A pain in the head – I constantly have to make sure I don't smash my leg against the footboard and half the damn drawer fronts are falling off. I might toss the drawers since they don't add stability, no track Show details
I liked it! – I actually just got it for the new mattress that I got, and got to say it's not that bad. I wished I found these reviews first, would def. made my process much easier because I found this product on http://www.myikeabedroom.com/ikea-brusali-bed-frame-review/ which wasn't really helpful at all. Oh and if you are missing something make sure you contact them back, for some reason I was missing a few screws which isn't a big deal but still. Show details
Unsafe and poorly designed bed frame! – I have bought this bed recently and it already bruised me so much in the short time (2 weeks) that I've been using it. The hanging/protruding bed end is really terrible. I currently have 2 bad bruises (one on the back of my left leg and the other on top of my right knee) after hitting the hanging (left/right) portion of this bed by accident! … Read more
I think this is a badly designed bed and have serious safety concerns. I have even tried to contact Ikea as I don't want think I can live wit it bruising me all the time by accident. Haven't heard back from Ikea - really frustrating.
Not too bad – Bought this as a first double bed for my daughter. Would second the other reviewers about the food board, but is pretty solid once it's make up. Bought the better slats and the firmest mattress and have just added the storage drawers some months later. Unfortunately there are some downsides apart from the footboard. does not fit snugly. Not sure if this is applicable to the other double mattresses, but checked the display bed in-store and it wasn't bought a snug fit either. The double bed fitted sheet and is too big for the mattress.
The storage drawers were easy and quick to assemble but the added length of them is about 2cm shorter than the length of the bed, so again not a tight fit.
Ikea beds are different in size to regular Australian-sized beds so you'd think they would make everything fit together nicely since it's all available from the one store.
Surprisingly easy – I put this bed together with my 3 children. It took approximately 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, the hardware used in step 1 is made of plastic. When we tightened them in step 3, one of them cracked and broke. Fortunately, we don't live far from the store and they supplied us with 5 more at no charge. In step 18, you determine the level you want your… Read more
mattress. I'm glad we chose the highest level for our HAUGSVÄR mattress. I still consider it low compared to a normal pillow top mattress. Not sure why you would want it lower unless you've chosen a different mattress set up. In step 20, the screws were difficult to get down all the way so we had to settle for our best efforts. Everything else was pretty easy. We chose the Luroy base which seems to be fine, especially for one child. I would upgrade if it's being used for 2 adults. It is surprisingly heavy and feels solid. I suspect someone will hit their knee on the foot-board as mentioned in the other review. The other thing I'm not crazy about is the foot-board goes to the floor and that made it a little difficult to make the bed and move it into position. Haven't slept on it yet so that will be the real test.
Dangerous bed end – The bed itself is good but the foot of the bed is wider than the mattress and is a hazard when you walk past it. I have knocked my knees on it several times which is quite painful.
