I have replaced fuel hoses and return line under the bonnet but still seem to be sucking air. virtually no problems when tank is more than half full. Prognosis, I think that there is a problem with the fuel line from tank to under car??? Do I have to take the tray off to get to the rear replaceable fuel line

My 1992 TF Rodeo braking performance needs improvement. Discs on the front, drums on the back. What is the best option/products? I would like to avoid having the hassle of recertifying them if I can avoid it. Just want the most optimum set up.

, my Holden rodeo turbo diesel 4x4 2002 2 door ute, has an issue with shifting into 3rd 4th 5th and reverse? Do I need another shifter or another gear box

Hi Tyrone, the Rodeo is normally a fairly strong Box but they did have a tendency to develop a sloppy gear selection in the gears you have mentioned. If this is the issue with Yours, it can be rectified by Removing the Center Console to access the ( Gear Selector Plate/Bush and Gear Control Box ) These Parts can be addressed without removing the Gearbox. If on the other hand the problem is deeper in, Eg. ( worn Synchro Assemblies ) preventing the shifter to go into gear, it is better to get the whole Gearbox Replaced with a good Second Hand Unit, I always ask the Wrecking Yard who supply the box, how much for them to replace, their price is usually hard to beat. Always ask them to confirm the Fault B4 commencing Work, and also ask them to refill with Synthetic Gear Oil. They will give you 3 Months warranty and frankly if the box lasts for a month it will last for many years with normal driving. Good Luck and all the Best ... Information supplied by MechCare

How do you know when starter motor is not working

Not turning over, but you can roll start it... Change starter motor Good luck

Red Belly

Hi Benigno, Rodeo Starter Motors can be a little hard to access for testing and removal, most Qualified Mechanics would Jack up and fit Safety Stands under vehicle. They would use these tools to diagnose fault - 12V Test Light or Multi Meter, Reliable Jumper leads, a Known Good charged Battery or Starter Pack and an Assistant to switch ignition for them. Here are the faults he will be looking for -1 ) The Most Common - ( Flat Battery) 2) No Power (12V) From Ignition ( Small Connector at Starter) when you turn the Starter Key, 3) (Faulty Battery Terminals or Battery Cables) that carry Power to the Starter from the Battery, The Mechanic will usually just Bypass these functions with his own wire, Jumper Cables and Known Good Battery for a speedy Diagnosis, Once the proper function of these systems has been established the Mechanic will deem the Starter Motor as U/S. Then he should prepare a fixed quote of ( Replace Starter Motor, Including Labor and any other sundry Parts he or She has reported with a minimum of 12 Months Warranty ) All Starter Motors have a Solenoid switch fitted which switches the Heavy Currant to Starter Motor. If this switch is faulty and the actual Starter Motor is still OK, you can operate Starter by Bridging the two Main Terminals on the Starter ( For Emergency Starting Only) In the Old Days, these Solenoids were replaced but if you want a reliable repair " Replace the Whole Starter with a New or Refurbished Unit " As always, we recommend you present the vehicle to a Qualified Mechanic for a Safe Repair but if You choose to attempt this yourself, make sure the Vehicle is in Neutral Gear, make sure there is no open fuel anywhere near the test area Before trying to start. Cheers and Good Luck ---------------- Information supplied by MechCare

Can you take a 1999 Holden Rodeo light 4WD nothing to extreme? if so what mods should be done to do so.

Red Belly

The TF Rodeo is a strong Off road Performer, A bit of weight in the tub will help the Rear Suspension Flex and Grip. A good set of Mud Terrain Tyre's will improve the off road ability a lot, BF Goodridge is a trusted Favorite. They are not cheap, they are not quiet, but they do last and they will make you think the Rodeo is unstoppable. There are plenty of cheesy crap Brands out there so be careful, The TF had many different Tyre size configurations depending on the Chassis Number. If you ring around for prices, have yr Chassis # ready, Don't forget to let yr Tyre pressures down in most Off Road situations, so you mite want to think about a good 12v Air Compressor to re inflate for the Black Top. https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/thumper-air-compressor-mkii-tyre-deflator-kwiky-thumper-air-hose-extension-4m.html Another wise addition if yr Vehicle is Diesel, is an Air Intake Snorkel, If water gets into yr Diesel Air intake, it will stop and never go again :) Hope this snippet of info was helpful Molly.
