New favourite tool! – I didn’t know if I would like this product but it has far exceeded my expectations! firstly it’s a huge time saver super easy to use and the finish is very smooth and shiny! It’s way better than my parlux and Dyson hair dryers! Show details

Worked better than expected – Worked better than expected but so noisy, left my ears ringing. As well as the dryer sound there is a second high pitched noise which was uncomfortable. If I was to use this again, definitely use ear plugs. It is convenient but the noise outweighs that unfortunately. Show details

Love it !! – I have thick curly hair and it blow dries my hair better than hairdressers do . I can get it done within an hour which is very quick for my hair . I have had quite a number of really positive comments on how my hair looks since buying it . I’m hopeless at using any other tool but somehow got the hang of this. I definitely recommend it I’ve tried… Read more

so many different products but by far this is the easiest and best for thick curly hair In particular .

Super loud – It works perfectly on my hair, but it is megaaaa loud. I had to wear earplugs not to damage my ear drum. I feel sorry for our neighbours. Show details

It's a good brush, but – I got the set with the large and small barrels. Honestly, not big difference between them. If your hair longer than shoulder, get the large one. If shorter, just get the small. I also got the extra small barrel, it works fine for bangs and finishing off but not as strong as the other barrels. Cleaning it is really hard as hair and hair products… Read more

get stuck, I bought their cleaning tool but it's useless. It doesn't take off the excess products from the brush. Delivery took 7 business days, they said it will be shipped between 1-3 business days which was a lie. Also customer service is bad, they missed something I ordered and I emailed them, they replied after 5 business days that they have run out!! Offered to send me something else. Overall I think it's overpriced.

Love it!!! – The packaging is super sleek and fancy but my first impression of the hairdryer itself was that it felt like a really light and cheap piece of hardware in my hands given the price point. Thankfully I’ve since changed my mind. I have thick long wavy hair that is usually labour intensive to dry so after using this for a few mins I was actually… Read more

really appreciative of how lightweight and manageable it was to operate. I found it to be a little louder than your standard hairdryer but not overly offensive. Heat output seems average at first but I’m now really impressed at how effective it is at drying my hair in half the time that it took my other hairdryer brush. I have the smaller attachment as well as the original barrel and I find both very useful but admittedly prefer the smaller one for my hair. I haven’t found a lot of difference in volume so far but this may come down to my technique. Overall this is a great hairdryer brush that has halved the length time it normally takes to dry and style my hair. My hair looks smooth and sleek and feels soft and healthy which is in stark contrast to the way my last dryer left it. Get it, it’s worth it!

Good blowdry but nothing special – I was looking for a tool to do away with using a hairdryer and brush simultaneously. I'd say this tool gives you a similar look. I found no difference with volume. It is very noisy and not a very powerful dry. I normally use a Dyson hairdryer with a large thermal brush and have long, medium thickness hair. I find Hot Tools harder and longer work… Read more

than if I used my Dyson and separate hair brush. I would only recommend if you get the smaller brush attachment and you're not skilled doing your own hair with a standard hairdryer. Otherwise not worth the money. I'll be selling mine!

Hot Tools with Small Detachable Head – I have the Hot Tools Black Gold Volumiser Detachable Small Barrel. Unfortunately it comes with a high pitched hum and coupled with the usual hairdryer sound, I have now taken to wearing earplugs when using. I realised how bad the high pitched hum was when my deaf hubby commented on the noise everytime I used it. On receiving the hairbrush and… Read more

unpacking it I thought the detachable brush was still rather large. I was expecting something smaller due to its name as even though the measurements are given on their website it is hard to envisage the actual size looking at pictures.

The tool itself, I like for performance and ease of use. The swivel cord stops it from becoming tangled. It does not get too hot on the highest setting. It is light to hold.

I have short fine straight hair and though I felt the brush was large on unpacking it, I have found it works well and gives my hair more body and bounce. Even with short fine hair I have found it works best when using it on nearly dry hair.

Product purchased through Hot Tools Australia Website. Prior to deciding on this model I contacted the company direct via their website and my questions were answered very quickly and succinctly.

Purchase date to arrival at my home in regional WA, even during Covid was extremely quick.

My only negative is the noise however overall I still recommend this product as it does do what it advertises.

Update: due to the squeal this volumiser emits, I gave up on using it as I was worried about the damage it was doing to my ears, even with ear plugs in.

Works ok with curly hair – Works ok, but the brush is so large and it's just too hard to reach my curly roots. I find myself having to go over my hair with a straightener anyway. I'd say it's good for volume, but it is still time consuming to use.
