worst washing machine – Worst machine ever and expensive I thought it would be good, but it’s terrible! Doesn’t dry the clothes properly so when you dry them on the line they dry all stiff and crunchy! My mother in law takes my towels to her house and washes then there that’s how bad it is! Also some functions have stopped working! Massively regret not doing my research  Show details

A very frustrating machine – I'm sorry to say i really dislike this washing machine, it is the 7kg model and yes whilst you can put 7kgs in to wash the weight of the wet clothes throws it off balance and i constantly get an error E03. there is no point in saying it will wash large quantities when clearly it cant handle it.

This is a lemon - avoid buying! – Initially I loved this machine. Washed well and performed well. After about 18 months a loud noise happened when spinning. The repair company came out and told me not to use at high spin, but use at half revolution. Trusting them (stupid move) I did as told. A year later the noise happened at half spin. Repair company called again and this time I… Read more

was told that the concrete block to the drum has broken and the machine cannot be repaired. Even with extended warranty (was still under full warranty when the problem originally occurred) the company who was honouring the warranty will only offer less than half the original cost of the machine ($1200, being told only now worth $590). Hoover does not want to know. Feel really ripped off. My advice never buy a Hoover, beware of extended warranties, don't trust the sales or service talk. I would love to name the specific companies involved in this fiasco, but will just say buyer of Hoover beware.

Very happy with this machine – Great washing machine. Bought 3 years ago and so far, so good... no problems. I upgraded from a 6KG washer and noticed a BIG difference in how many clothes I could load. And as it has a 'weigh' feature, I can be assured I don't overload it. Machine weighs clothes and decides how much water to use. It also adjusts wash cycles depending on… Read more

weight.

Apparently it won't run if it's too heavy to protect the machine. Not that I've managed to overload it even when full. A couple of times the spin has not worked as there has only been one heavy (when wet) item in there. It causes the machine to be unbalanced and won't spin so as not to damage itself. If this happens, just throw in a wet towel as well and try the spin again - it'll work just fine.

The machine does limit both max temp and max spin RPM on some clothing types (e.g. delicates). This is to protect the clothes. If you want a faster spin you can always use the cotton cycle at a lower temp - not that Hoover recommends this, which is why they put the limits in place.

3 year warranty was good - and we were able to extend an extra three years for just $100. Well worth it, given my previous Bosch only lasted 4 years.

Another feature I love is the ability to pause and load other items after the wash starts... like throwing in that one sock that got away. You still have to wait a couple of minutes for the door to unlock - but a small price to pay :)

Very quiet when washing - but noisy in the spin (which is not surprising since we have 1600 RPM spin most of the time). Does have a nifty 'night and day' feature to allow you to manually select when to start the spin. Ideal if you want to rush the wash overnight but don't want the spin to wake you.

Some features not very intuitive, so be prepared to read the manual!

My only gripes: 1) you need to press an 'end' button at the end of a cycle to select a new one. Small but annoying "feature". 2) If you open the door when the dispenser drawer is open, they clash and damage the drawer. So, only open one at a time :) 3) Powder can also be left behind in the drawer, so I put the powder straight into the drum (if I'm not not pre-washing).

Leaking and broken shaft at the back of the drum – I purchased a Hoover DYN 9166P Washing machine in Oct 2013, I thought that a Hoover would be a great brand, I place threw at least four to five washes a week. My average load would be 4 - 6kg. The door is leaking water, also, it makes a scraping sound as it is hand rotated. I just have found out the shaft at the back of the drum needs to be… Read more

replaced. Approximately, $400 AUD plus, sometimes it will not turn off and continues to stay on the 1 minute ... to stop it I need to turn off the machine and leave it off over night then I need to put it threw a 14min cycle to reset it. Finding a repairer for the Hoover is difficult. I would say I do not over use or am very demanding on this machine. It still looks brand new but, I am very disappointed that this has happened as this machine was not a cheap one.

Same problem – This is a problem! The detergent dispenser does not empty and fills with water. can anyone help with suggestions on how to remedy the situation as it is 1: a waste of detergent 2: a waste of time and 3: can't be good for wear and tear on the drawer.

Dispenser always has water and leftover powder – It's an ok machine, does a good job with cleaning clothes... however.... machine is loud, so loud that I have to close the laundry door to watch tv and so it doesn't wake the baby. Maybe this is due to the powerful spin cycle? Also the dispenser always has leftover powder and water , have tried liquid detergent but still the same! This is my first front loader and I am not impressed for the amount of money paid.

Dud – It was filthy when delivered. Dryer stacker kit was installed incorrectly. Now 3 months old and broken down twice. Took a month to replace the mother board first time around. Now it gets 4-5 error messages per wash. No doubt it'll be another month to get this sorted. If you're in the market for a front loader..... Don't buy this piece of junk. Eco friendly Breaks down too often. Slow warranty service

What a Releif! – After having a great Hoover, then a horrible F&P (both top loaders) I again returned to Hoover (front loader this time). I love this machine (so far). I have had it for 2 weeks now and it has been great. It washes well, doesn't tie my clothes up in a knot, gets the sweat and grease stains out of Hubby's work shirts, doesn't overly crinkle his… Read more

shirts making them easier to iron, hasn't gone out of balance once, lets me change water levels, spin speeds and start times and lets me add clothes to the wash if I find a stray sock. Admittedly I have to wait two minutes for the lock to come off to add the sock but compared to some other machine where you can't add anything at all I'll take the two minutes. I also love the fact that it uses less water than a top loader as we are on rainwater. Another great feature is the shortened cycle times, 14, 30 & 44 minutes but the full mixed wash cycle is only 1hrish anyway and it adjusts it's time down once it's determined how big the load is.

