Terrible Purchase – Purchased 2016 Colorado MY17 from Mazda dealership. Car only had 60,000km on it, thought great buy. Found out Torque converter had been replaced only 9000km earlier, and after a week driving, it kept slipping into neutral and then slamming into gear ( even reverse). Took it back to Mazda, they blamed Torque Converter again, sent it to Holden who… Read more

claimed it was fine. Another week went by same thing happening, dropped it to Mazda and said its getting dangerous. After another diagnosis, problem was traced back to transmission ( as I had told them previously). Long story short new transmission was installed after them having the car for 4 weeks. So now a car with under 63,000km has a new torque converter, new transmission installed. Does not leave me with any confidence with this vehicle at all. What will the next issue be?????

Good ute but trade in value pathetic – Bought LS ute in 2015. Had engine replaced under warranty after 30000kms due to excessive oil use, with good service by Holden. Ute now has only done 66000kms which is about half red book estimate (motor has only done 35k), has still got 5 months warranty left and has over $7000 worth of accessories fitted, but Holden will still only offer red book value of $20k as a trade in on a new ute. So I won't be buying! Show details

RG1 great for what it is – Purchased the RG1 as a workhorse in Oct 13. 5 years on, have replaced alternator (warranty @ 3 years 115k) and Air Con compressor @ 180k. 210k and just fitted 3rd set of tires (100k per set), drives great and auto is as smooth as any car I’ve driven. Towa 2 1/2 ton of boat beautifully. So happy with it, I bough a Z71 RG2 in Oct 2015 which is a bit… Read more

smoother (110k) and no issues. I drive both of them hard and service when due. Neither leak or use oil. We do a lot of highway and interstate Ks and find both very comfortable on the road.

LTZ RG Colorado 2012 - 2013 – Vibration throughout the car Who's pinion seal doesn't leak? Who's passanger seat doesn't wobble like a mofo without a body sitting on it? New valves needed just before 100,000km shat itself. Wish I kept in and put a gen3 in it tho. Other than that.... They're POX be cautious if you're buying one aye.  Show details

Blown Head Gasket – Well, just completed service at 120K.This vehicle has had a very easy life.No towing, very little off road ( Fraser, Bloomfield)never overheated and always driven conservatively. But it has a leak from the cylinder head gasket at right hand rear of block.Using a very small amount of water.I would have thought this engine would have lasted a LOT… Read more

longer before needing major surgery.I have been told by two mechanics that they have seen a few of these models with the same problem. Not happy or impressed at all.

Been around Australia towing 3 tonne with 400 kg in the tub. Not one issue – Bought my 2012 LTZ dual cab auto in Feb 2013 as a work car in my plumbing business. This car carries up to 700 kg every working day ( I installed airbags in the back) and its ride is more comfortable than my wifes 2010 Prado. With this load it does 13L/100k in the city 10L/100k freeway. We did a 18000K trip around Australia towing a Jayco… Read more

Sterling tipping 3 tonne with 2 kids the wife and I with not one problem. Not even a change of oil in that time.

After our trip I serviced it - (Capped price $280), loaded the tools back in it and still hasn't missed a beat at 55000 ks.

After meeting others on the road and hearing their misfortunes about blown engines in the mazda bt-50, I think the Colorado is great value and recommend it to anyone.

Rough clutch – Bought a brand new 2013 Holden Colorado LTZ 4x2 Crew Cab and within a week started having issues with the clutch. When depressed to make a gear change, the clutch feels rough like a sort of grinding feel. Took it back to the Holden dealership who had it for a couple of days to replace the clutch disc and and pressure plate. Drove it out of the… Read more ·  1

dealership and noticed a change straight away but by the end of the day the clutch was feeling rough again. Taking it back to Holden to hopefully get it sorted and really get stuck into them. Not happy at all considering it's a brand new car, everything should be running smooth with no issues. Fuel economy is great, heaps of space, love the interior and overall look of the car. Only issue so far is the clutch.
