Grew to hate this phone – Made the mistake of buying this phone based on reviews. Unfortunately most reviews don't take into account living with the phone for 6 months or more. The biggest problem with this phone is Huawei's take on Android EMUI I think it's called. It is clunky and the securities on it are so hard to disable it makes using apps that should work easily,… Read more

really hard. EG my Ring front door bell would never send me notifications that someone was at the door unless I remembered to open the app every morning when I turned the phone on, I spent a lot of time with Ring customer service and never had it resolved. That sort of problem goes for most apps that need any kind of permission to operate, which is most apps. I don't have any such issues with my Nokia which is pure Android. The virtual buttons at the bottom of the screen are really poorly placed and whenever I started typing in a hurry I would close the app I was using or switch to another one because that virtual button is right beneath the space bar. The battery life was pretty good as was the actual ability to make and receive calls. The fingerprint sensor worked great for the first 6 months but then became hit and miss after that, another annoyance. There are a lot of phones on the market in that 3 to 400 dollar range and despite what Canstar say, this is NOT one of the better ones

Extremely disappointed. Screen is very easily cracked – Thinking it would comparable with my Oppo r15. Within one day of owning my nova 3i it fell 30cms and the screen cracked. Extremely disappointed . Huawei will not help in this no support whatsoever.

Not too bad – Good phone, nice screen, responsive, good camera. Power/wake and volume buttons on the same side so I inadvertently turn the volume down instead of answering or activating the phone. With everything nut phone and messages switched of I get more than two days on standby. Notification settings are poor with no fine grain control, to conserve battery… Read more

I switch off location services but it notifies me that "network time not updated" as if it is GPS and not network dependent. Software design is mediocre - cant go directly to call from messages, have to go through two other screens, cant set a home screen link to USB tethering have to go through four screens. Latest Google messages update adds an emoji prompt to the already small text entry area - there are now 3 ways to enter emojis.

Can't use it as phone after 1 year – I have been using the mobile phone for just over 12 months, it can't receive signal of mobile network and 4G network anymore, so basically it is nonfunctional as a phone just after the warranty expired, I don't think it is worthy to pay money to fix it. I used many phones but never experienced bad quality phone like this one. Show details

Good for the price – Paid 300 dollars for this phone and for that price the only real complaint I have is that the image quality in videos is often dreadful. Battery life is good, plenty of space for all the apps I want, easy to use and has face recognition which works most of the time. If I was buying another phone, the only thing I would do differently is buy a slightly higher model phone with better image quality stats. Overall for the price a very good deal. Show details

No tap and pay!? – There is no Near Field Communication (NFC) feature on this phone, meaning no tap and pay. This is extremely inconvenient and disappointing, even older model Samsung phones has this feature! Regardless the apps on the phone run smoothly and so does the phone itself. I've never had a serious problem with this phone so I'm very satisfied with the… Read more

quality. Camera is great, though filters are bad, there is also Retrica! The main feature that attracts people to this phone would be the colour! Lovely purple, it's beautiful! Better yet it doesn't shatter into pieces when you drop it, when you fall on it though, we'll that's another story. I do recommend!

Just An Awesome phone – I brought the Huawei Nova 3i back in October last year From JB-Hi-Fi for about $499 a little expensive but it was worth it I’ve had the phone for about 9 months now and I love it I’ve had no issues what so ever with the phone the battery life is excellent last me more than a day. As for camera it takes nice photos that can be uploaded to… Read more

Facebook and instagram I don’t like portrait mode tho I use the photo mode to take a selfie instead as it comes out much nicer

The best thing about buying this phone is it comes with a case and a screen protector in the box so you can protect your new phone right out the box

Only one negative thing about the phone is that it was really hard to get the SIM card try out so I could put my SIM card and sd card in

Forget the flagship models...this does everything...almost – Fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, dual sim cards, 4 camera lenses and 128gb of storage for 60% of the price of an ageing iPhone 6, why would you buy anything else. It even has 6GB of ram! This is a very impressive phone with great battery life. If I were to point out the two short comings I have noticed you could decide whether they bother… Read more

you or not. The first, I replaced my Huawei 3e with this phone the 3i. What surprised me was the 3e had USB C and the 3i a later model went back to Micro USB a minor shortcoming but when you have been used to USB C it does seem like a little backward step going to a micro usb and it's one sided orientation.

The second thing is I can't see the screen at all with polarized sunnies on.

