My favourite phone – It is my favourite phone and will be. I changed to a different company just because of the google store. The quality of photos - no-one does it better! Show details
Excellent phone with even better customer service – I thought I'd do a review regarding the p30 Pro and the support from Huawei after reading the reviews on here in particular a scathing review by Darren A about both the product and services. I'm in no way associated with Huawei but after years of frustration with Samsung and the woeful service where nothing is ever wrong with their phones quality… Read more
and bugs l thought I'd try Huawei mainly because of the camera, the first phone was a mate10 and l was extremely impressed with it especially the photos. Unfortunately I'd been listening to music at the beach and placed the phone on the roof of the car, without thinking l headed off and at 60kph slowed to make a turn and watched the phone fly down the road into the gutter too my horror. Too my surprise all that was damaged was the glass back even though it only had a cheap plastic cover, the S7 l had before it screen cracked after dropping it 10 inches onto a timber coffee table when brand new because it got so hot while setting it up. Because the P10 was no longer waterproof l decided to upgrade to the P30 Pro as it was also waterproof which is a rarity nowadays, l have been extremely happy other than some minor issues with hotspot and camera focusing on zoom at 30× plus intermittently. On the camera l have to say it's terrific and clearly better than friends S21 especially the macro pics they're brilliant, sound could be better but Bluetooth too earbuds is terrific and the fast charging and battery life top notch unlike Samsung that doesn't even provide the charger anymore. A problem that has been occurring with these phones is violet bleeding on the screen especially when warm, l rang Huawei about the issues especially the Violet stripes and this is where the difference between Samsung and Huawei are poles apart. When l rang they asked if the phone was damaged in any way which it wasn't, we then went through a trouble shooting list that didn't work so the next step was a full reset. I didn't want to do it at the time because of the mucking around redoing all the apps and google passwords so did a soft reset and told them I'd see how it goes, without asking they contacted me to see if the matter was sorted so I decided to do the full reset. After that was unsuccessful l contracted them and because there are no dealers near Gladstone Qld l was sent an express mailing invoice already paid for, l sent the phone back on the 14/7 and received a message on the 18/7 they had received my phone. Today the 22/7 l received the phone back with new screen no questions asked at no cost, l can't think of better service and any time I've had contact with Huawei they have been super nice and listened to what I've said. I had been in touch with them with some issues with the P10 and they were terrific then as well, the trouble they go too with follow up calls got to the stage l thought not again and I'd contact them if l had further issues. A lot of other companies could take a leaf out of their book about customer service and backing their products, it's a real pity because they're Chinese and the associated spying business they're given a bad name. Pros Camera, phone quality, superfast charging, great customer service, looks and 256gb storage Cons Speakers could be better, inbuilt apps can be invasive but I simply don't use anything requiring personal information. Hotspot can play up but I've found simply turning phone off and on fixed the issue. I have attached a couple of pics taken from the macro lens, this cute little butterfly was only about 20mm but gives an example of just how good the camera is.
One of the best Android phones available – Purchased this phone after owning multiple Sony handsets, Optus no longer sell the Sony so took the plunge on the P30 Pro after reading lots of reviews. On unboxing was pleasantly surprised that it came with a clear case as well as a fast charger, initial impressions were good, solid build, screen is amazing and bright and the camera is top notch,… Read more
if there was more Google support I would be looking at the P40 Pro but as Donald Trump has blocked Huawei from the US market I will now have to look at another brand. An excellent Flagship handset that has excellent features and hardware. Battery life is epic, and charging is very fast
What a great android phone. Can't believe the quality – State of the art camera, night and day. The filters are amazing. Battery duration is surprisingly long. The brightness is adjustable to choice, and Apps run pleasingly. Nothing to say that is negative about this phone. Show details
Purchase of Huawei P30 Pro mobile phone – I am happy with the Huawei P30 Pro. It was exactly as advertised regarding condition and appearance and I have recommended your company to my friends and family and would confidently purchase from you again.
