Perfect 10/10 for debris collection. Terrible 2/10 for dust – Awesome vacuum cleaner for collection of debris leaf, mulch or small twigs. Unfortunately if dust is your main issue - don't waste your money.
- Pool Size: Large
Not a complete pool cleaner – The Aquavac 650 works well in removing large items such as leaves and seeds in quantity which is great when you work away for a week at a time. It climbs the walls well an gives a good scrubbing all over. It is simple to empty but it is not just an open and emptying function as shown in the brochure. It needs manually cleaning lodged items and flushing with garden spray every time. It can fall over when climbing walls, stop functioning entirely because it takes too long to get covered by water and controls are very average. However its major failing is it doesnt filter out particles smaller that fine sand and the hyrocyclones simply chew up the discharged flakes from the chlorinator and spew them out as fine material. After a few weeks, every time you use the cleaner it simply lifts the fine particles of the bottom and clouds the whole pool. It means that you need to vacuum the bottom and sides fortnightly, at maximum, otherwise the fines just build up on the bottom like a muddy bottom of a creek. Hydrocyclones generally work in a very narrow range of material size and this is a classic case of fail or needing a better secondary filter system.
