What a load of crap! – Don't bother wasting your money on this unit! Won't vacuum on short carpet....except for 1 direction - try vacuuming the other direction and the head locks up. And can't get my money back even with a receipt. Godfreys won't even take the machine back and told me not to bother sending it for a warranty. Never again!! Show details

Cheap and a beast – I see there are some negative reviews about this vacuum but my experience has only been positive. We went to the Godfreys store at fyshwick. The sales guy there was great showing us many different brands with the various options. He could have steered us to an expensive item but he stated that there was a hoover that was cheap that did what we… Read more

needed. This puppy was only about $120 and whilst on the heavier side it is what we need to get up my partners hair from the wool long weave carpet. From the pic you can see that if picks up alot of the finer fluff that our other vacuums simply leave behind. I trialed a Dyson cordless borrowed from a family member at i believe cordless can not work as good as a AC device. The heavy unit combined with the rollers at the front are very effective on broadloom carpets.

Not impressed – I very much wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing. The first time I used this vacuum, the dust bin fell out when returning the machine to it's upright position. It makes a painful high pitched screech in addition to the loud rumble. It's also not very agile when moving around corners or furniture, meaning that it has to be lifted… Read more

periodically (which is heavy on the shoulders). Sadly, this design doesn't permit the vacuum to reach the edges of the wall...leaving a 1-2 inch strip of dust, etc. behind. The very short detachable hose doesn't reach far enough, making it also nigh impossible to detail areas. (If only Hoover would sell an accessory hose extension!!)

Worst vacuum – This is the worst vacuum I have had, it's ok on carpet but as soon as I vacuum my hard wood floors or tiles it spits it back out to my feet. So annoying, so ot recommend. I've only had this for over a year and can't wait to buy a new one Show details

Wheel broke and blew up 1month out from warrenty – Product seemed great at begining then quickly realised its not equipped for wooden or vinyl floors. The wheels are getting stiff so have to push with resistance. It pushes things around on the vinyl so have to bend down to tilt up.. Efffen rediculas. The attached hose is a useless addition as in its useless.. No suction. 17/02/2020 update. One… Read more

Has pros and cons – I bought this for $179. It cleans carpet beautifully, I have a small dog and it picks up the fur really well. I thought I'd try an upright due to back problems and storage. It's reasonably easy to manoeuvre on both carpet and hard floors. It doesn't get up close to the edges, so you need to use the accessory tools all the time, which is a pain… Read more

as you have to disconnect the (short) hose each time. Likewise for upholstery. The cord is short and seems to be in the way all the time, possibly I'm just not used to an upright. It's a pain to empty, simple enough but a really small capacity and because the dust bin is narrower at the bottom, where it opens, the contents don't come out easily. Otherwise, I suppose if you empty it every couple of minutes before it's full, that might be ok. The dust from emptying it clings to the outside of the machine's dust bin, which means that you have to wipe the outside with a damp cloth all the time. In summary, great performance in removing dirt from wide carpet and hard floor expanses, but the ease of use is questionable. I don't think I would buy another one.

I don't recommend buying it – Very disappointed , I have had mine less than 2 years and both back wheels snapped off . I use it only on 2 rooms of carpet and both are small rooms . Do yourself a favour and don't buy it . Show details

Extremely disappointing – After being a Miele user for many years, I decided to get a Hoover as I need an upright vacuum due to back issues and storage. After having this vacuum for 2 years, I gave up and purchased a new one. It is ridiculously loud, it sounds like a jet plane is landing in my lounge room, the wheels always get stuck with something like string or even… Read more

thread and won't suck so you have to switch it off and unwind it which is very hard. You can't vacuum near the skirting boards cause it's so bulky and doesn't reach, emptying it is challenging and you have to shove your finger up there to pull the lint out cause it doesn't slide out as it gets stuck in the narrow compartment, the cord is too short and gets in the way, you can't vacuum a regular sized lounge room and I live in a unit and I still can't vacuum my lounge room which is small, you can't vacuum long carpet, I have a rug and it's impossible, it won't glide along. The cord comes out so you can vacuum near skirting boards but it's way too short and doesn't suck. Save your money and time. I wish I had never purchased this.

Great easy to use vacuum – My Hoover essential has great suction and is easy to use. It is a light vacuum and is easy to move. Nice and compact easy to place into a storage cupboard. It is easy to empty out the big dust bin. I unravel all the cord and it is has been able to reach the power points in the house. I am a very happy customer.  Show details

Love it! Picks up everything! – We purchased this for our two bedroom home that's all carpeted in the living and dining areas and then tile in the kitchen. The suction of this vacuum is amazing! You can just hear it picking up all of the dirt and debris at the bottom of the carpet and not just the surface stuff. I think if I had stairs in my house it would be doable to carry-up… Read more

a flight of stairs. The maneuverability is great! I'm able to fit it under the coffee table and get it close to the edge of furniture and the walls. I do wish the cord was a little longer and that the handle would collapse into the vacuum. To empty the canister there is no clean way to get the debris out. I put it in a grocery sack and then open the bottom to release and a big dust cloud comes out of the bag.

Better than a Dyson – What can I say $500 dollar vacuum I normally use broke, thought I would purchase Hoover on special for $149, Vacuumed 1 room and it picked up everything that the more expensive one didn't . Best vacuum out there I just hope it last me. Do yourself and your carpets the justice they deserve by using this little beauty.  Show details

Excellent upright vacuum cleaner – Very powerful upright vacuum cleaner, not too heavy to handle, glad that I purchased this one. It is good that the cat fur is at the bottom of the dust bin and I don't get dust in my face when emptying it. The motorised power head is very powerful. The cyclonic action system is excellent. I like the green coloured power cord - easy to see it than a black or brown cord.  Show details