Excellent Mobile Phone – I Purchased the New Edition 256/8 GB version P30 pro just over 3 months ago and its without a doubt the best phone ive ever used, comparing it to the phones ive previously owned... Pixel 3, Samsung S10+ which i still have, Note 20 Ultra, refunded after 3 days due to being nothing more than a gimmick... The P30 pro from build design, ease of use,… Read more
software, hardware and google services with outstanding camera hardware is in my honest opinion one of the best phones ever made. The only thing that could be better is the speaker, its not bad, still good for day to day use, but its not loudest ive heard, wearing ear buds does makes the speaker quality sound alot better and very loud. The P30 pro has everything youd want in a smartphone and the camera on the P30 pro is unbelievable, low light photography and the ability to take photos in pitch black surroundings is something other phone cameras cannot do, none of my previous phones cameras were this good. Taking Zoom and Macro Photos with the P30 pro is perfect. Video quality is 4K @ 30fps, 1080p @ 60fps and the quality is Good. The Video &Camera has everything you need. Since ive had this phone ive had no issues, its fast responsive with excellent battery life, with medium to heavy use, surfing internet, watching and listening to music on youtube im getting around 4 days before having to recharge and with fast charging it doesnt take long to fully recharge.
Ive noticed some reviews on here leaving negative comments and i doubt they are legit because i own the p30 pro, ive used it, seen the camera quality ive never had any problems. I have no complaints regarding the P30 pro its upgradeable to Android 11 and 12. After 3 months no problems, still going strong. its a really good phone.
4 out of 5 stars, because the only thing that could be better is the speakers. Overall an excellent phone. Worth buying.
I will say... My Girlfriend has an Iphone 12 and she prefers to use the P30 pro to take photos as she said the quality is just better, not that the iphone is bad but the p30 pro photos looks much better.
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! – How do I give 0 stars? What a piece of junk phone! 3 weeks after buying it the camera app starts crashing. To the point where it is totally unusable. Along with this the phone also won't unlock after the screen times out. Only way to get into the phone is press and hold power button for full restart. The camera issue was constant whereas the… Read more
lock issues was sporadic.... About 8 times a day. Baring in mind this is my only phone for my business.....already suffering due to Covid 19. So losing calls, which was happening frequently now as the phone when it locked up would not accept calls or texts. This is was now double hurting my income.
Following standard phone issue procedures I backed up the phone using Huawei software. Performed a full reset. Restored backup only to find instantly the same issues. So I performed another full reset and set up the phone with only basic install. Worked! Perfect.... Oh hang on. Nope. Camera froze on 4th test. Then crashed again and again and again! Still broken. Including the intermittent locking issue. Next day I got an update notification to update the OS to EMUI 10.1. Did this and wait..... Everything worked! Awesome..... For 2 days.... Then back to same issue. So I performed another full reset. Same issues still there and continuing.....
I submitted a support ticket to Huawei and supplied the required details regarding Serial Numbers, Model Numbers, Phone Numbers, House Numbers, Shoe Size Numbers and Genitalia Length Numbers to receive a quite polite, badly constructed response stating that the device was required to be inspected and I was to deliver it to a drop off point so it could be swooped up and speedily delivered by our every so efficient Australian Postal service to the middle of Bumfk Chinatown 2000 km away from my hometown. I quite politely replied this was not an option as it was a business phone and I did not have access to another phone to use as a replacement. 1 week after submitting the support ticket. Another update. Fixed! Again.... Great!! 3 days later? Nope... Back come the same problems.
Right now I have a useless piece of Crappy Crystal P30 Pro with no functioning cameras. Unlocks from screen time out, when it feels like it and as I found out just the other day after an embarrassing moment at the fuel station.... an NFC toggle option that is just for show! Although it states NFC is working fine in Google pay and my CBA app (not setup at the same time) it does nothing. No beeps, pleeps or creeps!!
Again, I can not send this phone 2000 km to have it inspected for them to invent a claim about water damage, cracks or too many bad puns causing the issues!. I took it back to Harvey Norman and they won't refund it, understandably, otherwise they are left with the piece of petrified dog crud and out of pocket. Phone condition is perfect and has been in the protector case it came with since I opened it and has no scratches and or cracks or dents. So what now? I can't afford another phone for my already suffering business to replace this block of Breathing Turd whilst it gets posted lazily and hung upside down in a lab for 2 weeks whilst I lose even more calls on the $100 Log of Brown that Harvey Norman offered to sell me whilst it's being inspected.
