Toaster was a great price at $26 but you get what you pay for. Only toasted one side of bread. The other side was still soft. Took it back and received a refund. Show details
I've bought about 2 of these in the past and after awhile they seem to make the fuses for the apartment go off. So I bought a new toaster ( not anko) Not buying anko products again. Show details

Bought 2, 1 for me and 1 for my Coeliac husband, toasts, normal and gluten bread and crumpets just right. Very happy with the toasters. Have had for a month without a problem. Show details · 1
Follow-up · Very easy to use the controls, I use the frozen bread button a lot as my bread is frozen. Just a normal time to toast bread, not super fast, but I'm ok with that. I like that it isnt really wide or long as I have to have two on the bench.

Toaster can be a fire hazard – I am usually satisfied with Kmart Anko products, but after the experience with a toaster outlined below, I will not be purchasing any Anko electrical products again. This happened not long after the 12 month warranty expired. I inserted two slices of bread into the toaster and pressed down on the lever to turn it on. Within a few seconds the… Read more
elements began to grow bright red and it looked like the whole toaster was about to catch fire. Luckily I was standing nearby and was able to immediately turn it off. I hate to think of what might have happened if I had walked away until the toast popped up - definitely a very serious electrical fire in the kitchen!

Kmart, if you are reading this, I’d be happy to drop the faulty product off at your Camberwell (Vic) store. Just give me adequate details to advise the store so that they will understand what this is all about and who to pass it on to within your organisation. You should take this up with your supplier. Products like this should be designed as 100% ‘failsafe’, i.e., any fault should result in the activation of an automatic power cut-out to avoid any possibility of a major catastrophe.

Anko 2 slice long slot toaster – Bought one a few weeks ago. Does a reasonable job of toasting, including thick slices. Only use it occasionally, so can't comment on long term satisfaction. Only problems I've found so far are: 1) The lowest setting seems a bit long for raisin breads, and can burn some brands. 2) Cant lift up the toast mid-cycle to check progress Show details · 1
Works perfectly for the price – Excellent bargain toaster, works well, never had any issues. The heat setting is pretty high and it toasts quickly. It's quite narrow and difficult to clean, but if you wanted a bigger toaster then you probably should have bought a bigger toaster (I wanted a small one for my small kitchen). Show details · 1
Cheap, does the job – It works. It toasts great. It just looks cheap because it is cheap. I've bought two in 7 years. I'd buy again for convenience. The settings work as they should. Show details

waste of money as it doesnt last very long. bought 2 with 1 lasting 5 weeks and 1 blasting barely 1 use with both developing the same issue with the pop down lever breaking Show details

Works but simply too small for anything but the smallest bread. Crumb escape is hampered by small hole size. in the bottom. Some crumbs just cannot be removed. For the money, if you just toast white sliced bread it might be fine. Show details

Failed when warranty ran out – Toaster stopped working 2 weeks out of warranty. Kmart refused refund or exchange. Other similar priced toasters have a 24 month warranty- anko only has 12. I doubt it had toasted more than 5 loaves of bread.

Cheap for a reason. Short life span – It worked well for 9 months then it started tripping my fuse box 3 days in a row (4 times on 1 day). I moved it to 3 different powerpoints connected to different fuses. I finally took it to repair shop. They saw sparks fly and said they foolproof their shop so customers like me dont burn down their shop. I didnt keep the receipt and could not get a replacement. Stylish for a non popular brand toaster – I wanted to buy a relatively cheap 4 slice toaster Anko 4 slice stainless steel top/grey body to see me through till I either move or renovate my existing property. I had a Breville 4 slice stainless steel toaster for years & years but finally started to become more difficult to get the lever to stay down. It still cooked perfectly but just… Read more
frustrating when I’m a hurry. I would recommend to spend the $150 odd on a popular brand one. This toaster doesn’t cook consistently even. Leaving it on a desired setting, one time pops up white & other times more cooked. This is using the same kind of bread as that can make a huge difference. Of course you have the option of popping the lever back down but then have to watch you don’t burn the toast. Intermittent cooking in a toaster can be catastrophic if not watched closely.

Anko 2 slice toasters – This is a substandard toaster - had to return two of them as they were not toasting properly - just on one side (half cooked) - even the defrost function does not work as its meant to - product should be pulled off the shelves. not fit for purpose waste of electricity. If your a family of Polly Pockets, you will love this toaster! – At a bargan cost of $7.50 look no further! This toaster will fit circular crumpets and some gluten free style slices of bread. If your into Abbots, Helgers, Wonderwhite or Tiptop, you might want to reconsider spending the extra cash on a regular sized toaster... However if $7.50 is all you can spare on the family toaster and your hell bent on… Read more
full gluten bread, be sure you cut the crusts before inserting into the 2 indervidual slim gills. Full slices of bread will not fit in this toaster and could be a potential fire hazard. If large slices are forces into the slim grills they will jam up.
This toaster is NOT designed for the normal sized slices. It is an absolute waste of money.
I personally spent more in fuel money driving to my nearest Kmart, buying and shortly there after returning the usless item.

