Brilliant phone – Have tried iphone, Samsung, Sony Xperia and looked close at the Google producst but the Mate 20 Pro is unbelievably good. The camera is amazing. Android works perfectly and the fast charge gets my phone from 0% to 100% in about 30 minutes. Battery life is incredible too. Its the perfect size too. I love the style with the red accent on the… Read more

on/off button. Its not easy to find accessories or covers in stores but there's heaps online. Would thoroughly recommend putting this on your list of phones to consider.

Excellent phone specs for the price – I bought this phone purely for the camera as i was travelling and i didn't want to carry a camera with me, but i fell in love with everything else about it too. Has excellent battery life and can easily go for 2 days. Also charges 70% in less than half an hour. Downside is that its hard to find accessories for it like cases unlike Samsung or Apple products. Show details

Best phone I've ever owned. Complete convert! – This is by far the best phone I've ever owned. I was a die hard Samsung man (for about 12 years) and decided to give the Mate 20 Pro a go as I wasn't a fan of the S9 price and line up. There was a few quirks that took some getting used to, and a few things that still annoy me, but nothing compared to what my S8 was. It drove me insane. My only… Read more

gripes really stem from a lack of aftermarket cases and parts and the replacement (non genuine) screen sucks, but neither of these are Huawei's fault. Has been largely glitch free and hassle free compared to friends and family who own other brands. I won't look back. Thanks for a great product.

Excellent Device – I'm in love with my Mate20 Pro, very reliable and easy to use. Love the EMUI add-ons that they inject into Android, the camera is awesome especially the Portrait effect. All the apps I use are running smoothly with no crashes.

Love this phone – I've been using this phone for a year now and have nothing bad to say about it at all. I've shot photos and videos in a range of circumstances while travelling and gotten pretty great results, especially paired with snapseed. Not as good as my other cameras, but the form factor, low light algorithms and persistence of battery life mean I've taken… Read more

photos in plenty of situations I otherwise wouldn't have bothered or even had a camera. Paired with a love mei case, this thing has 5aken one hell of a beating and has nothing wrong, not a scratch. 4k screen is, of course, beautiful.

Great Camera, Great Phone – After a succession of Samsung Galaxy models that had proven reliable and somewhat fragile, the main draw of this phone over the Galaxy 9 series was the reported image quality of the cameras built into it and the experts weren't wrong. The quality of photos in any lighting condition is outstanding and puts our cameras to shame to the point where… Read more

they are rarely used now.

Pros: It's Android so everything is familiar to us Android users; battery life is excellent; it's well built and has proven durable thus far; it's a little cheaper than the equivalent Samsung and it has worked flawlessly since day one.

Cons: nothing much really.

Overall it's been a good buy and one we'd be happy to recommend.

This phone is awesome! – This phone is so cool especially its cameras. There are 3 cameras to take different kinds of photos in different time. I’m so impressed every time the photo turns out to be. The photos taken at night are so clear and vivid. I’m also in love with the sound quality of this phone. Every time playing the music from the phone feels just like it’s from the stereo! Show details

Good, very few issues, but some glitches – The screen is tough, but it still needs a screen protector as it is easily scratched in your bag or pocket with keys, etc. Its speakers are high-quality, and it rarely drops calls. You can listen to music out loud on it and the music will be clear and relatively loud. The camera is its true strong point. It's crisp, but you will get noise in… Read more

low-light situations. HDR is the best feature; it takes some beautiful pictures. Sound on the videos is good.

Apps run smoothly, although the phone is about six months old and it has just started closing apps down spontaneously but I feel this may be a problem with my specific device. Work profile is a bit glitchy, several times it's logged me off and won't accept my passwords. Otherwise, fast and easy to use.

