Best space saving bed. not for low ceilings – The bed didnt creek that much at all but i think thats because we have the version with the long desk under it... which is solid and holds everything together. got years of good use from it. You have to make sure the side rails are exactly the right way around or youll have trouble fitting the bolts.. assembly can be a pain.  Show details

Perfect for teenage room , but do need high celing to be comfortable – The trick in installing it is to follow the instructions exactly, and it all fits together. As suggested by IKEA one need to tighten the screws and nuts to prevent any squeaks  Show details

Squeaky! – Cannot move an inch without the bed squeaking. Very wobbly as well. Things fall off the desk when moving at night. very disappointed. Will try WD40 as others suggested and continue to tighten screws.

Non stop creak – It's nice to save space and easy to set up. But the creaking is RIDICULOUS. My son can't breath without it moaning and creaking. Drives all of us nuts. Can't believe such an obvious design flaw goes unchecked. No wonder you can't climb on the bed in store.

Ceiling-scraper! – My 9 year old cannot even come close to sitting upright in the bed and we have standard 8ft ceilings. We have to cut 8" off the legs after putting it together. Big hassle. Other than than, we gained a huge amount if usable floor space with the clift!

Very noisy bed!!! – Great for giving lots of floor space. We have a guest bed chair and desk underneath it. The thing is that at night when all is supposed to be quiet, every turn my son makes the bed rattles, squeaks and bangs off the wall! `it has taken lumps of plaster off it! I tried stuffing a pillow between the bed and wall and numerus other things to no avail. Gives great floor space Very noisy and loose and has to be tightened every week!

Good Loft Bed – When I first got it my sister and I decided that I would sleep on the top bunk but she Really wanted to and so did I. We ended up sleeping top-too-toe! But we don't have any more problems because I Really like the bottom bunk now. So I would recommend it if you are looking for a reliable space-saving bed. I like it because I can put up a blanket and be at home by my self and it saves us space It is quite squeaky Show reply

A hassle – After getting 3 faulty loft beds from ikea I finally got one that would be stable but was only stable because my boyfriend welded it! My first night sleeping in it was alright, if you don't mind the huge noises and groans that come from the frame when you roll over, which is not what you wanna hear 7 feet in the air! Regardless of these things the… Read more

bed looks really good and saves heaps of space. Space saving The whole frame and desk wouldn't fit together and had to be welded so it could be stable

One of the best! – Having been a student, space was a great issue. The usual places I rented, had rooms that wouldn't be able to accommodate a queen size bed. I'm a person who needs a quite bit of space due the amount of electronics and stuff that I own. This product saved me a lot of space and money! I was able to set my home theater system right underneath the bed… Read more

and thus sparing me plenty of space for me to move around my room. Space efficient Havent found one yet

Tromso Loft Bed – Most of the reviews for the tromso loft bed say its terrible, and when I first bought this bed for my 12 year old daughter, I belived them. Now I think this bed is great, it opens up so much room and alows for her own hang-out area. These are some solutions to the problems that people have said- Squeeking- The best solution that I found is… Read more

just ffind the joint that is producing the squeeking, and spray it with WD-40. Another solution is to tighten all the screws once every two weeks.

Wobbling- Attach the bed to a wall. All you have to do is drill some holes in the wall, put a screw in each of them and tie two ropes from the bed railing to the screws.

I hope these solutions work for you, this bed is great even if there are some falts in the manurfactoring procces, you can always fix them with some DIY. Cheap, space saver Squeeky, wobley (but that can be fixed)

Terrible – Unstable, squeeky and poor effort devoted to assembly instructions. When in store, we asked if my daughter could climb the ladder and have and experience the loft bed on display we were denied this opportunity because of company policy. It would have to rate as one of my worst choices in consumer products. Poorly designed. It should be marketed… Read more

towards consumers who don't care about quality. Space saving and reasonably priced. I wasted time, energy and money on a product that really gives IKEA a bad name

Haters Cry – Works great for my 12 year son. Directions could use some insight on which rails need to be on the back left and right; so you don't have to disassemble half way through. Really opened up space in my son's room. I am trying to find a DIY desk solution like the one they sell for $99. Price, height of bed leaves plenty of room below for desk.… Read more

Good – We bought this bed to make use of the space underneath in a very small bedroom for our son. It is great because you can fit alot of extra furniture underneath. It was good value for money for the item and the kids love it. I was wary of purchasing a bed like this from IKEA because I thought it would be hard to put together but it was relatively… Read more

easy to follow the instructions and assemble. It is a very high bed though, which makes it very hard to change the bedding. It is sturdy and also works well with the added desk that can be purchased to put underneath. Good value for money. Adds extra space to a room. Kids love it. It is very high making it hard to change bedding.

Not recommended – The bed squeaks a lot, so spray WD-40 in between the joints to eliminate the squeaking. The bed is still very unstable though, but bearable once you learn how to sleep like a corpse. Space saving Unstable, squeaking

Bad – I love this bed because it gives me more space in my room. But I hate it bcause of the squeaky sound, I cant move my leg without creating a noise. It's driving me crazy! Creates additional space in room SOOOOOOO squeaky
