Third HTC but will be my last :( – My third HTC after the One X and the M8, was expecting great things. Phone works well when working but the battery life or overall battery system is terrible. When phone was new it would restart in a loop by itself and never get to the OS. Sent back for a repair, phone returned with a power button not connected properly, couldnt turn on. again and it worked ok, power button lost its spring back so had to push it hard to click it. 6 Months on and the phone will restart anything below 80% battery, it just doesnt have the power to run the phone. Works ok if plugged in but so unreliable otherwise. Benched it and bought an Oppo.
HTC10 – I bought my HTC10 just over a year ago from JB hi fi, for $499, now the mobile is DEAD, I tried to fix it by following instructions watching video on YouTube who has exactly the same problems as my mobile. But didn’t do anything. This is my third HTC, but for now I will never buy HTC anymore. Just a piece of rubbish. Show details
Very ordinary – I normally love htc but this phone has been a disappointment. The camera on my initial purchase was faulty. The replacements camera is average at best. Battery life was never great and a year down the track my phone randomly dies when the battery is under approx 25%. HTC do some great phones but the 10 has been a lemon for me. Show details

Stay away as far as you can from this phone – I had an HTC one, I really want to experience android. Had a wonderful user experience with it. It had everything i wanted from a phone, long battery life, cool metal looks, great camera and speed. But accidently smashed the screen around 5 month after purchase. Switched back to iphone but there i was, thinking HTC makes the best andorid phones… Read more
out there.
Bought the HTC 10 the 1st day it hit store. It was all good and fun for 10 month. Everything starts to fall apart after that. The battery can't last more than 5 hours with no games or other battery consuming app. With no apps on it LITERALLY dropped from 100% to 90% in 10 mins. Often turn off itself at 15% and somehow turn on right after, showing 1% on screen. Like, dude, Y?! And finally it just gave up one day. Battery died as usual, tried to charge it, no light indicator, it just won't charge. Tried HTC online support, waste of time, all they said was to take it back to the retail store where i bought it. I mean, if i still have the receipt, why would i spend time trying to get help from you.
Spent $120 on repair, the repair man told me to backup everything, cos if this happened once it's bound to happen twice and he wouldn't trust the phone. Backed up everyhing on cloud but wanted to give it one more try, so didn't get a new phone. What a mistake that was. It pulled the same crap on me again TODAY. I am not wasting another $120 on this crap again. Getting a new phone today.
I know there is like a one year cycle for phones, but this time it's just frustrating. Everything else is good just this battery connection, it's like having a vault full of cash in your house but have no house keys. HTC is so focused on VR market now feels like it just abandoned its mobile lines. They could do better and you could do better, just stay away from this phone.
Simply a great phone – Been an HTC user for a few years, moved from the Evo 3D to the One X+ to the M8 and now the 10. I've honestly never been perfectly satisfied with HTC's phones, they all have little quirks that competing models don't have, the M8 was almost there, but the screen calibration and camera were mediocre. The 10 is the first of the bunch where I don't… Read more
have any major complaints, it is such a perfectly refined and well-rounded device, providing a compelling user experience.
HTC's software is brilliant, so clean with just a few added features that I find useful rather than redundant. The screen is actually really great on the 10 and is very much an underrated feature of this phone. I run a photography based website and frequently edit on my phone when my laptop is unavailable, the 10 has a really well-calibrated screen with a nice white point. Contrast is also exceptional for an LCD and the panel has no bleed or wash out off-angle. Max brightness is enough when outdoors though I understand some could want a smidge more.
The camera is also fabulous, OIS works really well for handheld photos and the images have very mature processing that retains more information than Samsung's phones, enabling more potential for manipulation in post. If you just want punchy out of camera shots, the Samsung's of the world will deliver, if you like to edit and tinker, the 10's more natural photos lend themselves better towards editing. My only issue is with shutter speed, the 10 seems to favour lower ISO's and shutter speeds than the S7 and even S6, so it struggles with moving subjects.
Otherwise, the phone is super fast, snappy and fluid. Battery life is average at 3-3:30hrs screen on but charging is very fast. The build and ergonomics of the phone are exceptional, no other phone quite has the solidity of the 10's unibody metal design and the bold chamfers, which were a bit odd in renders, look fabulous in person. I think the 10 fits better in the hand and feels more solid than the M8 and as others have stated, the buttons are really good, super clicky and defined. I also love having a fingerprint sensor, it speeds up operation a lot in daily use and HTC's implementation is really good, it is perceptibly faster and more reliable than most other phones I've used.