Disappointed with top range phone – Pros face and finger print lock Exellent Camera slow motion time-lapse micro panorama so much fun. Runs fast with apps. Wireless charging is very convenient. Cons battery doesn't last long like other reviews. Google ban. In Some games , soft key doesn't pop up. Too expensive (retail price about$1100) Show details

Vey nice – I like this phone so much but I liked my Note 9 even more. This phone could have been great if it wasn't for the cost of the nano sim cards and the fact that if you want to delete text messages you either do it one by one or all. Show details

Bsst ever SmartPhone – I can say specifically for my use this phone has not ever disappointed. Excellent display, Camera, 4g Signal and Speed. I supose the Interface is not for everyone but I do prefer this over Xiaomi, LG and Samsung (I used Pocophone F1, LG G6 and Note 5 Samsung). I love the best feature for me on this phone. The large battery and the super fast… Read more

I'm loving it – I bought a Huawei 20 Pro mobile phone for myself for Xmas.A little hard at first (mainly because there is no outlet (shop) in Melbourne, only in Sydney it appears. I am 68 years old & really needed to go into the shop to get them to help me. Eventually I got most of it worked out but still a few things I need to get sorted. They do have a phone… Read more

support system. I love the camera takes great photos. I have been a Samsung person for years & haven't let go of my Galaxy S9 + just in case. I'm getting happier as I work it out. Apps all seem to work fine. I use WhatsApp - Skype -Viber -Zedge-Snapchat etc, all seem to be going well. Very happy at this stage. I hope they hurry & open outlet stores in Melbourne.

Not so perfect for such a nice phone – This phone could have been the best of the best if it wasn't for the cost of the NM cards and the fact that if you want to delete text messages you either do it one by one or all. This to me was enough to return the phone and I did try to convince myself otherwise. What a shame so Samsung you win again. Really not much more to say really.  Show details

The Mate 20 Pro from a gamer's eyes and the terrible gluegate green tint screen issue – First the good - from a gamer's perspective This is the best and fastest android phone I have ever used. Amidst all the gaming phones being released this year, I was always skeptical about buying one because I am worried that gaming phones are just gimiks. Good at gaming indeed but pretty average on everything else. Then, there is the flashy… Read more

look. Even a PS Vita is more subtle. For someone in my age group, who would most likely be the one able to afford this kind of luxury, the design is somewhat, childish.

Then came the high end flagships like this Mate 20 pro. Very good at almost every feature that you can actually use in your day to day life. It is the perfect productivity tool for a professional and at the same time it can game hard, just as good as the gaming phones out there (e.g. ROG, Razer 2, Black Shark 2)

Seriously, the features on this phone is top of the line. You will not feel any lag. From opening multiple apps, browsing websites, loading games, its all smooth and you will not feel that the phone is struggling.

The camera is superb. You will not have trouble getting the bokeh effect in your pictures. The battery is heaven sent with its long life and fast charge speed. I am sure you have read or watched this in all reviews. If you are really interested in this phone, these are all true. It also has that premium feel to it. You will love how heavy the phone is. It feels solid and not flimsy.

The Bad

So now you would wonder why I gave it 1 star? Well, to be honest, if it is not for this one thing, I would have given it more than 5 stars if I can. I tell you now, do not buy this phone at least until they sort out their issues. The phone is plagued with a display issue that affects a significant percentage of the phones they stock. It is known as a green tint issue or glue gate. Some say its caused by the panels they use (supplied by LG) but i have the other panel (BOE) and I still have the issue. Some say its the glue they used inside the phone, hence the term glue gate. Look it up in google. Its basically a screen bleeding issue where you will see a greenish tint prominent to all sides of the OLED panel. Its annoying, I tell you.

Huawei in other countries have acknowledged this as a fault and accepting immediate free replacement. But here in Australia, they remain silent and try to ignore this fault thinking it would go away. I have been dealing with this issue for days talking to both Optus and Huawei. They choose to remain silent and the best they can advise is to offer repairs. Repair a phone which costs around $1500 which you only had for a couple days? Really that doesn't work well.

Don't get me wrong, the phone is so good I am willing to wait this out a bit more. However, with the stress and problems you will get dealing with a company that is trying to beat Samsung and Apple but just cant step up to their level of quality and customer service, I do not think its worth it. If you are planning to, think twice when buying this phone. It is a lemon phone and it will just give you problems. You will not get peace of mind guarantee that they will replace the phone with a brand new one and you may potentially be stuck with something that will haunt and annoy you every time you look at the screen of your $1500 phone.
