Less than one year old and it just stopped working. All it does is sit there and complain that it needs to be charged. Checked terminals. Checked power. Checked connection. Checked everything. My gut feel is that the batteries iRobot use are poor quality and just stop holding a charge after a while. Really not impressed for the money I paid for the unit. iRobot are the GoPro of the vacuum world. Over priced and under delivers.
Roomba is Rubbish – I bought a Roomba 981. It says in advertising that it will pick up animal hair. This is an out-and-out lie! I have a dog and it leaves the hair. Indeed, if a speck of any kind is larger than 1mm you have to pick it up yourself after the Roomba has been over it twice, set on high. This is the real truth. It will not pick up any polystyrene bubbles at all - absolutely none. Yes, the Roomba is working and the bin gets full of extremely tiny stuff. I would could it dust with a bit of fluff, nothing larger than that.
Only a full-size vacuum cleaner will pick up all of the dog hair.
Ask yourself this question. Can a vacuum cleaner run for 1½ hours and have usable suction? It can't! I also have a battery Dyson. It will only run for 10 minutes before needing a recharge, from new. Dyson lies in its advertising as well. Governments should legislate to stop the crap.
Buy a quality full-size vacuum cleaner and employ a maid if you have to.
Don't buy Roomba rubbish!
It is worth 1$, using it as a doorstop.
