Best Camper in Oz – I can't speak highly enough about Horizon, they go out of their way to look after you. No question is silly. Their build is exceptional quality. Their aftersales Service is probably best around. You can pick up one of these beauties in beautiful Ballina.

Best service ever! – We are preparing to hit the highway soon and suddenly had some glitches in our Banksia after having it in mothballs for too long! Mel, Ben and Sophia went above and beyond to ensure we got things fixed quickly and efficiently. We can't thank them enough!

Horizon Melaleuca is perfect for us – We have travelled in caravans, used tents, stayed in motels etc. We decided to try a motorhome so we rented one and drove from Melbourne to Perth taking 7 weeks. We asked for a 2 berth but got a much bigger 6 berth. We loved the whole motorhome thing but realised that over half of that motorhome was seating for 6 people. We really only lived in half. A Horizon Melaleuca pulled up next to us and we really questioned the owners and it’s strength/weaknesses. The next day we ordered one. It ticked all our requirements, made in Australia, well designed, had shower/toilet/kitchen/storage etc. We picked it up in 2019. We loved it! Only 6m long but had everything. Has it been 100% great? No. We did have problems with a squeaking kitchen and it turned out it was installed badly. Took 3 goes before Horizon fixed it but they were very very thorough. They are always very responsive and very nice to deal with. Unfortunately COVID stopped too many trips, but in 2022 we have ramped them up again. It still is perfect for what we want. Apart from the original squeak the build quality is excellent. We get 9.5 l/100kms on the Fiat Ducato base unit, we can park anywhere as it is (just) under 6m, and we are totally self contained when we free camp (prefer caravan par’s though).

Best one yet – Well from an experienced motorhomer ( if there is such a thing ) I would have to say this motorhome fits our purpose to a tee. After hiring motorhomes all over New Zealand and Australia for 15 years my wife and i decided to bite the bullet and buy one of our own. So we bought a secondhandy ( Make not important ) for a considerable sum. A six berth which we toted around Victoria, Tasmania, NSW and Queensland for 5 years. My adult kids took it for weeks and we also took our grandchildren on various adventures. Why is that important ? Well our grandchildren are now adult and ......., well you know the story. So my wife and I sold the six berth and hunted around for the best 2 berth we could fine. Walla !! The Horizon Casuarina. Why is that? Based on the reliable Fiat Ducato Extra Long Wheelbase 180hp Automatic, the Horizon Casuarina is a great configuration for my wife and I. For a start the driving and passenger position is up off the road when you can see and enjoy all the landscape as you trundle along at 80kph on the B and C roads, without annoying anyone. Both my wife and I drive this motorhome, as it is just like a car with all the features you would expect in a car out of the showroom. Automatic gearbox with manual override, cruise control, GPS\Radio\Bluetooth and all the indicators and lights on the dashboard telling you exactly what is happening. But that's the Ducato, a good selection from Horizon to build the Casuarina on. Being only 6.4 meters long the vehicle fits nicely into most parking spaces if you can sneak the back over the median strip.

The interior decor is stylishly designed and coloured in modern pastels that please the eye, despite sticking the Horizon badge slap dash in the focal point of the interior on a vertical cloth "Magazine holder" which we never use. It is comfortable and you feel very cosy inside your adopted temporary home. Lets start with the equipment. A very adequate 12\240 volt fridge that seemed to hold more than our floor to ceiling fridge\freezer in our previous 6 berth. We chose the 2 separate bed configuration due to the amount of room inside it allows and also the ability to use this as a lounge with the handy swinging table for meals, or, as I do, use it for a mobile office with my laptop setup to my mobile phone. There is plenty of window space that is high enough when sitting down inside to enjoy the view when parked alongside a lake or the sea. Outside of course is serviced by a very adequate awning, that is a little cumbersome to set up, but once in place, is secure and protective. The bathroom is adequate if you weigh less that 120kg as there is enough room inside to navigate the very thoughtful and ingenious shower and toilet, with a modest, but utilitarian hand basin. The hot Gas\240 volt Hot Water service cranks up in about 10 minutes and provides more than enough really hot water for two to have "separate" showers. With the toilet in the same compartment there is a bit more wiping down after a shower to dry the compartment out, but is an excellent use of space, and a two way hard working ceiling fan to assist in the drying department. The galley is serviced with a 3 burner gas range an a nice little sink, both having dark glass lids to put down when finished, making a complete unit. Fabulous drawers that "Click" shut and more than enough room for everything you need without shopping every week. We prefer to "free camp" ( not going into caravan parks ) and with the solar panels on the roof recharging the house battery, we have stayed out for 8 or more weeks without buying more gas to recharge the 2x 4.5 kg bottles. Hanging space and overhead cupboards are generous and easily accessed. The rear opening doors are a treat on a warm day, just letting the breeze in and exposing lots of storage under the beds inside.

Pros: Excellent use of space, the best we could find Gutsy performance and easy travelling at 110kmph. Easy to drive and don't need a heavy license Thoughtful ventilation on hot or cold days and nights Excellent window configuration with sliding blinds\insect screens Storage space galore in every conceivable way. Brilliant fuel economy ( I got 7-8 Litres\100 km in the country and 12-13 in town )

Cons: Sliding door can be noisy at night if you don't want to wake the neighbours. With front wheel drive, you have to keep the front wheels on the solid ground.
