Short life – The battery on mine degraded very rapidly, I can still use it years later, but 8 hours of charge gives 5-10 minutes run time at a clearly reduced efficacy. Much better to purchase a vacuum from a tool brand so that the battery can be replaced. Show details
In-depth reviews
Perfect except for – I had this vac for at least 4 years (am surprised I havent reviewed it). It works excellently over all floors. Problem is its a victim of its own efficiency in 2 places: - because its so efficient, the dust-capacity is woefully small - and in being so efficient in picking up everything, gunk gets clogged up in between the head and vac-body. To… Read more
clean out that out, theres a big red rectangular button at the bottom where head meets body. In pushing that, the two come apart and the gunk can be seen jammed up inside, thereby reducing the efficiency of the vac. Cleaning it out can be a pain. The rollers/brushes in the head need to be pulled apart and cleaned every now and then.
I'm only giving it 4 stars, not so much for the small dust-capacity but the blockage at the bottom of the vac. Hoover should re-design that end with a larger diameter. Otherwise it'd be 5 stars.
Only other gripe is I bought it without shopping around. I paid $149 and when I got home, I jumped on the net to see how it rates, only to find out I could have bought it from Harvey Norman for $89.
Great for the price if you clean it out well – I've had 2 of these vacuums now. My first died around a year old, but my second had been running around 3 years. I believe the first died because I wasn't cleaning out the filter properly after each use. CONS: You need to open the hand vac component and empty, open the round, hinged compartment inside and empty then ALSO pull off the grated… Read more
filter part and tap the dust out or use a toothbrush. Not doing this routine after every use will likely burn out the motor like my first one. I also find I need to declog the base of the vac regularly and remove hair from the rotating brush or it won't pick up much.
The vacuum head also won't reach right to the edges of carpet so that could be an issue if you don't have another vac that does.
PROS: it does a great job at picking up debris of both carpet and tiles, especially for the price. I vacuum every other day and its always full of dust.
Battery life is reasonable. I have a large house and it usually starts losing suction from being full rather than the battery being low
Can't beat the price and it regularly goes on sale at Godfrey's.
Good for 5 or so months – When i originally purchased this vaccuum, i was very impressed. Had great suction, used on lino, carpet and tiled surfaces. I purchases with the intention of using as an in between vaccuum (a messy toddler calls for it alot and dragging a corded one out was painful) it was great for the first 5 months but slowly started dying out. Its a very well… Read more
looked after machine, filters cleaned etc. The power head has stopped spinning, the suction is next to nothing, and the on/off button on the handle no longer switches the machine off. Still being in warranty i tried to claim but have had nothing but issues, so cut my losses and gave up. Fills me with alot of regret and wishful thinking that i got the machine i originally wanted. That will teach me for going the cheaper option. If you didnt have an option and needed something for a small place temporarily it would be an O.K option.
One thing i do have to praise it on is battery lasting. It would do a full 3 bedroom home if i was desperate for a quick clean and still run longer if id wanted it to. Mixed opinion i guess, but it did have its good and bad moments.

Fabulous – I've owned three of these appliances since around 2017. We use them everywhere around our considerably large apartment and just can't fault them. They are efficient on all surfaces. They still operate perfectly. I simply can't understand people who find any problem with this product Show details
I don't see the problem with this little unit! – I have had this machine for quite a while now, using for cat hair and tiles, although the poor suction is an honest opinion, I can understand that it is for small messes and spills, I find that it will pull the surface dirt out of rugs and carpets, but can't pick up heavy particles (eg: cat litter, sand etc), which is good enough for me, I would… Read more · 3
also like to mention that I have a DC04 Origin and a Hoover Action Pets (love it). I usually use this little unit nearly every day, and it has never let me down! And for those that have trouble with suction, I have found putting toilet paper or a tissue between the shroud and filter will trap the dirt, then I will throw the tissue away and place in a new one. It extends the lifespan of the filter; I also regularly vacuum the filter to get rid of embedded dirt trapped (like cat litter).
I love this little machine and it has lasted me a long time and is still going strong, it is very reliable for me and easy to use. Pros: Easy to use, suction is okay, attachments are reliable, pulls a lot of damn cat fur, easy storage and quiet.
Cons: Battery last to 20-30 mins if lucky (small unit so expected), Bristles are softer than a broom, shroud clogs easily (probably too much cat fur) The clip that holds the unit in to the upright stick gets stuck so it falls out etc.
In my opinion I think it was really reliable for $99.00, especially from Godfrey's, however...I would like to see more attachments like a little stretch hose, little motor head and maybe a little extension wand (for cars and sofas and behind crevasses). Plus, a stronger motor along with a longer lasting battery, and possibly better cyclone system or bigger bin compacity.
