Over 13 years old and still going strong – I purchased this Hoover 500M top loading washing machine in 1999. It still works as good now as it did when it was new. The 500M has a stainless steal tub so I never have to worry about rust staining my white clothes after many years of use. Another great feature of the 500M is it has a button trap that stops buttons and coins entering the drain pump. I emptied the button trap after 10 years of use and found a handfull of coins.

I had to replace the water drain hose after 5 years of use for a cost of 19AUD. The drian hose is made from a cheap plastic and split above the rubber fixing mount that connects the hose to the drain pump. I also had to replace the hot water intake valve after 10 years of use. This valve cost 30AUD and was easy to replace.

Overall the Hoover 500M is a very good machine and has lasted the test of time. Reliable and long lasting, Australian Made Drain hose made from cheap plastic

Purchased in at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $499.

Good – Has seven different washing cycles. We have had for a couple of years and never had a problem. Works really well. Holds a lot of washing as it has 5.0 litre capacity. We bought it when we had a child and it has definately served its purpose! Washes clothes brilliantly No problems as yet

Long lasting! – I have owned the Hoover 500ME for many years without any problems making it a very reliable machine that is well worth the money. It is easy to set up and use and although the capacity is a little on the small side it sufficiently kept up with my families needs. I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes to get value for money. Efficient, hardy can be a little noisy, not very energy efficient
