HoMedics Salt-N-Soak Pro Footbath with Heat Boost FB-630H-AU

Disappointed with this purchase. A bowl of water with Epson salts would provide a similar experience. Massagers are very light on your feet so hardly make an impact. The pumice stone is so soft it does nothing. It requires quite a lot of water to fill to minimum level. Do not recommend.

Country Feet Saviour – Let me preface this review by describing myself. I am a SAHFM (Stay At Hobby Farm Mum) and I never wear shoes especially outside; even in the paddocks, in the shed, in the veggie patch, in the chook-pen *gross* *Ahem* well let me tell you these feet are the crustiest you’ll ever have the displeasure of seeing and that is a gross understatement. Anyway I digress… I instructed the hubby to buy this for my birthday after doing a little investigative work into the world of foot baths and let me tell you, after only two uses, my feet are close to OF standards now, ready to bring home the bacon with happy-snaps of these trotters. But first, let me sell you this foot bath…
Pros 1: Salts Unlike many other foot baths/spas whose instructions forbid the use of anything other than water, you can add Epsom salts; it even has a little distributor for it, which is a huge selling point that is unlike most of the competition. Trust me, you'll want the salts in there! Downside is, I can’t really find any info on using any other type of additive other than just pure Epsom salts, so it may only just be that unfortunately.
Pros 2: Scrub Comes with a built-in pomace stone. Unfortunately, this removable pomace stone is hard to use in situ, you can get a bit of a rub going onto it, but it’s in such an awkward spot that I ended up just removing it and scrubbing my feet with it. It’s definitely more of a pro having this feature even if the use of it is a bit clumsy. The rollers are not mechanical, you just roll your foot over them and they will turn over, kinda like a fidget spinner for your feet if I think about it.
Pros(Cons?) 3: Temperature There are 3 heat settings. The heat is insanely intense on 3, I mean like almost melting temp and even my feet (with their own leather coating) couldn’t handle it on its highest for long. The lower settings then feel way cooler by comparison. I think you need to start on 2 to get a good outcome. For those who like very hot water for long periods of time, I would definitely recommend this model for you and your volcanic feet. Pro tip: start with hot water to get your soak on quicker and for as long as you like. Keep in mind they do mention in the instructions that using the foot bath for extended times will shorten the life of it…. well duh.
Pros(Cons?) 4: Size It’s huge! No joke, Bigfoot herself could fit her bad girls into this thing. However, if you have limited space, then you might look into getting a collapsable model instead.
Pros(Cons?) 5: Bubbles It only has a bubble feature, not ‘bubble jets’ like the name "Foot Spa" implies on the box. They are literally just bubbles and very gentle, but that might be a good thing for those who have ticklish feet. I think the bubbles are more to just move the water around so the water temp can stay even and would prevent the heating element from burning out, hence why you need the jets on to have the heat going…
Cons 1: Noise So as I mentioned, to have the heat on you must have the bubbles going and unlike the bubbles being gentle on the feet, they are not gentle on the ears. You may want to have your headphones ready to drown out the noise of the pump, it’s freaking loud! So for those who are noise intolerant, and are content with a short soak, you’re probably better off just using a bucket to be honest. For those who have little banshee crotchlings like I do, then the loud white noise from this machine is what you’ll crave!
I think the husband is impressed as much as I am, so I’m ready to hop on the good foot and do the bad thing. Brb
