Worked well for a year, then didn't – I've had the 572XP for nearly 2 years. I've used it mostly for milling with a 36" bar, so it has been worked hard, but only a modest number of hours. Have looked after it well, 25:1 fuel, good quality oil, kept the chain sharp & well tuned, etc etc. It gave me a year of good service, starting well hot & cold, plenty of power for firewood cutting… Read more

(although not really up to the task of milling hardwood - in hindsight I should have bought a 90cc saw).

Then it just gave up. Poor starting especially when hot, sometimes cutting out at high revs. Took it to the dealer for a service & firmware update, and have had it back to them three times in the past six months. Their mechanic has pulled it apart, tried everything but has no clue what the issue is. Sometimes I get lucky and it works OK, half the time it doesn't, I spend 30 minutes trying to start it and give up.

Would I buy another 572XP or recommend others to buy one? No I wouldn't. I know this is a familiar story with most chainsaw models - with any particular saw some people have a good experience & others don't. For a professional-grade, $2000 saw I'd expect many years of trouble-free service and unfortunately that's not what I got with the 572XP.

Superb Upgrade – Purchased 2 years ago to replace/supplement my 30 year old Husky 268. It was still running stronger than many new saws, but simply getting on in it's years. Absolutely love the upgrade. Power is just superb & worst case starts on second pull. Vibration is minimal & it "Feels" lighter to use than the old 268. 2 hours work on the past weekend to… Read more

billet up an 8m x 700mm Iron Bark Trunk, Including ripping billets down to a loadable size.

20" bar running skip tooth chain.

A little thirstier on fuel, but to be expected with the extra power.

Of all the saws I've used over the years, this one comes out a rung above the rest.

Fantastic – Lovely saw to use. The lack of vibration is a huge plus. Very well built I can see this saw in my long term future. Keep the saw sharp and basic maintenance up happy days.  Show details

The best chainsaw I’ve ever owned – I bought this Husky as a replacement for my previous ‘big’ saw (a Shindaiwa 757) which had an untimely mechanical issue. My first Husky and I am now a hopeless fanboy - it is the best. Same cc as the Shindaiwa - 70 - but cuts literally twice as fast. The saw feels just a touch higher rpm but I think the secret might be the Husqvarna X Cut chain… Read more

which seems to cut better and last longer than what I was using before (Carlton).

This Husky feels extremely well made with the entire base half being magnesium rather than the usual plastic. Not too heavy with good balance and low vibration. Pretty good fuel economy for the size; way better than the Shindaiwa, better than my 50cc Stihl, and about the same as my 35cc Echo (adjusting of course for size but even in absolute terms it’s better than the Stihl).

I specifically wanted to get a Husqvarna because I had read good things about their air injection feature which is meant to create a vortex around the filter thus reducing the frequency of filter changes. If this is true and it does reduce filter maintenance then this will literally be the perfect saw. The only downside I can think of is the price, which at $1989 is on the steep side. At the time I bought it though Husqvarna was throwing in a bunch of free gear which was nice. I bought it from Sharps power equipment in Benalla and he put a bit of discount on it too without me asking so he’s got a customer for life.

As long as this saw keeps on going like it has done in the past few months I will be a happy camper. We rely on wood for all our heating and live in the mountains so we go through it pretty quick. This saw has made my cutting much faster and much more pleasant. The perfect saw so far!

The 572xp has far exceeded my expectations! – It starts first pull maybe second if not first and have been using it to cut fire wood (ironbark spotted gum and white gum) has not missed a beet out preforms old models with ease! Would recommend to anyone interested in them! Very low vibration compared to old models. Show details