Load of cheap garbage – 4 slicer was so slow it dried out the bread and elements were not glowing the same. Big W had a $69 toaster oven. Much better quality, dual functionality and cooks toast properly

Unfit for Purpose – We use Abbotts and Aldi Bakehouse bread for toasting and neither bread will fit all the way down into the toaster. So this toaster is absolutely useless for our toasting needs. Show details
Potentially dangerous and the locking mechanism fails easily – LOOK CLOSELY AT THE EMPTY-MECHANISM before you buy a toaster: This is very badly designed. It's almost impossible to get toast crumbs out. They end up all over the electricals of the toaster. The difficulty means many won't even bother, leaving the crumbs to build up at the bottom - a fire hazard. (Instead of a simple trap-door, it has a slider… Read more
at the bottom that lets the crumbs fall into ANOTHER collector, which only empties at one end of the toaster. For a start, it's very difficult to get (the inevitable) large chunks of toast out) Also, the toaster has failed to lock the toast down twice. One after our 40 minute attempt to clean it. Kmart should be ashamed.
Anko Toaster LD T7006A worst I have ever had – The toaster set on full does not toast the bread. I use different toast loaves purchased at major retailers. The bread only comes out slightly toasted and needs to be put back in the toaster again for more time. Show details

Good for a cheap toaster – Thin breads seeded bread and beagles. Settings work well cooks bread evenly however tall or larger breads require flipping. Works well for a two slice toaster doesn’t stick or jam unless bread too big Show details
Blew my fuse ,used for about 6 months then now need to discard – Quite disappointed with this toaster, I realise it's cheap but I hoped it would last for more than 5 months or so, settings were haphazard and it was pretty basic 2 slice model, but went to use it a few days ago and it blew my fuse. Does not cook the top 2cm of bread! – How is everyone giving this toaster such good reviews? I have to flip my bread half way to cook evenly. I'm returning this after bearing with it for few weeks Show details
Kmart 2 slice toaster – The Kmart 2 slice toaster does offer value for money, it toasts bread quite well. Although the slits are quite small, don't buy this toaster if you get thick cuts, crumpets or Helga's type breads they are too wide to go into the toaster. As long as your bread fits ok it won't get stuck. Show details
Not happy. Still looking for my next toaster – I jinxed myself! I wanted to treat myself to a new toaster, preferably one with wider and longer slots that can accept a variety of breads as well as split English muffins, bagels, crumpets etc etc. After perusing the options online at Myer, Appliances Online etc and balking at the 3-figure prices, I decided to visit Product Review before I… Read more

Hmmm....after reading the reviews of my shortlist, I abandoned the idea and decided to stick with my trusty, Coles no name toaster and keep on loving it. I wrote a positive review ... which was rejected as I could not find a name on the toaster, then ....the toaster died with a shower of sparks.
Hoping to repeat my good luck with a cheap plastic toaster, I bought the nicest looking one, a black Anko from Kmart.
Aargh! Not, not, not happy!
Yes it toasts, but it’s either under or over done. Let me explain: I choose a “3”, underdone. I choose a “4”, ack! Overdone. To get the golden toast I want, I have to choose “3” then pop it back in and choose “1”.
Then, sometimes the toast rack won’t stay down. Other times, it won’t pop back up.
I’m back to pondering what to buy. Any suggestions fellow reviewers?
Great for $7.50! – This toaster costs $7.50, and it's fine; you just have to work with its flaws. We live in a rental with a small kitchen, so this is just a temporary toaster. It will only toast about 3/4 of the height of a small piece of bread (e.g. Woolies loaf) - you have to flip it over to toast the other end! BUT, even expensive toasters tend to brown one side… Read more
more than the other and you sometimes have to flip those anyway, so it's really no big deal. For a temporary contraption that gets used once or twice a week, it will toast your bread just fine. I like that it's so compact and simple.
Cheap as chips – I paid $7.50 for this thing because I craved toast after throwing out my old toaster a year ago. It works fine, except that you can't fit a toast size piece of bread into it. A plain white bread slice is fine, but it can't handle the fancy breads without jamming the piece into it. Can't really complain cause it does the job Don't expect anything fancy beside a defrost mode. Show details
Not worth it – Causes our power to trip and only lasted about 2 weeks. Can only fit small slices of bread so very limited to what you can toast. Better off spending more for better quality . Show details
Cheap and working well – This toaster works well and it's very cheap. It doesn't take lots of space in the kitchen. It makes good toasts and it doesn't take long. It's lightweight and easy to use and to clean. I definitely recommend buying this product. In my opinion, it is one of the best cheap product at Kmart. Show details
Don't buy this one – If you want the basement brand you expect it to be ok but not fantastic (I buy the cheapest toaster because I rarely make toast) but this only toasts on one side unless was you turn it around half way through. Id try another if you dont want to stand there and watch it Show details
Cheap but good toaster – I recently bought a K Mart 2 slice toaster as it was so cheap (7,50) that I thought it was worth trying. I had the idea that I would either return it to K Mart or throw it out if it was no good. But much to my surprise I can't fault this toaster so far. It cooks the toast quickly and evenly, pops the bread up when it should, and is easy to clean. What more can I ask for as I have had much more expensive toasters that can't compete with it. Great toaster! Wasn't expecting that – We bought this toaster to get by until we bought a better one. We were quite surprised to find it actually made really good toast. The only issue it has is the size of the slots which aren't really designed for artisan loaves (keep the slices thin and rotate to cook the other end) but for your standard sandwich loaf it's perfectly fine. Its ok for the money – Bread slice won't go all the way down in the silly little thing. And it isn't wide enough. How hard can it be? Show details
