2 recliner chairs bought 9 years ago - within two years both showed orange staining on leather - we were told it was due to body sweet despite maintaining leather treatment. At about 4 years pvc covering on the “full” leather started peeling - told this was normal, not a fault. You might as well by cheaper PU leather as it has the same coating… Read more

and is cheaper. Leather loung we bought at the same time has never deteriorated.

But finally at about 9-10 years the base of one chair gave way completely and nearly threw me through a plate glass door see attached photos. Sent to IMG - no response

purchased 2 IMG 21 recliners from Wholers about 7 years ago, 2 years ago the arms started peeling but Wholers said they were out of warranty, so we ordered 2 new arms costing $350, now the other 2 arms and the head rest are peeling, they look disgusting and can't be repaired. I have another leather lounge that is 23 years old and still looks as good as new, obviously IMG does not use quality leather, stay away from this brand Show details

Purchased 2 Chairs and footstools in Feb 2024 (having previously owned another one for approx 16 yrs.) Within less than 3 months, the leather stretched, and padding began to compress badly. I have spinal issues and purchased IMG because my previous experience was very good ( that chair is now about 16 years old, leather is still good but… Read more

understandably the foam is lacking)

The new chairs are lacking padding and the leather is very poor quality.

I am now getting postural pain again and have resorted to adding a cushion to sit on!!

Not fit for purpose in less that 12 months!!!

Sedona Chair – We splurged and upgraded from our 2 IMG chairs with separate foot stools that we've had for years and absolutely loved. We went with the Sedona thinking about future proofing as we get older ie electronic to raise/sit and the zero gravity function. My wife loves hers but I cannot get comfortable in mine. I wish they had an electronic lower… Read more

lumbar section you could move to support your back. I feel my back is unsupported and feels like there's a hole there. I have had to buy other lumbar cushions to see if I can fill that void. To date I am still uncomfortable.

Paid ~$4000 aud for each chair and you wouldn't expect that I'd have to go buy anything else at that price, but reality is I had to and will continue until I find something to help.

Not to mention how ugly my chair looks with all these black support cushions on it!

Another suggestion that would have been good is some space between the buttons on the side so we can adjust more easily.

Currently we are still pushing every button to go back.

No instructions come with the chair, it wasn't until the store serviceman came to my house he told me how the USB phone charger works in the chair.

Still contemplating going back to my old IMG chair that we still have.

Disappointing for me after purchasing such an expensive chair!

Total disregard for the consumer and fake mention on their website – My wife and I order two armchairs “scandy”. According to the seller and IMGComfort website it was possible to customize to our style. We have chosen a simple combination of 2 colors (exterior plum and interior yellow). IMGcomfort said NO to the seller. I have send a message to IMGcomfort seven day ago and so far there is no answer !! So be careful… Read more

with your purchases and a company that doesn't care about customers. I now advise against buying these armchairs sold by "le Géant du meuble" in France

Husband loves his chair, I hate mine – Purchased 2 chairs April 2021. I can only sit for short times in my chair as the seat is hard and kills my back, so I spend all my time in it adjusting my position. I like to knit, but sit too low in it, so my arms ache. Knob to lock the recline is also out of my reach. Also after a few minutes my feet start to go to sleep as the front of the seat presses on the back of my legs. Very disappointing as it was not cheap. Show details

Not good value – Purchased double recliner chair and console in NZ in 2014 then moved to Australia in February 2018. Chairs memory foam seats collapsed so after a bit of communication between NZ and Australia, the 10 year year warranty was accepted and met by Australia. Had the memory seats replaced however despite the new memory foam seats, the chairs are now… Read more

quite uncomfortable and are ready for the scrap heap. They were expensive and I would not recommend them to anyone. Since 2014 when they were purchased I have steadily suffered back problems and this has got worse since we have had the IMG chairs. They cannot be upholstered in Australia as the memory foam seats are particular to IMG

Needs more cushioning – Many good features, but seriously not enough cushioning. Can only be comfortable with added memory foam cushion, which then spoils design feature. Not good value for money, for this reason. Show details

Poor quality 'leather' – Poor quality, leather sure? Peeled, i have a moran lounged 10 years and the leather hasn't peeled like this piece of overpriced junk. So called leather peeling like blistered skin. I'd advise you to avoid img products. Also had to tighten bolts on arms.

IMG power recliner chair – In 2020 I purchase an IMG power recliner chair. Cost was over $3,000 and wait time for delivery was over 6 months. No problem. It duly arrived. After a number of months the electric tilter and footrest stopped working. Rang the company to get help under their guarantee. No problem. The service manager would ring me. So far nothing. It appears their guarantee is not worth anything. I recommend you don't buy one.  Show details

Structural problem – We bought the chair for our Disability son 4 years ago. Recently it started to squeak with every movement and I lightly spray oiled it at the swivel base which was where the noise was coming from. The noise stopped but he now doesn't want to sit on it because he fears that it will collapse as it rocks every which way. I de-constructed the join… Read more

between the chair actual and the base that the legs are fixed to and I believe that the base plate has fractured. No easy task that either. This after 4 years of use by one person. Back to the Judico shop at Mornington we're heading

Disappointed – We bought 2 Divani recliners (expensive) 2 1/2 years ago. I do find the seat slope is uncomfortable. The leather on the foot rest portion has discoloured and can’t remove stain with a good cleaner. Also the leather is showing wear on one of the arms where the stitching is. No satisfaction or suggestion from the supplier. Would not recommend.

