Stay away – It worked ok for the first couple months. Then the problems started. First with the solution tank, the little hose thing kept coming off and solution kept leaking on the floor. Hoover customer service was no help. I dealt with that and kept using the steam mop. But then the solution tank broke completely and i couldnt use solution any more. The… Read more
steam mop was under a year old. Hoover would not replace it. So i continued to use the mop with just water. Till 1 month out of warranty it died all together. Will not buy a hoover anything again. Very disappointed
poor quality – I have had this mop just under two years , the trigger is very hard to keep pressed in for the mop to work, after about 12 months it started leave little bits of blue plastic laying around on the floor, finally worked out the neck of it down near the base, ball joint was starting to break off in tiny pieces now its leaking what looks like oil from… Read more
the unit all over the floor The steam mop cleans pretty good, the quality is poor, will not buy one of these again its going in the bin
The quality is poor – It is a good design. and it is works fine for about a year, because we only have a small house, may only use once a month. replace pads all the time or when it needed. very careful keeping. But the plastic handle were broken soon after about a year. Show details

Surprised!! – We have a second home which has dark grey lino and shows every mark, this steam mops works a treat.. I think it leaves too much water on tiles so I use my enjo mop to dry tiles.... I have tested this on both matt and shinny tiles, it does remove hair products from bathroom floors.... I decided to try this on my larger family home which has solid… Read more
Tassie Oak boards... I was really a bit hesitant as I was worried about too much water... I however are completely surprised at what a wonderful job this steamer did. It removed scuff marks which I previously had to scrub on my hands and knees, I could easily get under the beds! I usually use it with just water... but I put the hard floor natural cleaner in the disinfectant tank which is basically an oil and left home smelling lovely... I did still need to dry mop over boards as I felt they where a little wet... but I have always wet mopped and then dry moped so it really wasn't any different! It does get a little heavy but no more than an a wet mop, once you keep steam running it will glide. It also seem to give a reasonable amount of time until you need to refill. Quick start up time too. I don't like that you have to hold finger for steam as if you have a large home it is a pain. Would also like to see a larger head. cleans without chemicals, removes dirt & scuff marks easily. finger on trigger perhaps a on & off switch would be good.
Excellent for hard floors – I recently bought this steam mop after having it demonstrated for me at Godfreys and reading the positive reviews on here. I have floating wood floors and 2 large dogs that track mud throughout the house. The reason I decided to give a steam mop a go is that I am also 6 months pregnant. I found that since ive been pregnant regular mopping of our… Read more
floors hurts my back and as a result I imagine it had been around 6 weeks since the last time I had done it. As it had been so long I imagined that it would take a few goes of the steam mop to remove all the muddy paw prints and ingrained dirt. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean my floors were after one thorough go over. I took my time but it was still quicker than regular mopping. My floors also were quite shiny, which I like too!!
I then thought I'd try it on my bedroom carpets. It improved the inground stains by around 50% and the newer stains were completely gone. I must say though that I held the mop on the spots for a lot longer that the recommended glide over and spent around 10 minutes working on each stain. I imagine with regular use it will continue to improve.
As I really bought it for my hard floors I am more than happy with my purchase!! Another bonus is that the floors dry really, really quickly!! Easy to use, left floors dry, outstanding cleaning results

Disappointed – Used three times and solution tank broken. No longer clips on and is held on by tape . Leaks everywhere when filled and useless. Disappointing as the cleaning is ok but do agree is a little on the bit too wet side. Had my choice again would not buy. Thought with a well thought of brand name the high price would be worth it ......SO WRONG!! Show details
Used 4 times - now broken! – It wasn't very powerful the first time I used it, but I figured oh well it was just $50.... I've used it about 4 times over the past year (I usually just grab my other Kmart mop) and today I plugged it in and the light comes on, but it won't heat up. I've tried everything and it still won't heat up at all. Waste of money :( Show details
Waste of time – Absolue waste of money. Tried to use it on the grout and did absolutely nothing. The floors were still dirty after i used it. Too heavy to manouver.. dont bother. It couldnt even remove dirt a simple wipe could. Far to expensive for what it is, please dont waste your money. Show details
Poor product TOO WET!! – Totally agreed; this product leaves the floor way to wet! There are marks left behind and the areas remain wet. This is no use for mirrors for example, where the finish using this cleaner is wet patchy and streaking requiring re-cleaning again, perhaps with a rag or chamois to get a proper finish. Very disappointing. Show details
Fine for the price – I got this (HSTM1500) for free as part of a (very expensive) vacuum cleaner purchase over 2 years ago. It has not broken, works fine - it is not the greatest cleaning tool, but for a lite-use household tile floor it does the job - certainly much better than those A$40-50 toys that are out there... Pad cleaning is not great but as long as you… Read more
clean them straight after use it is not bad (I haven't replaced mine yet - came with a set of 3 pads).
one tank usually lasts the entire downstairs entrance hall, kitchen, laundry, family and sun-rooms (about 70sqm all up).
Worst steam mop I have ever used – Leaves the floor way too wet.change the pads is suggested in instructions, however only comes with one pad. I actually only cleaned a 5 mate x1mtr hallway, and after hat pad was to wet to steam dry. Consequently when I walked on it I left footmarks. I had a monster, and there is no comparison. Worst money I ever spent. I will look at having my… Read more
monster repaired . Did not use a tank of water and to me this should not be enough to saturate the pad. Last Hoover item I will buy. Have always had Hoover vacuum and am due for new one, but not getting caught again. This is the first time I have used this mop.
Complete and Utter Garbage – Steam volume dropped off to almost nothing after no more than 50 uses, tried everything and more as per advise from Godfreys like poking the steam holes out and running a descaler through the machine nothing worked. Garbage product sold by Godfreys who I will never purchase anything from again. I try to support local brands and merchants but seriously neither of these company could care less all they try to do is sell sell sell. Show details