Audio quality is HTC's Forte and the 10 best exemplifies this as the last HTC flagship with a headphone jack. And that jack outputs really great quality, hiss is non-existent, driving power decimates other flagship phones and resolution is on par with a low-mid range dedicated DAP. My only issue with audio output is the output impedance, which gives multi balanced-armature earphones a bit of sub-bass roll-off compared to my Chord Mojo and Oppo HA-2. But for a phone, it doesn't get much better than this. The speakers are also nice, they lose about 1 volume notch to the M7, 8 and 9 and also that sense of depth and stereo separation, but I feel the actual sound quality is higher on the 10 with greater end to end extension and detail. Still, often times, I feel myself wanting that extra few dB of volume. The 10 is topped off with fast internal storage which means the phone doesn't slow down when installing apps and the fastest micro-sd slot on the market which is great for media consumers. I also enjoy having USB-C, it's a way better port than micro-b and transfer speeds are much faster to my laptop.
So overall, an exceptionally well-rounded phone with no real compromises. Sure it's not waterproof, but I would argue that having better headphone output and speakers all the time is better than being able to dunk your phone in the pool 0.01% of the time. I personally wish it had a bit more batterylife and that the camera was a tad faster, but otherwise, at the current asking price, the 10 is a really great phone that I will be sure to keep for the next few years.
Great All-rounder – I have had this phone for nearly a year. Pros: - Great media experience - High quality headphone jack and excellent surround speakers - Great build quality - I have dropped this many times and it's metal exterior has held up extremely well - Stock Android - As someone who hates bloatware, this phone is great for me. It had a few apps of… Read more
bloatware in the form of Facebook and Instagram, but these can just be disabled. It is much better than Samsung, who clog their phone up with many useless apps that are no better than Google ones e.g. Samsung music, internet etc. The HTC 10 keeps the software clean and non-intrusive.
- Ease of use - It is just the right size for one handed use, and with top notch specs for 2016 (Snapdragon 820), it is very quick and responsive. HTC sense is very efficient, but personally I have installed a launcher to meet my exact needs.
- Fingerprint Scanner - The fingerprint scanner is very quick and helpful as it can be used to lock apps inside your phone. This means you can prevent people from looking at certain apps without fingerprint access. It is also located in the front, unlike some newer phones e.g. S8, G6.
Cons:
- Camera - It is a good camera, and it takes decent shots. However, its exposure is always slightly off, and the shots don't seem to be as good as the S7's or the iPhone 7's.
- Battery Life - Battery life is average. I can get through a whole day with light usage but if I am doing intensive tasks with the screen constantly on, I usually have to bring my power bank and start charging by the afternoon.
Overall, it is a great phone. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a phone that just gets things done and doesn't have any flashy features that will never be used (I'm looking at you Samsung). It is also quite inexpensive at around $500 imported on eBay, so for the specs it offers, it is quite a steal in my opinion.

Problem with SD card - phone won't recognise the SD CARD – The phone does what nearly all mobile phones do. What is frustrating that whilst taking PICTURES/VIDEOS a message comes up that sd card not recognised, after a hard reset the phone will take pictures etc.phoned HTC 10 HELP (unhelpful), glibly said return your phone to where you purchased it from in Hong Kong (I am in Oz), so what do I do in the… Read more

Great phone for a fraction of the price – Purchased this phone on eBay and it turned out to be version for overseas market (Vietnam). The screen resolution and color are great. Photos taken with normal mode are excellent. Using Zoe camera is even better. Phone handles multi-tasking and multi-games well (tested Dynasty Warriors & War Robots). However, sometimes the metal cover turned… Read more
quite hot so it is uncomfortable to play games with out a rigid phone case.
For some reasons, Google Maps doesn't work well with this phone. It's quite slow.
In general, HTC 10 Evo offers great value for money, has all the functions of a modern phone. Great Buy!
Almost as good as the last – I bought this after having a terrible time with a Samsung Galaxy S6, and prior to that an amazing HTC M8. I prefer my phones to have a full metal body and replaceable battery. To save reading further: It's a great price, and I'm still using it almost a year later without being compelled to upgrade and would recommend to anybody. The HTC M8… Read more
wowed me the day I got it, and ran well until it fell into a puddle of water at work and was retrieved by a co-worker completely shorted out.... sad day, as i could see myself using that thing til it died.
HTC 10 didn't wow me more than I expected, it was similar to the Samsung S6 but thankfully had a better battery life which annoyed me the most about the S6, and how it heated up in a short period. This phone still heats up a little, but i am admittedly a bit of power user.