There are only two downsides I can see so far and they are the fact that is has no finish beep (might have to get a timer) and those horrible sticker for water and energy efficiency they put on all machines drive me mad! They are impossible to get off.

So far VERY Happy :) short cycles, no beep to tell you it's finished washing

Excellent – Purchased this from the The Good Guys in WA for the full RRP - apparently the price is fixed by Hoover, so no negotiating! At this very early stage of ownership I am very happy and have no regrets forking out a small fortune. Hoover have other models for half the price but they seem a little "tinny" in comparison. This machine, though, is… Read more

amazingly quiet and efficient. Stain removal is fantastic - sure using a good detergent is important, but the ultra efficient way the machine operates ensures even those stubborn white marks in the arm pit area come off without a problem. I just hope that it stays reliable. There was a small water leak coming from the water inlet, so I added some plumbers tape to the thread, re-tightened the hose, and now it's OK. I'm not sure if Made in Italy is a good or a bad thing, but the 3 year warranty suggests the company believes in its product. Highly efficient, wide selection of functions, ultra quiet Expensive, leaked water from the water inlet when I first turned it on.

Love it – Our last frontloaded finally bit the dust after 9 years of loyal service.we hadn't planned on purchasing a Hoover as hadn't seen any reviews. level automatically and the wash time based on the weight of the wash.

Its so much quieter than our old machine and uses the smallest amount of water. Have only used the cold water setting so it should be even more energy efficient than the 4 star rating given. Love it

total lemon – I purchased this washing machine because it was a hoover as I thought they were reliable after breaking down 4 times in under 12 months and getting no satisfaction from after sales service I was terribly disappointed, i wouldn't recommend this machine . it is unreliable and takes forever to get someone to look at it for you expensive bad warranty service

Love it. Great buy – After our LG front loader finally packed it in after 10yrs service we took the punt on the hoover even though we couldn't find any reviews on it. It was a bit more expensive than other models but what swayed us was the excellent energy rating (the best for its size), the large internal drum and the 3yr warranty. It washes perfect every time… Read more ·  1

and has heaps of great features. Being able to add items after the wash starts, delayed start time, super quick wash cycles, how quiet it is and it looks great too. Actually there is so many more features that I love but just too many too list.

Only downside if I had to pick one is the top panel. Ours came cracked when it was delivered as unlike the rest of the unit that is made out of steel and plastic the top is a thick cardboard. Andico to there credit arranged a replacement top within a week.

Overall very happy with my purchase. Energy efficient, large drum, 3yr warranty, made in Italy, quietness, its looks, so many features (too many to list) Cardboard top.

Perfect wash every time – This has got to be the best washer on the market... well...in my price range anyway lol. Great! – I was very sceptical of the benefits of a front loader after having always had a top loader. I thought it would be noisy, long and small. However, this 8kg front loader has cleaned clothes extremely well, spun them so effectively that they take very little drying time, is quiet and offers a number of cleaning cycles from 14, 33, 44 or hour and a half long cycles to choose from. I haven't had this for long but so far so good.

Best washing machine ever! – I just love my new washing machine, I can't believe how clean my clothes are, just goes to show how inefficient my old top loader was. I've been raving about it to all my friends. It's the quietest machine I've ever seen, and my clothes come out almost dry. It gives you a choice of washing times, so you can do a quick wash it you like, unlike… Read more

other machines. I would highly recommend this machine, it is fabulous. Super quiet, washes brilliantly. Easy to use once you get used to the button functions. Controls are a little confusing at first, had to read the manual several times to figure it all out.

I would never go back to a Top Loader – This machine washes great! There is no hot water connection, which means that the machine heats the water itself, up to 90 degrees celsius and only heats the water needed for that wash. I first thought it wasn't working because it is so quiet, the cycles are a bit longer than a top loader but the savings and wash quality are more important. The… Read more

1600RPM spin is a bit too much though, the fibres on my towels were flattened after the 1600RPM spin, we found that 1200RPM is the highest you will ever need. Robust, Silent, Water and Energy Efficient, Heats Water Itself, Made In Italy Socks can sometimes get lodged in the door during washing, they eventually dislodge throughout the cycle.

Be aware before you buy this machine – Hoover's new front loader machine. Apparently it is recommended by many salesman but you cannot find many reviews on it at the moment so I had to take their word for it. Washes okay and is a quality machine. Uses only a small amount of water and the cycles are reasonably short for a front loader. Unfortunately this machine will probably last 20… Read more

years! Energy efficient Spin speed says 1600 rpm but this is only on the cotton cycle all other cycles are 800 rpm. To get a decent spin you have to manually run the spin cycle after every wash. Total waste of time and disappointment compared to my previous Whirpool. Also not as quiet as my previous Whirlpool