Anyway...my review Do not buy this phone! You will regret it.
Best Phone Ive Ever Owned – I have flipped back and forth from iPhone to Samsung for years now chasing the best phone camera on the market. The Huawei P30 Pro is EVERYTHING! The camera is amazing, so many options. Its fast, the apps run smoothly (have owned it for 6 months now). I use my phone to run a business, so it gets a decent workout and hasn't yet showed signs of slowing down. Show details
Better than Samsung A series but not S series – *Camera, in darkness, fantastic; in light, not so much. The more light, the worse the image. Messed around with the settings for a couple of hours and can't get a good image in bright light. *Doesn't handle MMS very well. If my data is off and I get an MMS, it simply won't download when I turn the data on. I have to reboot the phone with data… Read more
on; ie, it can't activate data for MMS post the MMS received. *Mishandles creating a contact via a message or call. Let's me store the name but that name won't display when that contact contacts me again; it only displays the phone number. To display the name, I have to delete the contact and then recreate via phone > contact (external to the call/message). *Message notification is pretty adhoc. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, and never with MMS. I've never had a problem with any downloaded apps, the battery is very good, and the dual SIM exchange incredibly easy, and for that, I've given it OK not Bad. Huawei is significantly cheaper than Samsung but it's pretty clear why. Don't regret buying it but wouldn't buy another.
Very powerful smart phone – I brought this powerful smartphone in last November. It works pretty good. Especially its powerful camera. It can zoom up to 50x which can take a very clear picture even the objective is very far away from me. It also runs very smoothly for most of my Apps. The screen is also very cool. The supper charge is very awesome, it only take less than 30… Read more
mins to get my phone full charged. The down side is the Huawei embed Apps which cannot be uninstalled.
basic features as a phone poor – unable to connect at my home.I previously had an I phone8 which had excellent reception at my home;so poor aerial function makes it unusable .Also only rings for max of 20 seconds and unable to lengthen time of call ring,so can be a very irritating feature trying to answer before it goes to message bank. battery a good feature, lasts well and charges quickly.I take few photos so that to me is a minor aspect Show details
Great phone, rubbish camera – I bought this phone because of the fantastic reviews of its camera. After using it now for one year, I am sure the majority of reviews were written based on specs rather than actual image quality. My wife has a pixel 3a, and it delivers consistently better photos in all conditions. Wish I'd never bought this phone. Show details
Bad service area, stay away from p30 – This phone has good and bad points, I won't focus to much on the good side because there are plenty of them, but I'll mention what I think is not so great. MOBILE SERVICE if you are in an area with bad / poor mobile service definition do not buy this phone, it just won't work for both mobile service and mobile data, I have to do internet call on… Read more
my wifi and I can make mobe phone calls with my old Samsung galaxy 5 anywhere in the house, and nothing worse than music buffering constantly! PHYSICAL SIZE Its a great phone for emails and videos/photos as it's so big however if you wear board shorts or have small pockets you'll have carry your phone everywhere. Overall it's not a bad phone but it's worth nothing when you can't make a call in your own house.

