1 Disappointed  · Avoid – Cheap rubbish, made down to a price. No amount of adjusting and nozzle cleaning would get it to work reliably and we binned it after about 20 uses.
1 virginia  · Terrible pump on spray 2 litre bottle – Poor quality on pump had 3 fail within 3 months. never again.
4 Robert G.  · Trigger failed – Trigger has stopped working can I fix or get parts and from where
1 Seano  · Hills 5L sprayer – I've only used it twice and now the plunger just pulls straight out so there is no way to pump it up. Waste of money.
1 Sue  · No good – I just put water in to test the sprayer and the lance leaks. I have tightened the part as much as possible but it seems to be a bad design.

Rubber disc at base of plunger distorted by folding upwards and coming off plunger Bought repair kit . Kind of works but seems to require a lot of difficult pumping for poor spray output. Not impressed. Rubber disc may have been affected by Roundup spray. It should be able to cope with garden chemicals. Show details

I give up. This is my third and last Hills sprayer. There must be something better on the market that lasts for longer than 6 months and a handful of sprays. Inevitably, each unit's spray function just dwindles away to nothing. How are these still being sold all these years later when they're clearly made of remarkably cheap materials? Show details

Hills Heavy Duty Garden sprayers are good quality and indeed heavy duty, as they have reliably sprayed my orchard for a number of years without any issues. I have not had to replace any parts - but it is important to remove and clean the little… Read more ·  1

metal filter in the head of the spray arm regularly to get a good spray. I check it after each use as it can block up quite quickly. Other than that, the rest of the spray arm causes no issues, so maintenance is minimal. It is a reliable sturdy product.

Follow-up  · I have not had to replace any parts, but cleaning the arm out and checking washers, which means taking the nozzles off regularly to clean and check the parts especially the filter, is essential for optimal problem-free spraying. Without regular cleaning they will clog up. The product has no faults in my opinion if maintained well. I spray… Read more

This is what I call service!!! – The trigger of my 'Hills Backpack Sprayer 12L' started giving problems after 7 years of using. I tried finding a replacement part but I just couldn't find anything anywhere. I contacted the supplied directly explaining the problem that I can't seem to find a spare part for it. I was sent the following reply to my email request: "The only spare… Read more ·  1

parts we have available for the Backpack Sprayers are the Lance and Nozzle Kits. This does not include the Trigger or Hose assembly. The warehouse team have since advised me that they have a replacement Trigger assembly they can send out as a good will gesture. If you could please reply with your current residential address."

That is what I call service. Thank you from the bottom of my hart for this!!!

Still going strong after 9 or 10 years, maybe more – Update April 2025 I’ve had my Hills 5 litre sprayer for quite a few years now. I’ve never had to replace seals or nozzles in that time. All I’ve done to the unit is wrap Teflon tape around all of the threaded fittings. Does not drip a single drop anywhere. I use it regularly to spray herbicide, pesticide and copper and sulphur on fruit trees and grape vines respectively. Can’t believe this product has received so many negative reviews. Show details ·  1

Hills garden sprayer not worth the money you pay for it – Hills 5 litre garden sprayer brought in January 2024 and used about 6 times and stop working I checked for leaks etc and found laying in the bottom off the bottle a rubber square shaped item. No better then the cheap ones on the market – I have a Hills 8 litre garden sprayer that would be barely a year old and has split the tank. It has always been kept in my garage when not in use and out of the sun. Would not have been used any more than a dozen times. I may as well buy the cheap ones that last just as long. Never again! Show details

Poor quality – Bought one of these sprayers and went to put it together and there were no Orings to seal off the wand tubing. How hard is it to put 2 Orings on and where is the quality control? These are the negative effects of poor quality Chinese made rubbish. Show details

Terrible waste of money – First one would not pump efficiently. I thought it was inexpeeience so purchased a second one. The second leaked weed poison all over me as I was spraying. What did get sprayed onto the lawn was so fine it had little effect on the weeds. Bunnings should read these reviews. Show details

Cheap junk – I'm amazed Bunnings stills sells this piece of useless plastic. You can pump til your blue in the face and, if you're really lucky, you'll get a tiny dribble of liquid that lasts about 1 second. Stupid me for buying a second one thinking the first unit must have been a lemon. Nope. The second one was just as useless. Show details

Seal no good – Here I am my clothes soaked with garden chemicals again. Hills plastic sprayers put the spray on you instead of the trees. The 1 litre unit works for one short usage period, if you're lucky. The seal quickly deteriorates. Before you can say "Made in China" the unit is useless. Why are you selling this Bunnings? Try Taiwan.  Show details

Pressure lasts 5 seconds – No matter how many times you pump and build up pressure, it just has one short spray burst then dribbles out. Filter is clean, nozzle is clean, intake hose is clean. Makes no difference. Wish I could buy a decent sprayer that I can just grab and spray without having to stop and pump every 5 seconds.

good for recycling – for some reason the output pressure would reduce even though the container was pressurised. also it was back breaking work due to the wand being too short. [i am average height of 5 foot 10 ]. Because of this it was not easy to use as i was constantly bending over to get close to the weeds. It is in the bin now after one use. Show details

They dont stock parts, you drop it your up for a new one – Rang company because being a 80 dollar machine you would think they stocked parts, the unit fell over on me and cracked the lid that holds the pump in. No go, would not buy another Hills product if they don't care about their customers problems. Went back to purchase place of Mitre 10 and to be honest they were very reluctant to help also. They… Read more

begrudgingly contacted the Rep after personal persistence. Waste of my time over a 2 dollar plastic lid, but that is what they want isn't it, throw away society.

Many sprayers just dont work – We have tried so many expensive and cheap garden sprayers including Hills, have yet to find one that works. The latest one Ryset bought today doesn't work. Pump it to the exact amount of pumps Though we adjust the nozzle as per the directions, the solution dribbles out and stops after exactly 1 - 2 seconds and have to pump again, Hills reacted the same. We refuse to use deadly Roundup instead use a great organic one. Show details

Hills 5ltr spray pack – OK. have had that spray pack for about 2 years. Only one spray nozzle supplied but thats ok but the spill tray at the top over time crimps the plastic tube due to the large cone and it restricts the flow. Would not buy again. Bought a nylex 5ltr heavy duty and all is good and a lot cheaper. The wand holder on the Hills is rubbish and will break… Read more

Waste of money – Don't waste your money on the Hills 5 litre pressure sprayer. I have bought a few and they last about 6 months max before the trigger/valve mechanism misfunctions and you cannot turn it off. I have cleaned them out, reset the seals, time after time but hopeless. Have learnt my lesson now, keep your receipt, you will need it. Show details

Terrible Product – I have now had 3 Hills 16L spray packs and they have ranged from being faulty on arrival to lasting a very short period. Issues have been from spray wand leaking on me to just not working at all. I had 3 because the supplier kept replacing the faulty units but I have now given up and looking for a reliable manufacturer.

Not fit for the purpose intended!!! – Looks the part but that is where it finishes. This issue was bought to their attention over a year ago by another reviewer, seems that they really don't care to make improvements to fix the issues related to their sprayers. 5lt Hills Sprayer – Purchase sprayer ay 3-4 yrs ago. Has been sitting under house for over 2 years because the handle trigger off/on switch wont switch off. Only way to stop is to let the pressure out and that is really a nuisance. Appears you have a problem here.