Falls apart piece by piece – At first i loved the stream mop but about 6 month into it pieces started breaking of so first the tank which i had to duct tap and now 1.5 years in the whole thing fell apart, handle, all tank pieces all the screws have fallen of, plastic etc. It still working but unusable due to the whole thing being duct tapped together. this machine was very… Read more
expensive and would have wanted at least 4 years plus out of it. It a shame as the the steam amount is perfect and clean flours well.
User beware – I bought this mop just recently and decided to use the attachment tools. While doing cleanup it certainly produced steam, enough so that it popped the attachments off and sent the hose flicking around. Luckily I have good reflexes or there could have been a bad burn on my face or hands. I did consider user error and double checked all connections… Read more
which if hearing a small click indicated they were attached properly. But no, after careful inspection they popped off again. I thought this was worth mentioning well above the river of water it left behind.
Crap steam mop don't buy – Bought Hoover steam mop from Godfreys thinking buying such a good brand would last long and boy was I wrong. Cheaply made in China. The tank clips break all the time. Hoover changed my first machine as it was still under warranty unfortunately they don't give you new warranty with replacement machine. I paid $300 for the mop which is really worth… Read more
$20. They need to improve the plastic clips for the Water tanks as they are just too brittle. No matter how careful you are they break. You would think Hoover being such an iconic brand would not sell crap but I guess profit is more important then quality nowadays.
Waste of money! – In the 2 years it was covered under warranty, I had to get it replaced 6 times!! Every time, the same problem. The plastic clips which hold in the water tanks would deteriorate and snap off, so the tank would not connect properly, it would fall out! The machine would leak water - dangerous! And I would find blue plastic bits all over my house,… Read more
the inside of the machine was breaking off! And each time I took it back into the store I bought it from, I was left without a mop for 6 weeks! Not ideal when you have 3 little kids at home!!! So I absolutely do NOT recommend this steam mop. When it did work, I was happy with it, but it didn't last long....
Reviews are hopefully not what I can expect to happen – Came as Freebie with vacuum ordered on internet. (Godfreys). Cleaner used it today and loved it. Washed cloth in machine. Dirt didn't come out. Velcro looks like will come apart. Very disappointed to read these Reviews. Have to wonder if many are being given away because they are a lemon.
Absalutely rubbish – Chemical compartment started leaking after 3 uses. Sent back for repair. Took about a month to come back from repair at Godfrey. After 3 or 4 uses, chemical compartment stopped working so we just used it with out chemicals. Worked fine for about 6 mounts till it stopped working completely. No steam what so ever. Payed $299. Big waste of money. Piece of junk.
It falls to pieces – I brought my Hoover steam mop from Godfreys. I wish I had read the other reviews before I brought this product. Absolutely do not purchase this item!!! My Hoover is now completely cracked and plastic pieces just fall off it while I am moping. The solution no longer works. I believe the product is now a safety issue. Would definitely not recommend purchasing this item.
Poor quality – We bought this steam mop at Godfreys. In the 2 years I had to send it back 4 times for repairs. The parts are plastic and poor quality. It is now out of warrenty and a part that was replaced under warrenty is no longer available. I will not reccommend this mop for the price you pay. You can buy 3 mops for $100 each and it will each at least last… Read more
one year which is longer than the 2 years warrenty on the hoover. They also do not tell you when you buy this mop that you should only use the hoover solution.
Leaves trail of water – We purchased this online from Godfreys. It is now only 8 months old and we have always used filtered water. It has started leaving trails of water and the salesman told us to use a pin to clean it and de scale it. We did both ans bought distilled water but still leaves trail of water. Ended up going back to mop and bucket. Will be seeking warranty replacement or similar.

