This mower is my second Honda mower, my first Honda i purchased in 1982 and gave it to my Grandson in 2024 still running and still starting on the first or second pull, my new Honda is much easier for me to push having bigger wheels and also starts first pull, the catcher is excellent easy to remove and empty and the mower uses a lot less fuel… Read more
than the old one, what else can I say, i am so happy i stuck with Honda and at my age it will still be going strong long after I have gone.
Honda has lost the plot , can't be fixed – After toying with a battery mower, I decide to return to a petrol self-propelled mower to replace my aging Honda 19. To my relief I discovered that Honda had released an 18" self-propelled mower a bit lighter than the 19. All the reviews seemed promising although a bit odd that they originated from Europe, but that's where they're made. Went to my… Read more
local dealer & everything matched my expectations. He did warn me about the fixed speed (quick) drive as it was my first SP. Got it home, read the manual & away I went. To give myself time to adjust to the SP I chose a section of open grass & used the mulcher. I soon got used to it, pulling & pushing around trees etc., Everything was fantastic. Did a section of couch lawn & what a beautiful cut, but then looked down at the catcher. grass clippings were flying out from under the flap and all over the engine base. Catcher was in place & yet it was only quarter full after 20 min mowing. Emailed Honda for help & instructed to return it to dealer to be checked. A shout out to Paul from Brabham mowers, who did everything to it that Honda instructed. Paul confirmed that it was a design fault with the catcher & Honda could (or would) no longer help. Disappointed because the mower is great, but only if you want to mulch or have lush green lawn year-round. The mower is for European weather not Australian dry heat, that burns the grass tips. Honda has lost the plot with this mower as it's not the full package that is expected from this Brand! It has been returned.