Great phone but average battery life – Had the phone for almost a year now. Its really great but the battery life is just average, really struggle to get through a whole day which is just a bummer. Otherwise screen is nice, its really fast and the fingerprint sensor works every time. Hardly every crashed on me Show details
Sturdy phone, good workhorse – Was switching over from a very outdated iPhone 5 and was tossing up between this phone or the latest iPhone at the time the iPhone 7. The HTC 10 is much more affordable and offers very similar specifications to a lot of the other top end phones at the time. It has almost been a year and the phone works well, a full charge can last me most of the… Read more
day with moderate use. It is quite sturdy as I have dropped it a few times and there has been no obvious damage to it.
It's nice at first but – Loved the phone at first but then problems started to occur at the 5 months mark. The phone would no longer recognise my earphones were plugged in and would play on speaker even though my earphones were plugged in. The battery life drains really quickly, I used to be able to play games on my phone but now it drains way too quickly for any game performance. Show details

Great phone, does everything I need and easy to use – Got this to replace an ageing HTC One M8 and it is fantastic. Great screen, great camera, awesome sound through the headphones and speakers. Battery life is pretty good and I still love the HTC user interface, as it is slick and easy to use, but very functional. Only negative is lack of water resistance and the fact they dropped the infra red remote feature. Show details

Love it! HTC is one of the best phones ever – I used HTC from legend to M8, M9 and 10. If not cos of water damage incidents (my fault!) I would keep using HTC phones due to not only its excellent design but the phone overall is a joy to have. The build is solid, I dropped it a hundred times and it still is fine (unlike iPhones) and camera is brilliant. It feels good in my hands, looks amazing… Read more
and I love it when it comes in different colours especially red. I hope HTC keeps making quality phones moving forward. Waterproof perhaps.
Good phone, battery life not great – This is a well-designed phone. The layout, screen size and brightness, features and camera are all very good indeed. The biggest drawback is the sub-optimal battery life, however the android system is quite good at optimising battery life. The most annoying con other than the mediocre battery life is that the 2 main buttons (back and switch app) are too close to the bottom and are annoyingly hard to hit until you get used to it. Solid phone, poor battery – Very solid phone, however battery life leaves much to be desired. Pros: Very well built, feels very nice in the hands with volume and power buttons VERY nice to touch. Cons: Poor battery life, battery degrades rather fast and will leave you looking for a charger in less than a day's use. Show details
love it not too many fancy features – Being elderly it was great that basically it operates the same. It is easy to handle & clear to read & makes me feel competent. The price was good, the battery recharges quickly with the C fitting which saves me time. I shall keep this HTC phone as long as it lasts. Show details
I love this phone! – This phone is pretty excellent. It's fast, sleek and has all the features you want in a phone plus some additional ones. My favourite has to be the quick charge function, where it charges super fast. I can get a full charge in under an hour which is great for someone like me who uses it often and needs to top it up. The glass is tough, and the metal back is smooth and nice to hold. I highly recommend this phone. Show details
Nice exterior design, but far from a flagship phone – I got my HTC 10 not long after its initial release in May-June 2016. Its a beautiful phone to look at, with its glass face and satin silver metal back, but the praise ends there unfortunately. Its all looks and little stand-out substance. The HTC version of the Android UI is clunky, the camera is nothing out of the ordinary (and sub-par in low… Read more
light). The speakers are okay, nothing to write home about.
It has little to set it apart from phones half the price aside from a striking exterior and, for me, that's not enough.
Decent Phone but not Amazing – We purchased this phone as an emergency replacement early 2017. While I can say that it has performed well over most functions of a smart phone, it still feels like the phones design itself is somewhat unrefined and isn't a high quality product. I've noticed that compared to other phones I have used recently the screen appears to be not as… Read more
sharp. If you could pick it up for a good price it's worth the money, but there are other phones on the market for cheaper that outperform it by a long way.
Average – Htc is meant to be the best music phone right? Speaker is not as loud as the M8 and sound quality is compromised. Screen width has also shrunk a little. Battery life is average. The dual-colour variant of gold/white looks good though. Looks will count this time around but I'm going to Nokia next purchase. Show details