I don't use google pay anyway but NFC doesn't exist on this phone and the loud speaker is ok. Otherwise this is a photo taking, big screen, big storage phone that I can have my personal and work sim cards in. What more could you want for the price

Best device I have ever had – I have just purchased this beauty and am thrilled. At half the cost of a new IPhone I believe it performs just as well. A mere $344 from Office works makes for a great lower budget phone with nearly all the qualities of a high end phone. I highly recommended. Show details

Love it – I like the size of this phone and its battery life is good. The only thing i dont like is speaker volume. Last phone had very good extra boosted volume. The amount of space is 128gb which is more than plenty and you can install a sd card . The photo app is not great and took some time to get used to. I cant really say anything else bad. Glad i purchased it Show details ·  1

Huawei Nova 3i, outstanding and surprising – I have had little to no problems with this phone since I bought it from JB Hi Fi Jan 2019 at $550. Going from a Samsung s5 this Huawei phone was a significant improvement. This phone is good at a reasonable price – I bought this mobile phone for the reason of its dual SIM 4G function at a reasonable price. After using it for half a year, I find this dual sim function works well, the 4G signal is better than my previous phone with the same sim card, the same service provider at the same place. Furthermore, the system is always running fast even after I… Read more

download 75 apps, and the game "clash royale" is also running smoothly without crash or delay. Besides, the camera on this phone is good, I can easily take photos without extra settings. Although it may take 1-2 seconds for the phone to process the photos due to different photography environment, the quality of the picture is not bad, especially for the picture captured at night. My only concern is that it would be better if the phone has an NFC function. Anyway, considering its price, this phone is a good bargain in my view.

Overall satisfactory – I use my mobile phone mainly for work and entertainment thus durability of the battery is very important. Its battery can last me the whole day without having to charge in the middle of the day. The camera quality is overall better than other other brands I've used but I find that photos turn out a bit grainy in low light area. The apps do generally run smoothly and I hardly face any issue with the phone at all. Show details

Huawei. I can't pronounce it but damn it's a good phone – Purchased my Huawei 3i from JB hi-fi and as I have never owned a Huawei mobile before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I spent the good part of two weeks researching phones in the mid range area and shortlisted it to 6 different phones. Upon setting up the phone I immediately noticed a difference in Android, however I found a very simple and… Read more

quick to learn. This phone is amazing. It has 128 gigabytes, with 4 gig ram, and some amazing artificial intelligence. To be brutally honest, I have seen some of my friends with their $1,500 iPhones that ain't capable of doing what the 3i can do. Obviously the down points to the phone are that it doesn't feature NFC, and now with the Trump crap going on, it's a guessing game whether or not updates will continue on this phone. That aside this phone is fantastic. It offers so many features, the battery lasts forever, the only problem I have is with the internal speaker which lacks sound quality. My Nokia 6 had 10 times better speakers then this phone but still it's not enough to knock a star off. if you are honestly looking for a good phone that does so many things with such a good camera and artificial intelligence and even is cool little qmojis that imitate your facial features, this phone is a barrel of laughs and a whole heap of fun.

Wife loves it – Bought this phone last year for wife as her birthday gift. She has been using Samsung S7 previously. Got her the Irish blue. She loves it. Irish blue colour is simply stylish and superb, makes the phone look expensive, :) . Typing messages is easy as she does tent to spend heaps time on facebook and whatsapp. Sound quality is good for its class of being budget phone. Huawei done a fantastic job creating a stunning budget phone.

Great battery, I dont like the camera however – The camera quality was poor. Every photo I tried to take of my moving dog came up blurry. The display is super bright which is great. The colours on the screen look nice. The phone tended to lag a little once I downloaded a few apps (FB, Instagram, etc). The battery life on this phone is phenomenal. reliable and good price – The device has a big and high resolution screen. It is easy to view for seniors with such a competitive price. You will never get such a price for Rom of 128GB.

Made the move from apple – Have been an apple guy since day 1, ended up smashing my last iPhone and thought I'd give this a go with the price and great reviews, not disappointed at all, never thought I'd like android, so glad I made the change, half the price, twice the features! Dealt with Customer Representative, Not resolved – I have had many phones in the past from different providers and so far this is the worst I have ever owned. 1. Camera quality - ultra bright, some people will like it but I don't. It is as if all your photos are enhanced and does not look natural at all. 2. All the key menus are backwards e.g. Back button is on the left not right. You will get… Read more

use to it but it is very annoying

3. Very difficult to customise the settings.

4. Very weak glass/screen despite claiming they used the toughest glass screen in the market. I have had this phone for less than 2 months and the first time I have dropped it, it has cracked badly despite using the silicon cover as well as the screen protector they have provided. My previous phones have had fair shares of drops but never badly cracked just like this phone.

