Strata Trap - Terrible Strata Manager – Unprofessional, adversarial - added fire to disputes = increased fees. Very poor understanding of OC legislation. Owner [Name Removed] unhelpful, arrogant, made threats, behaves like a bully. Hive's alignment with Steadfast Insurance = high insurance costs. In my experience Hive are typical of the problematic Strata Managers featured on ABC 4Corners 'The Strata Trap' on iView. Self Management better option. Hive's positive reviews questionable - it's easy to get staff & friends to write them. We regret our decision to engage Hive Strata.

'The Strata Trap' ABC 4 Corners - Rip off Strata Insurance & Management – Hive Strata….. just like many other profiteering strata managers (in my experience). ABC’s 4Corners Investigation ‘The Strata Trap’ (see it on iView) shines a light on the dodgy practices of Strata Managers. The ABC also highlighted exploitation by the Steadfast Insurance Group. Hive is associated with Steadfast and the owners of Hive Strata are Authorised Representatives of a Steadfast owned Insurance Broker CHUISAVER and refer Steadfast owned Insurance companies (CHU, Flex, Axis, QUS) to O.C.’s they manage. Our OC asked Hive if we could arrange our own insurance. Hive said if we did they would increase their management fees to compensate for the commission they would lose – for doing NOTHING! How is that ethical? The quote we obtained for insurance independently was 50% LESS than Hive’s insurance. Think twice before engaging Hive - in my experience they don’t act in the best interest of the Owner’s Corporation. Hive Strata's principal has a poor understanding of the Model Rules & Legislation as evidenced in a failure to follow the dispute resolution process and provide advice/guidance re OHS concerns. Furthermore, the insurance example shows how much they rip off owners. Self-Management a better option.