works ok, not sure if there's anything better – agree with other reviews: * it's very heavy and you do get a sore hand from pulling the trigger (I have a little velcro strip I now use around it). It's too heavy for the children to use which is also not great! Are none of these appliance designers mothers? * The machine can easily fall over, so be very careful where you stand it. The cord… Read more
holder bit is hopeless, again I'd recommend a velcro loop or even a pet collar to secure the cord. It still will fall over so be sure it can safely lean/fall on something.
*The cleaning product it ships with is awful, sticky and streaky. I have made a diluted vinegar/water mix and put that in (against the advice of the salesman), so far so good. a spray bottle with metho/water would also be a good idea from time to time.
* It does leave streaks on glossy tiles.
* the water tank lids are really tricky to open, you almost need a child's tiny fingers to twist it open. stay calm and don't be rough, I suspect they might break easily.
however,
+ it's very fast to heat up (30 seconds) and the floors dry very quickly.
+ the cord is quite long, you can do few rooms with it.
+ the water tank, although small (with irritating lids), seems to give good coverage.
hoover hstm 1500 – Very dissatisfied mop left trail of water on floor took it back boiler r/s, new one still leaves to much water, i have used others in my work and they leave floor dryer. tank hard to remove resulting being dropped $39 for new one(newer tanks now have small handle to remove)when removing tank filter came with it and broke small piece off, couldn't recommend to any one. Ended up on rubbish bin where it belongs It does clean as per my review
Returned after 1 week – I found this mop way too heavy, it leaked from the water bottle at the back, the water bottle lids were awkward to use and you need your finger on the water trigger all the time to get enough steam, and this made your hand ache. I returned it for my money back after only 1 week. Also the power cord bracket does not securely hold the cord so it is forever falling down. I was disappointed.
When it works it's great – I have had this steam mop for about 18months... Hands down the worst steam mop ever. I have taken it back to Godfreys half a dozen times to have it looked at. The steam outlet gets blocked almost as soon as I leave the store. I'm so over it. The peoe a Godfreys have this amazing technology to unblock the steam outlet called a paper clip! Which they wriggle around to get the blockage cleared. It's $250 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Would be fantastic if it lasted longer! – The mop is fantastic when it is working properly. It cleans the floors beautifully and is easy to use. The problem is it doesn't seem to work at full capacity for very long. I bought my mop about two years ago and have had to take it back to Godfreys, (who were extremely helpful), three times for repairs. The 1st and 2nd time they gave me a new… Read more
mop, the 3rd it was just out of warranty so there was nothing they could do. It is now in the bin!!!! So that is three brand new mops that have barely lasted 2 years altogether. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OR THE MONEY.
2nd time this machine has been returned for service – Purchased Nov 2013, returned December 2014 as the mop was not producing steam although the tank was boiling. Returned again 7th April but told will take 3 weeks to repair. Will they honour the warranty when the machine breaks down again in another 3 months?
Tank broken, not enough steam/heat – Don't like the fact you have to keep holding the trigger to release steam (makes hand ache!) The disinfectant tank clips broke shortly after purchase so can no longer use that part. And now it really isnt steaming very much or with much heat - can even touch the pad. V disappointing!
Very poor performance – I am really disappointed with this machine. It has been sent back for repair three times, Clips broken, water container head broke away, steam not coming out, too much water residue on floor which takes ages to dry. It is only 1 year old. sick of taking it back for repairs, it might work for the first time you get it home but then fails again. Complete waste of good money!
Poor tank design – I bougt one from Godfreys and the clips that hold the tank broke. These small clips are so delicate that it is designed to break soon. The mop is good and cleans well even without any detergent. The triangular head is great as well as it can squeeze into any corner. However will not recomend due to poor tank holding clips.
Okay – Okay. That is what this mop is. I bought this after my kenwood mop died (10 years was a good innings)...thought I would try a different brand. This mop cleans okay, does leave streaks on high gloss porcelain tiles, it's easy to use, lightweight and all parts have stayed together. I like the triangle head as it is easier to get into corners. I have… Read more
tried white vinegar in the solution part although they only recommend using their solution...however I don't really like using to many chemicals as I have small children. This mop is a good in between traditional mopping.....unfortunately traditional mopping is still required. I believe this mop is just as good as the cheaper steams mops on the market as this does nothing extraordinary. Easy to use. Doesn't give a great clean.
Warranty not honoured – I bought this steam mop from Godfreys it was the dearest and I hoped the best. It's holding upright mechanism never worked properly and fell often. Within a few months of purchase I took it back, they accused me of dropping it and refused warranty. I now have a useless mop with broken parts from it falling over a large $50 container of solution… Read more
and have had to buy another machine elsewhere. I will never purchase a Hoover or anything from Godfreys after this experience. Do they really think I would spend over $300 and be careless with it, it is an unfair and completely untrue accusation. Buyers beware! Swivel head Kept falling over
very happy – I bought the model with the dispenser that you can add cleaner into, but havent needed to use a cleaner as I tried it out on my sister - in- laws tiles and was very pleased with the result. I bought it for my new home which we are building ( I do not have tiles where we are living at the moment ) was looking forward to trying it out so decide to experiment at some one elses home. cleaned well
Disappointing – I have had my steam mop for 2years and only used it a total of 5 times as I think it is not heating and steaming enough. There is just a trickle of steam from a virtually new machine. I took it back to Godfrey's for a check and I assume they checked all the tubes were patent and gave it back to me but it has not fixed the problem. I get the… Read more
feeling they can't do much more. The floors were getting damper each time I used it when it was kinda working.
Not enough heat and steam generated ?faulty but retailer not interested in fixing. As usual only goes faulty when it runs out of its warranty!

Since I wrote this I was given a brand new Hoover steam mop as a replacement. This was unexpected but much appreciated.
