Was great, now the 'start' button not working - update can advise refurbished machine supplied by iRobot – Purchased August 2021 from Big W for $399. 12 month warranty. Now at 3 months outside the warranty, the 'start' button won't work. I have tried various reset options, watched videos on YouTube, given it a really good clean and charge. The 'dock' and 'spot' buttons work, but that won't clean the house. $399 is a hell of a lot of money for a… Read more · 2
product to lose its main function in 15 months... Before that, it cleaned well. Jan 2023 update - I have been contacted by iRobot, and am sending the machine off for servicing. It is outside warranty, so it is costing $127.00 inc GST plus parts (plus the drama of no autovac for days/weeks). I will provide another update soon. Feb 2023 update - the iRobot team could not fix the fault so sent me a refurbished unit which works great. Very happy with the replacement autovac. There was no charge and I have changed my review from 2/5 to 4/5.
Sit back and relax! – Our house is fully tiled with a couple of rugs and our iRobot does a fantastic job making sure our house is spotless! I love the diversity of this beauty. Out for the day? Start vacuuming via the iRobot app on your phone. Want a scheduled time to vacuum? No worries, this can be arranged on your phone. The house needs a quick vacuum? Just press the… Read more
button on the vacuum. Kids asleep and the vacuum gets too close to their room? Pause it via your phone!
Meh.. Good for small apartments and people who are time-poor? – Got it for $399 at Big W back in April. I got it on a whim while shopping with my wife. It's tech (randomly bumping around) is old consider there are others (ie XiaoMi) that have wifi, app control, mapping, and other features for a similar or slightly higher price. After having it for 2 months, here's my honest review: I have a large, open, hard… Read more
floor area (wide entrance hallway connects with living, kitchen, dining and activity area). We turn it on when everyone leaves for work and school (1-2 times a week). It does it job, vacuum the area by bumping around at random direction. It's able to go up the rug. By the time we get home, the area seems mostly clear of dust. Visible dust can still be spotted at corners or areas it can't reach. I'd say it manage to vacuum 80-90% of the entire open area.
Is it worth $399? To my wife, yes in the beginning cause she doesn't have to do the work, but later disappointed that it does not have an app that maps out where it vacuum. To me, not really. Get a dyson V7 (i use it for the office) for same/similar price and manually vacuum. It's a lot more efficient and effective. It takes this model 40-50 mins to cover most of the area which takes 10 mins or less to manually vacuum. At the end of the day, we going to keep using it. However, If I did more research, I would've saved the money for a more advance one or something else.
Nonetheless, easy to use and maintain, does its job, well built (external feels more sturdy than my friend's Xiaomi), and available at most department stores.
Inferior to previous roomba models – When my previous roomba finally died after 6 years (model 630) I bought the 606 model as a replacement and it is a vastly inferior product. After 15 months the side arm has come off and defies all attempts to reattach it. This never happened with the old 630. The new one is also having trouble recharging too and there is no socket to plug it… Read more
directly into the charger as you could with the 630. There is no carry handle, it takes ages to recharge and doesn't clean the floor even half as well as the 630 did. When the time comes to replace the 606 I will be exploring different brands as there are so many to chose from now, I will not be getting an irobot roomba again.
brillian little helper – I brought this to help as i work full time, i have 3 teenage boys and a hypo hubby, as well as cats. this is awesome i turn it on in the morning as i leave and i come home to clean floors... simple. If i could do it again id purchase the one i can control with mobile so i don't have to manually set it, but that is the only complaint. She has gotten stuck 1 or 2 times and yells out for help, but other than that its friggin awesome. Show details
Young helper's robovac – This vac works perfectly on short carpets and hard floors. I have a dodgy back and it helps me avoid pain. Sir Reginald Von Bartlesby, as it has been Christened by its young owner, needs only be charged and set loose onto work. One button and its off. Works best when supervised so that its not too long upset by lost strings and socks. It… Read more
makes a noise and stops and you just empty the vac tray or unwind the sock and set it going again.
I love that it is so so much quieter than a regular vacuum (which I can't stand).
Easy to use and well worth the money if you can get one.