BAD VACUUM. BAD SUCTION. NO POWER – It doesn’t vacuum the floor properly. I need to vacuum a few times before it starts working. I need to keep recharging it too. It’s pretty much the worse vacuum I’ve ever had. I can’t believe my friend bought it for me as this is so unreliable. I will never so Hoover, so should you!!!! I’m happy to provide more details!!! This vacuum was the biggest mistake of 2020 – The Heritage Vacuum is the child I never had - the suction is so poor that after vacuuming I then walk around my apartment picking up after it. The opening of the vacuum is too wide so particles that the vacuum has attempted to suck into the mouth of the device fall out. The charging cable is also too short, so if you don't have any low to the… Read more
floor power points you won't be able to charge it. I downgraded from a faithful Dyson to save money and went to Hoover- do not make the same mistake I did. We all deserve clean floors, so treat yourself to anything but this vacuum.

Efficient – Used on tile and carpet surface, and it is sufficiently effective on both. However we have a cat and long hair in the family, so it is mainly used on tiles. The roller head is great - fast and suction is good. The dust catcher does fill up quickly, but we live close to the water and our doors are always open and we catch alot of dust etc, so it's… Read more
not out of the ordinary to empty this little beauty after each use.
This is an old Hoover now and it still works perfectly 5 years later.
Good price and solid performance but you also get what you pay for – Got this a couple of years ago and it has been a solid performer but with a few niggles. It is good on my timber and carpet floors but on carpet it can clog up a bit forcing the need to stuff fingers into the piping of the head to remove fluff. Cleaning out and emptying is a bit annoying and fiddly and the filter needs regular brushing out. The… Read more
batter is not li. This is its biggest problem. I have looked after the battery carefully but it is starting to lose charge now and is not as long lasting or strong as it was. Something with auto off on charging would be better. For my first attempt at a cordless stick i must admit it has done pretty good for a $199 unit. I doubt you would be disappointed provided you accept its limitations.
Terrific all-rounder – This vacuum is so well designed and is beautiful to use - so easy to vacuum tiny spaces like bathrooms and behind couches. Goes easily from timber to tile to carpet, it fits back onto the dock easily. Very well thought out in all aspects. I rarely have to drag out the Dyson barrel anymore - I can whip around with my Hoover Stick in no time and vacuuming is actually now quite enjoyable. Never thought I'd say that!! Show details
Excellent Vacuum – This has been really good for me. Good for quick clean around the house and does it job well. Could be a little bit less noisy but still ok. It has a very convenient charger, Just clean and pop it on the charger, It is 2 in 1 so good for hard to reach areas Show details
Worst Vacuum ever used – Worst Vacuum ever! Suction is non existent, wouldn't even give a Hickey. Spits dust back out, and after going over the same piece of floor for a whole minute it still hasn't picked anything up. It has the capacity of my grandfather's bladder, bigger waste of money than when Chelsea paid $50,000,000 for Fernando Torres, in 2011. About as useful as… Read more
as reading glasses on Stevie Wonder.
Like Mount Druitt after dark, I would recommend to anyone out there to stay clear of this product. Hoover should be put in Jail for fraud.

Most useless vacuum cleaner ever – This is an absolute useless piece of crap. It just doesn't have any suction. After using it for 5 mins I resorted to using a broom to sweep the carpet with much better results. Don't buy this pierce of rubbish. Anybody reviewing this please give a one star rating so they can take this rubbish off the market. Show details
what a pile of rubbish – Typical Hoover useless, we purchased a heritage 5110 stick vack only 12 months ago the end bearing in the head melted seized then chewed out the end of the brush rotor, So I rang up the parts department and was told that you cant buy a new brush and bearing only the whole head for $50 and it would take 3-4 weeks to get it from Melbourne to Perth. It looks good and works fine for a while so don't waste your money buy a Still instead Show details
Sofar, pretty good – Got this for a great price on Catch and I had some store credit so it was real bargain. It is the exact solution i needed for our large tiled area. I can do quick tidy up vacs with this and still do the big weekly clean up with the larger machine. Its light and fast and has plenty of power - happy with it Show details
Don’t waste your money – Worked great for like a week - stops working real quick, have to basically hover the vacuum over what you want Picked up for it to actually pick anything up - spits stuff back out - paid 150 - for it to be worth the money they should sell it for like 40 dollars aha. Have a tiny unit and still doesn’t do even close to satisfactory. Show details
Brush stopped working twice! – I had the vacuum cleaner for about 3 months when the brush wouldn’t turn anymore. I noticed it because it barely sucked things up. I got it fixed 2 weeks ago and the brush has stopped working again. The part that opens it up so you can get to the brush to look at it is cheap plastic and can’t be opened without damaging it. Show details
Stopped working really quickly – This is not a good vacuum for everyday use. Lost suction rather quickly as a vacuum. The dust buster part of it is still working fine. I don't think they perfected the removable aspect but then again it was a cheap vac. Buy a Hoover corded Vac if you want good suction. Show details
Great For Tiles – We use this for in between cleans on tiles and our floorboards. It doesn't have the power to do the main clean of the week but it shines for crumb and sand clean ups with messy kids on the tiles. The main advantage is that it is a s quick to get out as a broom so it can clean and be back in the cupboards in a flash. Charging is easy and so is emptying dust. Its a good machine but make sure you are realistic about its power. Show details
Brought from godfreys half price sale so only $99 – Poor suction and that's most important just cheap and nasty but remember cheap.build quality is ok canister is very small don't bother trying to clean the car either battery power is ok for a quick clean up and its also ok on timber floors.noise level is fine but remember poor suction. Show details
Completely useless – We got this to replace a Hoover Linx. We really liked the Linx, we had two of them and would have bought another if they were still in production. This in comparison is utterly useless. We've had it only a few weeks and it sucks nothing, literally. The power head works intermittently but does nothing anyway. It was recommended by the crooks at Godfreys too. AVOID!!! Show details

Lazy person's dream – I'm onto my 2nd one of these, and I will buy it always. It doesn't take much time to charge, and make sure it is charged fully for ultimate power. If using it for a full house clean, you're better off cleaning it all out once you're done, ready to use the next time around. It has great suction. I just rely on it so much, especially when you don't… Read more
feel like lugging a huge vac around the house. Purchased both at Godfrey's and are on sale often enough.
