seems to only partially work... my machine still manages to tangle it all up, which then affects how much of the pool it cleans....
I'd be very happy with this machine if I paid $300 for it, and was not promised so much capability that clearly doesn't work. In this case, paying premium pays for premium marketing, but not a premium product.

Disspointing – I agree with all the views and complaints about the performance of the Dolphin Pool Cleaner after 3 years. 3 years ago I asked my pool guy to get me a pool cleaner that would the job and that I wouldn't have to worry about. He recommended the Dolphin and I relied on his recommendation and paid $2,200. Within the first 3 years didn't miss a beat,… Read more
the day after the 3 years its just stopped working. Like everyone else when I made an inquiry about repairs I was told becasue the warranty had expired that I would have to pay the cost of the repairs. This appears to be a defect characteristic to all Dolphins based on other reviews. From what I am able to gather by the Maytronics responses to adverse views, they effectively say that because we as consumers had the benefit of the product for 3 years that we ought to be grateful. This is an extremely disappointing approach, and of course, does not mean that consumers of the Dolphin Pool cleaner don’t have legal recourse against both Maytronics and the manufacturer. As an experienced class action lawyer, I am currently investigating a class action on behalf of all purchasers of Dolphin Pool cleaner, which at the very least will ensure that repairs are carried out without any cost to the consumer. Dolphin S150 upgrade from Zodiac robot – I've recently purchased the Maytronics Dolphin S150 as an upgrade to a failed Zodiac 4WD55. The Dolphin s150 has the swivel and caddy as part of a promotional pack, so was reasonable value at about $2K. So far the Dolphin is an upgrade in every way to the Zodiac robot, but especially: * It is smaller and lighter than the Zodiac * It gets into the… Read more · 1
corners that for some reason the Zodiac just did not go to (7mx4m pool) * Dolphin filters collect fine dust and debris by default. Our Zodiac required us to buy a seperate smaller micron filterbox, that still did not clean as well as the Dolphin * The filter box is a breeze to take out and insert, but the Zodiac always felt like the lid was going to break when I closed it.
So far, I'm super happy with the Dolphin, and escatic with its cleaning. I did not buy a 'smart'/connected version, as I don't really see the need for a pool robot, and I'm not really keen on having lithium batteries sitting in my pool.
I can't yet comment on longevity, but my Zodiac was repaired once during it's 5 year life, ($350 later) and I just couldn't do that a second time when it was 5 years old.
Failed reliability – Very disappointed with this cleaner. Purchased January 2021 and 3.5 years later it has stopped working and requires a repair cost of $680.00 The power cord continuously tangles due to no swivel being fitted. Meticulously looked after so not impressed that an alleged quality brand has failed after such a short period. Would not recommend. Show details

Questionable build quality – The S100 pool cleaner does a good job at cleaning our pool. However, I question the build quality. Game changer – After countless suction cleaners, we finally caved and got the Dolphin S200. We have a pebblecrete 9mt pool and this robot is incredible. We used the suction cleaner first, then put the robot in to see the difference. OMG the amount of small dirt particles and slime we found after the first go was discussing.....but incredible!
