Lasted a year – This 90cm freestanding dual fuel oven cost 3500 so it’s a moderately expensive appliance. The gas cooktop is still functional although the backsplash stained after a week of use. I’m not concerned with that, I can fabricate a new one from better quality stainless and also make it higher. The electric oven failed by throwing a circuit breaker. An electrician assessed it as either the oven control selector or a thermostat, odd, after a year. Eurolinx kindly referred me to the local repairer with a work order. They will now visit and re-diagnose the problem, order parts, re schedule a visit and presumably repair it. Sounds ok, until you realise that all this is going to spin out over 3 months. A repair person told me that this problem is across all brands, suggested Westinghouse may be better as they’re assembled in Australia. I suggested to Ilve that I need two ovens, one in repairs and one operational to maintain cooking continuity, due to the repair times. Perhaps appliance build quality is poor across the board, if so I suggest you buy based on the ability to service and repair in your locale.