Extremely disappointing – This vacuum lacks suction. It doesn't pick up much at all. Doesn't allow you to pick up things close to walls/edges. I have used on floor boards and tiles with very little getting sucked up and alot left behind, don't even get me started on trying on carpet. Really disappointed in its performance. Show details
Great vacuum – Just bought this yesterday and are very happy with it, Used for half an hour and was very surprised at the amount of fluff it picked up, very good suction. Not quite as good when I tried to clean the car it picked up the sand and dust very well but not the bigger things such as leaves probably because it has a very small opening at the mouth.. Would highly recommend. Show details
Great vacuum for small areas – This is an awesome, light weight vacuum that has just enough power for small areas however if you are need to vacuum large areas, such as a large lounge or dining area the collector is just not big enough and needs to be emptying once or twice in order to get a good clean. We have a 2 bedroom apartment and it works well for us but anything more and I think you would need a larger one. Show details
Awesome vacuum – Hoover vacuum is a great vacuum, it is light which makes it easy to vacuum large areas. Service was great from the local stockist they really knew their products. The battery has really held up only charging after a couple of uses. It works well on tiles as well as carpet which was a lovely surprise. Show details
Perfect little vacuum – I have had this Hoover heritage 5210 for over two years now. It’s a perfect little vacuum, charges quickly and has a running power of 30 mins. Because of its good suction, it doesn’t take very long to clean all the carpets in the house. It stands upright so does not need a lot of storage space. Show details
It does not work, it should suck but it sux! – After deciding that Dyson was too much I went out to Godfrey's and was to by the $99 that always seems to be half price! Well the sales team at Godfrey's are very good at their job and upsold me to this one. He did the nice demo on the special red carpet and boom I got this one. It's bad, like really bad! It's an old dustbuster added to a chucky… Read more
stick. It's hard to place on the charger and click apart and together in like 10 places. But the worst thing is that it won't even pick up dust, hair and crumbs from our wood floors. Pretty sure we are going to get ACCC or whatever they call themselves now. One of the top 4 or 5 rules are an item must be fit for purpose and a vacuum should do its job and suck up simple stuff. Not fit for purpose. I'm not trying to pick up bowling balls! Shame on you Godfrey's your sales guys are good and we have bought 2 Wertheim top quality ones from you buy your cheap as special offers to get people in the door and offer you the low margin high turnover products are poor. Was going to buy a $99 second robot vac as we love our Roomba but not in the world, it was like a toy car. No it's not the filters or the installation of the Hoover it's just not good.
So much easier than lugging out the corded cleaner – I've only had the Hoover about 2 weeks but so far I am really impressed. I use it everyday to clean the bathrooms and tiled living areas and it is amazing and very quick. Used it quickly in my daughter's bedroom and I was very surprised at how well it worked. If it keeps going this well, I'll be very happy. Show details
Easy to push – This is very light weight and easy to push along. Love that it doesn’t have a mesh or paper filters, has plastic container that you can wash in water. And the filter is washable too, which is awesome, so you know you are always using something clean and health. The charge time is very quick and lasts a long time too. I use this daily. Show details
Experience – I have just brought this i seem to go through so many vacuums i don't know what do i have just brought this one as it doesn't make a lot of noise so my puppy does not chase it. It is easy to use and also with additional handheld vacuum is great for pickup bits of the garden, he brings in as treasures. Show details
My second Hoover in 2 years. So satisfied gave my daughter (with a dog) my first one – Happy with the ease and lightness of using machine, having arthritis in both hands. I have a 4 bedroom house with both carpet and tiles. When cleaning tile floor you do need to keep the machine clean otherwise it can stops picking up crumbs or small litter. No problem with the wool carpet and is easy to move over the carpet without dragging. Show details
The perfect quick clean stick hoover – Perfect for a quick ckean up in between normal vacuuming. Lightweight, manouverable and easy to empty. Can also be used as a hand held cleaner for furniture cleaning. A little noisy but no worse than a full size vacuum. The charging stand can be wall mounted if required. I have been very pleased with its looks and performance. Show details
Convemient but you still need a proper vacuum – Super convenient but no substitute for a real vacuum cleaner when it comes to a decent job. The battery charge does last for 15 to 20 minutes to begin with but after a couple of years of only occasional use, my 5210 now gives 5 to 10 minutes at best. Show details
