By far, the worst multi cooker I’ve used. We couldn’t do a casserole or soup as the cooker immediately burnt the bottom when it came to temperature. It would throw a “burn food” error and stop. We changed the insert twice, to an actual non stick variant, but it did the same thing. It went straight in the bin…. Show details

High quality, reliable, convenient – This is a good quality item. It has worked flawlessly for me, which is a relief after I returned other similar products to the store because of low quality and various faults. It's also very superior to my old trusty pressure cooker, because you can 'set-and-forget' the appliance and walk away to do something else. Show details

Loving this cooker a lot - great functionality and easy to clean – Have been a loyal stove-top-non-electric pressure cooker devotee until now (I had issues with the pressure toggle and started looking at these more versatile cookers). I mainly chose InstaPot above others for maintenance and longevity as it has a stainless steel inside component rather than non-stick, and in the hope that the sear function would… Read more

work well (it does). Intend to use for stocks/ broths, soups, stews, more vegge cooking, yoghurt making, curries, and rice.

First thing I made was a vegetable stock - the flavour intensity and liquid clarity was incredible. I put this down to much better temperature control ability than I could get with my stove top pressure cooker. That alone had me feeling very happy about my purchasing choice.

Next ham, corn, and lentil chowder (more christmas leftovers) - really good flavour, without mushing it all into one flavour. Adding lentils and some sweet potato made me happy to have read earlier advice about making sure there’s enough liquid base to not stick (taking into account thickening ingredients, and adding chowder thickener after releasing pressure).

Then sausage, tomato and bean soup with watercress. Success, as above.

Can’t wait to try yoghurt (with the better temp control), veggie dishes, curries, and chicken rice.

The cooker is dishwasher friendly, and easy to assemble and disassemble. It gets to pressure fast and keeps pressure well, and doesn’t disseminate too much smell during cooking. For most meals I choose the slow release option, whenever possible as it leads to better texture and flavours. It has been easy to familiarise with use and controls, and has a good mix between manual controls and default no-fuss settings. Very convenient to stand the lip up on it’s side in the slots.

I wasn’t sure about the bigger size, but now REALLY glad i got the 8L, for batch cooking, stocks, and feeding guests. I haven’t found it too big yet, using my regular recipes.

Only down-side to-date is finding somewhere in the kitchen near an electrical socket, that is also a safe place to let off the steam - only an issue for quick release, or if there are spatters when using saute function.

It’s a recent purchase, but hoping it continues to be so satisfying and easy to use.

Love it! – I have had this for a few years now. I use it nearly ever day. I use it for steaming vegetables and making soups, rice and stews. So easy to use, fairly easy to clean (except the channel where the lid fits, food can be difficult to get out of there). Show details

Best multi-cooker out there – The food it produces so amazing and the features help me cook they way I want too. The performance is very good and can cook very quick if you wanted too. Easy to lean also and store away.

A must-have cooking appliance in the kitchen! – The Instant Pot is easy to use, fast to cook! My husband & I were so impressed with the purchase. It cooks a lamb shank in about 45mins (pressure cook). It saves time & $ on power. Besides, it uses a stainless steel bowl which is more durable than the ceramic type. We gave our slow cooker to Saver :) as we don't need it anymore Show details

Easy to use – I love mine so much I’ve just ordered the 3l for smaller batches. Makes great sauces, stews, etc. quickly and with little mess. The s/steel bowl is great - smells don’t linger, it goes in the dishwasher, and there’s no non-stick surface to ruin. Some people have mentioned the “food burn” error. If you make sure to add water after seating and rub a wooden spatula over the bottom to remove stuck on food, you won’t get the message anymore.  Show details ·  1

My Instant Pot is like my new best friend – I have always been hesitant about purchasing a pressure cooker. Mostly this was due to hearing of some unpleasant experiences, involving a number of these types of cookers. Despite this I had always wanted an Instant Pot and decided to purchase one anyway. Wow and I am so glad that I did, not only can you cook a range of meals in the Instant Pot… Read more

and always find a recipe for almost anything, the food tastes really really good. The instant Pot settings are straight forward and easy to use, e.g press slow cook for slow cook, press pressure cook for pressure cook, or choose your own manual cooking function. Also the timer function is really great as once it has counted down if you forget to switch off or change settings, it actually starts counting up. Therefore you also know how long you have overcooked past your recommended cooking time. I really love that there is a sauté function on the Instant Pot, this helps to reduce clean up as you can do all in the one pot. Lastly, I was surprised that I found the Instant Pot very easy to clean, any food/sauce etc pretty much just wipes off the inner pot insert and it did not seem to retain smells or flavours after utilising. However, in the case of this it is advised that you switch out the sealing rubber which can be purchased online.

Amazing, most used appliance in our home – This is the best cooking machine we have ever purchased. Slow cooks casserole perfectly, soup is done to perfection in 15 mins on high pressure, we also do the chicken stock just prior. Does rice pudding on the porridge function on low setting wonderfully. We use this machine at least once a week if not more since buying at Costco in April. … Read more

Just wish they had the 8L available which we found out online you could buy but never mind it is a really great choice. Takes the hard work out of cooking casserole on the stove for 2 hours with carrots still firm, this machine cooks everything lovely. We have done so many casseroles, curries, soups etc in 2 months than we would have in any given winter. Really a great buy, easy to clean, doesn't take up much room, fits in our pot drawer. Easy to use.

