Itakico

"I taki your money" POS. Beta or schwag remarketed as novel concept. If you can't remove the liner to clean then at this price the unit should be submersible. The control dial has a SLIPPERY SURFACE for looks. The steel is thinnest grade possible. It has a tip shut off but tripod tippy legs. The cord isn't even three feet long and thin gauge. It came with metal utensils that scratch the cooking surface. This is a customer=research and development team business model company. Stay FAR away. I'm in US. Not far enough haha.
ETA: Cooking with it is a fight. Like others said the element is uneven and burns in spots. Worse, low heat is high and high is DANGEROUS. Burns will result from trying to prevent sticking. Back in the day this thing probably couldn't be sold for safety failure, ironically why the tip shut off and water sensor is built in. After I replace it with something better, maybe I should have the steel tested for radiation.
I saw the posts on Facebook, endorsements by quite a number of individuals all within Facebook, and ordered the shabuki pot and jumbo bento from Itakico. On 2 Feb, I received a notification that my purchases were delivered to mailroom. They were nowhere to be found. I contacted Itakico immediately. No reply. I threatened to cancel payment on 4 Feb. On 5 Feb, I received a brief apology, a threat to sue me for abusing the system and a link to photos showing where my parcel had been delivered. It was clearly the wrong address. I pointed this out to Itakico. No reply. On 9 Feb, I went to the building where my purchases had been incorrectly delivered. Lovely persons in charge of the building helped me check the parcel locker and mailroom and the parcels were gone. I informed Itakico about this. No reply up to the present time. It's been two weeks and they haven't bothered to take action. You are better off buying similar products from Amazon. At least, you are guaranteed to receive them.
Follow-up · The company has honoured the payment, which I chose not to cancel, and sent the items I had purchased. It has just arrived. The purchase was intended as a gift for family I was visiting, so I appreciate that they did follow up on this matter! Better delivery service and better communication would have resolved the matter earlier. Thank you!
Their wireless lunchbox works pretty well. It's on the smaller side but enough for one meal. Impressed so far!
This service appears to be 100% a scam. They sent me the wrong products twice, and all the stuff they've sent is flimsy / very poor quality, the wrong colours and don't work properly. Customer service is by email, but is generic and doesn't help you. They sent me replacements but the replacements were the wrong items / colour too! Honestly, really sooooo disappointed with these products and I wanted to love them. The cooking / heat inside the items is also uneven, the bottom of the pans consistently burn badly when you cook in them despite having enough water in the bottom to cook. Overall, would not recommend and 100% would not buy again... Avoid like the plague! Don't waste your money. I wish I hadn't.
Itaki Lunchbox seems cheap and broke twice. Shabuki pot burns. JUMBO is good though! – I really really wanted to love these lunchboxes. They look so cute and having healthy fresh cooked food each day looked easy and fun! Initially I purchased two types - as I wasn't sure from the website exactly what the differences were and I was too excited! Then I also purchased the Shabuki pot because that looked amazing in their videos too! I firstly received the ChefBox Smart Bento Pro 2.0 (in pink) and the Itaki JUMBO which comes standard in black. The instructions included are not very good and didn't explain how much water to put in the unit. I worked it out myself and from YouTube videos and I tried the Itaki JUMBO first. The food turned out quite nice. I put meat with vegetables and a sauce with fresh herbs and garlic in the bottom tray and rice in the upper tray. There is a middle plastic unit for eggs I believe, but I won't use that.
The Smart Bento refused to work. It didn't get hot at all even with the required amount of water. To their credit, Itaki sent me another which worked as intended BUT the front panel keeps coming off. I don't think their quality control is very good.
Unfortunately, the Shabuki pot is not a good buy either, the element is in one area and burns whatever is being cooked. I contacted Itakico about this, but they failed to respond. I'm afraid the Bento and Shabuki are a waste of money. The Itaki JUMBO seems to serve its purpose and looks like it may be one of their initial products. So I give it two generous stars because the JUMBO seems to work as advertised.