Upon contacting their customer service, they advised that the glass replacement warranty only applies to certain phones (premium) with the specs as this phone. I have made a complaint about this, that they should extend this across all huawei phones that has the same glass/screen specification.

Update: Customer service representatives have been professional in dealing the complaint and the escalations has been handed very well. Unfortunately, after several phone calls and emails, they are unable to help me with my issues but they are happy to fix my phone with charge of course.

Worst phone I have ever purchased – The bad When someone calls swiping to answer does not connect the audio (The phone must be unlocked to receive calls) From the SMS list you can't press the phone icon to quickly call back because the phone instead randomly picks one of your other contacts and dials them instead Defaults to showing apps on only the top 7/8th of the screen with an… Read more

ugly black band at the bottom (there is an option to fix this but Huawei warn apps may become unstable) Unable to get SMS/Email/Phone call notifications on a connected smart watch (does upload activity so is connected) After selecting an app for the first time it opens and is then terminated by the phone (not shown in the list of recent apps). Opening a second time is generally successful Constant reminders apps are using battery (despite setting the option to disable this warning) Camera does not focus on close objects Feels cheap

The good Huawei include a back cover and (cheap) screen protector with the phone (probably because the phone does not use a toughened glass screen)

After talking to Huawei "help" was instructed to perform a factory reset and wasted another 2 to 3 hours setting it up only to have similar problems

Phone is not fit for purpose

Needs random factory resets – I absolutely hate this phone as of today. I just got back from vacation with my family, took some great pictures. And it required a factory reset, so now everything is lost for a second time. Once is a random, twice in this short a time period is a inherent error of the phone. All of my contacts, all of my apps are gone. I basically have to start… Read more

customising the phone again from scratch, with the continuous worry that it will randomly delete everything. Not worth the hassle and I would not even recommend this phone to my enemies. I've had the phone for a few months and it's done it twice with no warning.

Second mid price Huawei phone. And bought a third as a present. Love the phones. Have had a slight s – Yes that's correct I'm no going to waffle on the phone is well priced and does what it is supposed to do. Plus two year warranty and long battery life. Bye Samsung - Hello Huawei Nova 3i – Well, if you read the professional reviews they'll tell you that if you're a happy user of high end phones, maybe it's time to try the mid range. I have and for 1/3rd of the price, I now have a dual SIM phone (which is handy for me) that does all the things you need from a smart phone. Bigger screen and as fast as anything I've come across in the… Read more

market.

It even comes with a screen protector and a clear case supplied too, so there's not even the need to spend more (unless you really want to). I personally hate cases, but the Nova 3i is a slippery sucker and the case will provide some grip and some level of protection from a drop (which was the death of my beloved Samsung S7). To fix my Samsung was going to be $360 - I added $80 and walked away with a brand new Samsung killer.

Grab one - I doubt you'll be disappointed...

Huawei 3i instead of a Samsung Note – I bought the Nova 3i just over a week ago and I am happy with the purchase. I had a Samsung Note 4 which I would have kept however it had a charging problem that Samsung wanted to charge me a minimum of $400 just to look at it which is very annoying because they just want you to buy a newer phone. As a mini protest I decided to look at other… Read more

brands in the medium price range which included the Nokia 7 plus and the Motorola g6 and decided to buy the Huawei 3i.

The 3i phone is better than my Note and cost me $499 with free bluetooth ear buds from Harvey Norman. The one negative thing is the Huawei's photos are slightly reddish, less detailed and a bit over saturated not a deal breaker for me.

The positives are the Huawei 3i's battery lasts way longer than the Note, the screen is sharp and I like the maintenance apps that come with the phone. It comes with 128GB of storage and I can add an SD card for more storage if I want.

The features of the 3i are not too far short of phones that cost twice as much however the real difference to me is after a few years when the the phone has issues it is a lot easier to throw away a $500 phone instead of a $1000 phone because big companies like Samsung discourage a fix hoping you'll pay for a newer version.

I gave the phone 5 stars because for the price it is 5 star value.

The price point was amazing and I had done a lot of research before purchasing.
