Enhanced Swiss Made Quality At Its Best – The 'New Edition' air purifier does just that, albeit more efficiently, economically & quietly without fuss. As someone with a very sensitive nose & respiratory system to any airborne particulates & who lives in a cold climate rural town where the majority of households seem to operate & adore their cheap to run wood-fired heaters for half the… Read more

year, the smell of smoke is heavy in the still outside air & hits you in the face upon opening any doors or windows.

The problem with trying to seal your home to it is also flawed as CO2 levels rise inside from natural respiration causing their own unique issues such as poor sleep from restlessness, dizziness & headaches.

Bring on the air purifier!

My IQAir HealthPro 250 NE was selected early 04/2019 over the comparable Blueair 680i predominantly for the longer indicative lifespan for all 3 filters (& selectable environmental usage scenarios), a supplemental coarse pre-filtration kit to enhance the main filter's longevity (& also better isolate & vacuum away hair from 2 cats), quieter operation per volume of air exchanged, larger rated 100sq/m operating area capacity, continuous 24/7 rated fan motor, 6 fan speeds, & perceived simplicity in the unit's design overall.

Whilst I did consider IQAir's 'Perfect 16 2530' 'Merv16' rated whole house ducted HVAC add-on filter system for the zero run cost advantages, be it used in heating, cooling or fan only mode, I found it more beneficial to have an air purifier run independently, such as in my 20sq/m (50cu/m) bedroom overnight (predominant use) where I have isolated the HVAC outlet over winter (as I prefer it cooler) whilst operating on speed 2 with the window slightly ajar to allow for CO2 dilution whilst purifying the smokey outside air.

I supplemented my purchase with an IQAir AirVisual Pro air monitor to better obtain the best mix of particulate free air to CO2 dilution in a predominantly isolated bedroom overnight.

Mission accomplished, & I'm very happy with my purchases from AirCleanersAus.com.au

The unit was swiftly delivered from interstate Victoria, plastic wrapped in a very sturdy double sleeved & strapped carton (with the supplemental pre-filter assembly kindly attached to the base as notified).

All I had to do upon unpacking was attach the 2 base rails & insert the 4 casters, along with the detachable IEC standard 2.4m power cord.

I opened up the unit's compartments & quickly verified that all 3 filters were inserted & ready to go.

The unit runs rather economically between 20 to 135 Watts over 6 fan speeds with <1W on standby.

I plugged it into a wall outlet & flipped on the switch to be greeted with a dim red standby power button light & a functioning LCD indicator panel in my chosen English atop the unit.

Upon inserting the supplied CR2025 button cell battery into the IR remote I initially switched on the unit to test all 6 speeds with success & so too illuminating the 3 green filter LED's & 'alternating' sectional fan speed monitor on the positional scale diagram adjacent to the non-illuminated LCD panel & 4 shallow push buttons.

Thereafter on the LCD indicator panel I also changed the 3 'Filter Load Indexes' to 'Very Low' from the default 'Average' to better reflect my actual usage environment as likely augmented with the coarse pre-filter attachment & regularly vacuumed house.

I also filled out & registered the enclosed 5 year warranty card by emailing back to my online place of purchase.

The initial very mild 'new car' smell fully dissipated after a few days of operation & I've accustomed to operating the unit predominantly on fan speed 2 (at 36W) in my bedroom overnight, with occasional higher speeds elsewhere in the closed house upon warming up for the evening.

The fan & motor are centrally positioned within the unit's tower, pulling air in from below via the caster wheel raised base, coarse & fine PreMax filters, & up through the odor MultiGas & HyperHEPA filters & subsequently out the top 320 degree horizontal air diffuser.

I have already perceived slightly less 'strain' to my breathing, less nasal congestion & better quality of sleep.

I envisage a healthier winter with diminished airborne virus & bacteria loads, as well as also looking forward to a reduced sneeze, dust & allergen spring & summer periods.

Whilst the overall purchase, running & filter replacement costs are likely considered moderate to high, I find it priceless compared to healthier lungs & a less stressed immune system.
