Hy-Clor i1

Overall happy with this as an entry level robot pool cleaner. I have a roughly 10,000L above ground vinyl pool. It sits below a palm tree so I would often get nuts and berry's falling into the pool. This wasn't an issue in summer as I would get in and manually vacuum but as winter came along I had to choose between letting my pool slowly fill up with berries OR putting my big boy pants on and braving the Antarctic conditions (17 degrees Celsius :/). After a few attempts I chose a third option! While I know there are probably better options out there at a similar price, I ultimately went with the Hy-Chlor purely because I could buy it from Bunnings. If I did have any issues with it I knew I could just take it into Bunnings for a swap or credit as opposed to dealing with some online customer service rep or bob from my local pool shop. In the Hy-Chlor range the i1 is the base model from what I could see and was suitable for my needs.
It cleans the floor of the pool only and to be honest it does a pretty good job. Now I just leave it in all week and on the weekend I will pull it out to charge it and clean out the compartment that collects the debris. So far I recommend this device. It is simple, not alot too it really, which I actually like as it means less things that can go wrong with it. It just travels around, bumps into the wall, then heads back the other way. The wheels have a little bit of movement in them so that it doesn't travel on the same path all the time.
The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because it would be great if the battery lasted longer. So far I am getting maybe 2-3 days of cleaning out of it, and on each day it cleans for maybe 2 hours. Being battery powered I can only imagine this will degrade over time but that is more a limitation of the technology than anything.
So far so good, as long as it keeps eating those berries!