Uncomfortable – Purchased 2 recliners 6 months ago. After a very short time husband could no longer sit in his recliner s it caused him back problems. Felt like a bar in his lower back. Spoke to Berkowitz where we purchased the chair and they were going to send someone to look at it. Because of Pandemic this couldn't happen which we understand. My chair has… Read more

caused me to have constant aching legs. I can no longer sit in it either. I believe the slope on the seat is too pronounced. ( too high at ate front). Really like the look of the chairs but cannot sit in them. We have just purchased two lazy boy recliners to replace them. Very disappointed. Judy

IMG is Absolute Rubbish - Non-Existent After Sales Service! – After visiting a couple of IMG retailers in Adelaide, and finding them quite comfortable and suitable, I purchased 2 IMG home theater lounges ($8,500). They were subsequently delivered (as modular units) and assembled by the retailer's staff in home. The first problem was the wiring for the electric recline had not been tied back at all, and… Read more

soon became trapped in the recliner mechanism, causing a short circuit. An inspection also revealed the lounge modules had not been properly connected to each other, with missing fasteners. The store's response to the problems was not very helpful, and because I have electrical trade qualifications I was able to repair the cable damage and replaced the missing fasteners.

From the beginning, the comfort of the seats was nothing like the store samples. The seats were very firm and uncomfortable, which the store explained was the leather which would soften over time, while I always felt it was the (lack of) padding. The (dis)comfort remained the same, and the store only paid lip service to my predicament.

I solved the comfort issue by giving the lounges away to someone who wanted to use them for a holiday let.

Poor design – The locking mechanism of the Nordic 21 is badly placed. The locking knob is too far forward. When in a reclined position, the sitter cannot reach it. To lock the chair's geometry he/she must lean forwards to reach the knob, which automatically returns the chair to a more upright angle. The locking knob should be conveniently reachable whether the… Read more

sitter is reclined or not. I find it incredible that the designers of this allegedly ergonomic range of furniture did not think of this.

Expensive, poor leather quality – Bought three IMG two-seater recliners in June 2017. Within a month the seat was stained on the chair most often sat in. IMG replaced the affected seat module, although problem recurred despite using leather cleaner & conditioner. Just recently noticed one headrest looked dirty - one wipe and the colour disappeared leaving the base leather. IMG has… Read more

reluctantly agreed to replace the headrest if we accept the staining to the seats (two now affected). Chairs are comfortable but leather is poor quality relative to other leather chairs we have owned. IMG does provide back-up, but does the minimum it can get away with. My advice : if you decide to buy this expensive brand you will be comfortable, but buy a dark leather or be prepared for well above average wearing.

Nordic 21 – bought 2 Nordic 21 chairs about 5 years ago, love them so much we bought 2 more recently for upstairs. Very ergonomic, had to sleep in one for 2 weeks after shoulder surgery. Fast forward 2 years and one of the new ones has leather peeling . Very disappointed! Looks like I'm not the only one ! Show details

Great product – Reviewing IMG motorized recliner. Purchased a year ago. The chairs are wonderful!!. Very well designed for relaxing, watching TV. Move to upright position for conversation. We have a set of two with a V shaped section between which has a storage unit and cup holders which can be hidden. very well designed. Functional. The motor is quiet. We… Read more

A Lemon! – I purchased an IMG recliner and less than 2 years it became discolored, faded and looked worn out on the entire seat area. Keep in mind my condo has no pets, no children and the chair is not in sunlight. I sit in it at night for a few hours. Instead of replacing my "Lemon" recliner, the company stated that they would split the cost of in -home… Read more

repair with me for a professional leather man. I agreed and it cost be lots of money. Recently the color came off the arms of the chair. IMG agreed to have that painted. The same leather repair person came to see it and could not believe his eyes.

So IMG does not stand behind their products. I believe something went wrong in the manufacturing and that is why i am stuck with a lemon. So l actually lived with the chair being discolored for longer than owning it. Many guests have seen it too and will never buy an IMG product.

"New" IMG Norway Chair Squeaks Constantly – So I paid $1,700 in March-April 2018 for a "brand new" IMG Norway chair from Designer Comfort La-Z-Boy in Belrose and it squeaks - badly and constantly. The spring system in the IMG chair is flawed. Left a message four weeks ago for the store manager to call me and still waiting for a call back. Wont be buying any more furniture from these amateurs and neither will two (and counting) other sets of friends.