Single best appliance in the 40yrs of cooking!!! – Makes quick and favour filled meals. Soups, stews, oats (steel cut and rolled), pasta, vegetables in way less time than usual. Great for bread proving and yogurt. Have stopped using almost all my pots. Does take a little time to get use to cooking this way (probably why people get the burn msg) but there are plenty of you tube videos out there. … Read more

Rice is the only thing that I still cook with a normal pot. We find we make double the amount of food, but works well also for 1 serving for 2ppl.

Disappointed. Horrible customer service – I bought this several months ago and at the time i declined to purchase the extended warranty from walmart because it comes with a manufacturer warranty for the first year. Anyway, now the instant pot stopped working and has a C6 error which means a faulty pressure sensor. I contacted instant pot customer service and lady immediately declined to… Read more

repair because it’s not the manufacture’s defect and she accused i somehow caused the issue. We emailed forth and back several times requesting her is she could connect me to her supervisor or manager and she declined to respond to my request. I liked the instant pot and the experience i had with this representative disappointed me and i wouldn’t consoder buying again. I wouldn’t reccomend to anyone and if anyone gets...i hope they won’t run in to any issue because instant pot customer service sucks!

Food burn every time – Very disappointed with our Instant Pot. I did so much research & decided to spend the extra money as reviews were so great. Every single meal comes up with 'food burn' error after about 30 minutes & it doesn't come to pressure, which means it has to be stopped, stirred & started again. Emails back & forwards with customer service, sometimes they… Read more

The jury is out – I just got mine and used it for the first time this evening, making a jambalaya. The result was good, although I honestly can't say that it was any quicker, overall, than if I'd done it stovetop, and it was certainly a lot more complicated. But, like any cooking technique, it just means getting used to a new approach. I can't help but get the… Read more

feeling, though, that this is really just a pressure cooker that's designed for people who aren't used to pressure cooking. And as someone who has long considered a pressure cooker (old-fashioned, stove-top in my case) as an essentially part of the kitchen arsenal, I'm not sure that the Instant Pot is "better" than the old style Pressure cookers.

It's good that it does slow cooking too, I guess, but that's not generally my style unless we're talking sous vide.

One of the things that interested me about it was that it was claimed to be a rice cooker too, so that potentially meant one less appliance in the pantry. The Jambalaya rice turned out pretty well, but the real test will be things like basmati and jasmine rices cooked alone. It's been a long time since I pressure-cooked rice, but I seem to recall getting pretty good results. I'm cautiously optimist that the Instant Pot will please in this respect. But will it be any better than my old rice cooked? Remains to be seen.

The manual that came with it was incredibly lacking in detail or advice. No basic recipes. It's all very well to say that there is plenty of stuff online, but the whole point of the device is supposed to be efficiency, and how efficient is it if someone needs to google "water to rice ration for Instant Pot" rather than just having it handy in a booklet in a kitchen drawer?

So, so far I am not all that impressed. On the positive side, though, it's not all that expensive.. probably a similar cost to a good quality German stove-top pressure cooker (and probably somewhat safer in the hands of the inexperienced). I might grow to love it over time, or it might end up going down the path of so many other appliances that I realise I really didn't need inthe first place. Time will tell. :-)

Great multi cooker – This is a great multi cooker. It sautees, pressure cooks, slow cooks, makes Yogurt, etc. The documentation is scant but there are online websites to look up recipes. The stainless steel bowl is easy to clean. The only real downside is the cooking smells get trapped in the seal and it needs to be washed in the dishwasher or steam cleaned. This has… Read more

Love it even more than I was expecting – Bought it from Amazon UK. It took ages for them to actually send it (close to a month) during which time I debated whether I really needed it. settings and different ways to cook things. Everything I've cooked in it so far has come out perfect. I haven't used the official recipe book but am getting recipes from users online. I would 100% recommend it.

Edited to add: it seems that after July 1 we Australians can no longer get items sent from amazon UK. There doesn’t seem any way to get instant pots delivered here now, unless you know someone over there who can buy one and send it. This really sucks.

Fantastic – The Instant Pot Duo does everything they say it does and the stainless steel big bowl is a real bonus to clean in dishwasher. I love this cooker, food comes out perfectly, the slow cooker function actually works as do all the other features. I cooked a two and a half kg Teriyaki Pork the other night, came out tender and succulent in only 25 minutes. I have had this pot for about 3 years and I cannot fault it.  Show details

Great addition to my kitchen – I bought the Instant Pot from Amazon UK too as they are not available in Aust. stock in just 4hrs. Cooks rice well and we have enjoyed roasts, curries, shanks and soups from it too. Porridge takes a while but is definitely nicer than other methods. For someone who had not used a pressure cooker it took a bit of getting used to with liquid ratios and timings but there are heaps of online recipes and blogs with helpful advice. The machine itself is really easy to use once you have read the manual. The Saute function is great for browning meat or reducing sauces, and the stainless steel pot is easy to clean so I am inclined to use it more. I am so happy I chose the Instant Pot and definitely recommend it.

Awesome cooker! – This is a kitchen essential. I've used it every day since buying it. It makes everything from stews, pasta, vegetables to a cup of chia tea, all in a flash.
