best so far for me – Own two of these mattresses for 3 years. I find no wear or give in them so far. the best mattress of my life – the best mattress of my life, the greatest sleep: i bought 3: one each for me, my daughter, and my mom. we all love it!!! can't say enough about it!

Horrible off-gassing - smells like shoe polish! – Bought this expecting an "organic " experience but the mattress smelled like shoe polish and it still smells after 2 months - not as bad but what is this off-gassing odour and what is it doing to us?

Ok so far after a couple of years – Reading the other reviews, I can only comment on my own experience. We were after a firm mattress, and that's what we got. No real complaints so far, although it would be nice if it was reversible. So after a couple of years it's still fine. There's a small area that is slightly depressed, but nothing major.

On a slat base - it's rock hard – Please note... we only slept on this mattress 4 nights, too hard. This coment does not relate to long term use. It's just a cautionary note for when you're buying. Paid $900 for this mattress after testing out the comfy one in the shop. Was told that it would be firmer on slat base, but not really noticeable - wrong - it was like sleeping on… Read more

concrete. We could not feel the benefit of the latex top at all. The difference between the one in the shop that was on a sprung base and our at home experience on slats was incredible - could not sleep, sore hips and shoulders etc. To be fair to Ikea through, we returned mattress, bought a another and they returned the price of the Heggedal. Perhaps this mattress would have been better with an additional latex topper, but given the price, we went for a cheaper one second time round and will get a topper if we need to. Beds!!! All bedding shops should have sleepovers - could be a real marketing angle. So to sum up, if you're going to buy this mattress after trying the really comfy one in the shop, ask the staff to kindly put the mattress on a slat base to check the difference - it's massive. Sorry, it's too hard to find anything positive. The one in the shop on the sprung base felt great. Too hard.

Rubbish – Worst mattress I've ever slept on... Constant back pain every morning. Now sleeping on a kids bed!! Biggest waste of money ever .. I'll be complaining to Ikea tomorrow and see what the response is... It certainly didn't meet our expectations. Total rubbish and I just can't see how it cost $1000 Nothing Sore back

The worst mistake of my life – This Heggedal mattress must be the worst I have bought,both my wife and me suffered back pain 1 month after delivery I had to pull it & drag it out of the room,sleeping on the floor was much better,no more to Ikea mattresses also no more (Pocket Springs) I went back to the old spring system. when you first sleep on it,if feels okay but when you wake up, your back will tell you,(take a day off work)