Love this phone so far – I love the camera, it's the reason why I bought it. The phone has soo much memory! The battery lasts twice as long as any other phone I have had. I use it for social media and some games which it has been great for. I have had no issues with the phone at all. Only slight downside is not being able to use normal headphones and the headphones that plug in this phone plug into the same port as the charger. Show details
Wish I'd never bought it. Hate it – Have had this phone for over two months. I bought it because the camera said 50 zoom and I photograph ospreys. I have had a Samsung camera 21 zoom with internet but it was freezing. I need a good zoom camera because the ospreys are nesting up high. I have only ever been able to answer 2 calls on this. I can't answer incoming calls. Was told to… Read more
turn it off and then on by Huawei. That worked for one call. Then the screen slides makes a buzzing noise and there is an almost blank page. It does this repetitively. Then the screen went very dark. I was able to hold the side switch down and see through the darkness, just how to restart. The 50 zoom camera is a joke. The Samsung camera took much better long distance photos. The long distance 20 zooms of birds on this camera are blurred and hopeless. But up close I think the camera is very good. What do you do when the internet screen buzzes, slides away and keeps giving you a white screen with just a bit of writing at the top.. I wish I had never heard of the advertising rubbish about 50 zoom. I wish I'd never bought this. I was helped the one time I rang Huawei so the phone help is good. Bur fancy selling a phone without an instruction manual. Samsung were no longer making the galaxy camera or I would have bought another one
Better than P20 Pro for sure – Had P20 Pro for 1.5 years. I hold on not purchasing P30 Pro as I thought there was not many differences worth paying over $1000. | Then eBay 15% came along hard to resist and bought it. I originally want to keep P20 Pro as my spare but after using it and testing it for a week, I decided not to keep P20 Pro. Here is why: 1) Better screen 2) 5x… Read more
optical zoom and 50x digital zoom 3) Fast respond 4) Wireless charging and reverse charging I can charge my wife's iPhone 8 5) Dual lens recording - this is awesome feature 6) Night mode is much better than the already awesome P20 Pro night mode, yes I tested when I had both in hand in the same lighting condition 7) Battery life can last from 1.5 days (Moderate to heavy use) to 2.5 days (light use)
Didn't purchase Mate 30 Pro due to lack of Google apps (yes it can be side loaded and then recently banned).
I can't beleve how beautiful the camera is! – It took me a while to get this phone because everywhere I went was sold out of the Breathing Crystal colour! Now, I will say, this colour is nothing like the photos you see! its even better than the photos as it has a mother of pearl effect to it which enhances the overall visual effect of the colours and rea design. I was so happy I didn't settle… Read more
for the Aurora colour!
The battery life in this phone is amazing with thanks to its slightly larger battery then the competitors have. II have never had an issue with running out of charge and I use my phone pretty heavy when I am on the train and out of the house. The phone also charges really quickly from almost any charger so long as it got the power to give. For example, I have a 6 USB charger witha screen that shows how much draw each item is taking. My brand new, 3ed Gen iPad pro 12.9" draws less current then this phone. I don't mean a little either! My iPad will take 0.90a and the P30 will draw around 1.30a which may not seem much but it really is. I have never really used the QI charging as I prefer to plug it in of a night time, so I can't comment on that.
The camera is way above and beyond! The zoom is amazing however, it can be hard to take a clear photo as you need to have a really steady hand if holding the camera but I would imagine this would also be true of any camera. You can see it tries to stabilize the image but still doesn't have the same effect.
The Dolby Atmos works with Bluetooth which makes me happy as my old phone only worked for the headphone jack. I mean thats not an option on this phone as it does not have a headphone jack, just the type c USB. One thing that did take a bit to get used to was the earpiece for phone calls as there is actually no speaker. The phone does show you where to put your ear for the best sound but it's not so natural to me as it's not right at the top of the phone. This is in no way a complaint but more of an observation.
This phone as an IR blaster also! Yes, Samsung have had them in the past but don't have them anymore to the best of my knowledge and apple have never offered this. I can control almost everything that has a remote in my house. I control all the air conditioners, TV's, Stereo's and some fans. I can even control the Xbox from it but not actually play the Xbox!
I have attached some photos that I have taken with the phone as not only am I amazed by the photos but so are my friends.
Feature packed – This has been my second Android phone for 2019 having gone from IPhone XS Max which is a great phone, to the galaxy s10+ which I found a great disappointment with its camera but aside from that a great phone but liking photography I sold it jumped over to Huawei for the first time and I have to say this phone imo is the best device on the market.… Read more
The camera is amazing, the battery lasts a whole day with rigorous use easily and charges back up quickly.
great – i dont use it much for gaming just browsing, text and calls. the camera is great but i dont really use it, IR blaster is fun to use, runs smooth for the most part may lag here a there i have noticed Show details
So far so good. Top notch camera – Camera works a treat. 10x optical zoom is fantastic, thought 50x digital is gimmicky and not really useful. Finger unlock is sometimes a bit slow but usually OK. Face unpick is very quick. Battery life is fantastic, lasts over 2 days with normal use. Love the colour, it's like a mother of pearl. Sound system could be better too, just basic mono at… Read more
the bottom. Had a Samsung before which functionally works more smoothly, though that may be because I was so used to it. Expensive though at $1599. But they often have deals on their website, so I got a $200 woollies voucher
