Hisense makes NO sense! – Purchased 18/03/2023 from Harvey Norman This unit won't turn on about once a week. Tv turns on - blank, deep blue screen. Remote doesn't work anymore, can only turn it off by removing the power cord. Usually after a few hours (overnight) it works again as it should. Every time there is a software upgrade it's guaranteed not to work anymore. Had the motherboard replaced - didn't fix the problem. Second complaint and request to fix it has been ignored

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $590.

Very poor picture quality – The functions of the tv are great. Kayo, YouTube. The picture quality is diabolical. This was the replacement offered by Hisense as my tv broke under warranty.

Great TV with three problems (that could be anoying) – The picture quality and price of this TV is excellent however this model Hisense Smart TV (43A7HAU) has the following three problems. 1. Sometimes when using the internet the TV can lock up (freeze) and only pulling out the power plug will allow the TV to operate correctly. As there is no Hard wired on/off switch only pulling out the mains plug will unfreeze the TV. 2. On every occasion when I watch STAN, Netflix, Youtube or any on line (via the internet) application, the internet drops out (on a regular basis) and I must re select STAN, Netflix, Youtube or any on line application to re connect to the internet. I have three Samsung Smart TV's and this fault only occurs on my Hisense Smart TV. This problem may be due to the limited internal memory of my Hisense Smart TV as I sometimes get a error message indicating limited memory. 3. When viewing dark scenes the brightness of the picture varies (goes slightly darker then returns to normal dark)

So if you would get annoyed if your smart TV's internet connection (not an actual Internet failure problem) disconnects from the internet 2 to 3 times while watching a movie then this is not the Smart TV for you. Also, if you intend to use this Smart TV for access to the internet (using the browser) then maybe this is not the smart TV for you.

If however I am just an unlucky person who has purchased a Hisense 43A7HAU smart TV that has faults that can be fixed by the manufacture, I will happily apologise/remove this review.

Great value for money – Paid $540 for a Hisense A7HAU 43A7HAU (43") TV including delivery and removal of my 14 year old 42 inch Panasonic plasma TV. In hindsight I wish I’d paid $100 extra for the 50 inch model after realising that the thin bezel meant that the 50 inch model would fit in the limited space I had in my bedroom. Picture quality is good. The TV is far better value for money than top of the line OLED models which probably only give a marginal improvement in picture quality. It took me ages to get the picture the way I preferred because of the large number of options available. Understanding how the operating system works was trial and error and took a long time. Hisense should provide a manual to make it easier. It's backed by a 3 year warranty. The value for money is excellent.

Purchased in at Bing Lee Physical store for $495.

High performance but many bugs – Compared to my older TV, I was initially impressed with brightness, color, and update speed. But over some weeks, the following 9 symptoms I experienced I think could be described as 'bugs', non-user-friendlinesses' or just not my preference: 'Bugs': 1/ The sound lags behind picture by up to a second, despite trying all Sound settings and using internal speakers, headphones, ARC, SPDIF or Bluetooth. 2/ PVR recordings are often given the previous program's name, which I found made it hard to find a program in the list. 3/ The Scheduled list can omit programs marked for a reminder in the Guide. 4/ In the Guide, a program's description is sometimes that of a previously selected program, as if text had not been updated. 5/ Once, a recording continued for 5 hours beyond program I selected.

What I find non-user-friendly: 1/ When playing and recording a program simultaneously, the TV cancels playing when the recording is complete. 2/ Time Shift and Record are conceptually similar, but differ in the buttons used to control them, which I find hard to remember. 3/ The Reminder message doesn't change the channel. The intention may be to avoid interrupting the program being viewed, but if the TV isn't constantly watched, I find the message easy to miss. 4/ During a dim scene, the TV seems to dim further, and brighten if already bright. I'd prefer the opposite. I stopped this by switching off all the auto screen enhancement settings without seeing appreciable quality reduction. I've yet to find the setting responsible.

Overall, the interface seems polished, but with quite a few holes. The TV felt like a shiny new toy at first, but now I find it a lot of work to use. Perhaps Hisense are encouraging me to get the next model.

Purchased in at Bi-Rite Home Appliances for $699.