Another strong, solid unit from HTC – I've been a long term user of HTC handsets, for about a decade. In a world of Samsung and Apple duopoly they are one of the few manufacturers to still think differently in design. The 10 is crafted - the aluminium body oozes class and sophistication. No glass back, and overheating is correspondingly not an issue. Snappy interface that has had… Read more
much of the bloat kept out of it. Reliable, and speedy with data transfer thanks to carrier aggregation. VoLTE support is also a welcome touch especially with 700MHz becoming predominant in rural areas.
The two negatives I will bring up are the camera and the lack of accessory support. Cameras have always been the Achilles heel of HTC and the 10 is no different compared to the competition. Whilst vastly improved on prior models it still pales to a current model Samsung or Apple. Being an early adopter of USB-C has the disadvantage of poor charger support.
Never Buy an HTC Phone again – Got my HTC 10 in May 2016 from Vodafone on contract, Have been visiting Vodafone time and again with issues with the phone. that I got was ok, it still had overheating issues. So after a year of use, its battery got doomed, 40% battery and it would switch off. I had a two year warranty, I got it replaced again. They gave me a new one, this one looked fine when I took it. But after a few days its screen was getting off it body. the screen wasnt stuck properly, probably a refurbished phone was what they gave to me, I will have to go back again.
has everything – There is everything u could ever need from PayPal to Facebook, nothing to run it , like Samsung galaxy. That cost u just to have it turned on, I know I use to own one, sold it . That price of the HTC is great. Depend where u go to buy it, nearly every supermarket has them for sale.. Show details
Charging Port Issues – My 6 month old HTC recently would not charge. I took it back to Telstra where I initially bought the phone outright. never had this issue and I have always used the original charger that comes with the phone. I felt I had no recourse and certainly none of my rights to the warranty. How do I fight this if I am not a phone technician?
I bought a new phone for the same price as the Telstra Quote and am presently having the old phone fixed at another place for $140.00.
Sad because I love my HTC otherwise.
Great phone with great features without the price tag – Have had HTC's for a couple of phones now, and no regrets with this purchase. Camera is responsive and really great quality. Love it – Easy to use, not limited to iTunes. I don't need to connect to iTunes to put music on my phone or change ring tones etc. Better reception and battery life than my wife's iPhone 6s. One of the best – I was reluctant to part with my old phone but simply because my old phone screen sometimes went black by itself. So i thought of getting a new phone. When my hubby check this phone, he said this was a good phone for me. User friendly, large screen, great speaker and photo pixel. After i got this phone, there was no turning back! Simply love this phone from day 1. Show details
Great phone, especially if you value audio – Good S7, google pixel alternative. This is a quite an underrated phone that can hold its own. The stereo speakers sound great and the dedicated headphone DAC / amp is as good as you get outside of an LG V20 or G6. The clean software has been a refreshing change as well. I came from a galaxy s5 and the htc seems to be doing a much better job of maintaining its speed over time. Show details
A great phone that matches up to it's competition – My wife has had the HTC 10 for almost a year now and although it's slightly dated to some of the newest phones, she is very happy with it and has never regretted her purchase. The sound quality is fantastic, build quality is sturdy and battery life is as good/better than it's competitors. One negative is the lack of water resistance. Show details
Best HTC Phone ever!! – After having HTC for months I should say HTC should have made this flagship phone years before!! Pros are countless and Cons may include it's bulkiness, battery life (never we could utter the word enough for a smart phone battery life), no water resistance, miss the front facing boom sound in spite of any Cons listed I love my HTC and it's the best!! problem! What I don't understand is why they still pretend it is a new issue when contacted, and can't just send out a replacement phone like other retailers.
As I don't really want to have extended time without my phone, or having to backup everything, I chose to live with the problem, but definitely not too keen to buy myself another HTC in the near future.
