Ivan's Pies

Sometime good and sometimes bad. The issue is the inconsistent quality and lack of quality control. One day the pie has chunky beef and relatively low fat, and another day, shredded beef and full of fat. Not acceptable for a premium (priced) product. You need to do much better to get my return business. Show details
Follow-up · We only purchase the family sized chunky angus beef pies, so I can't comment on the chicken or other pies. The pastry is generally pretty good, the issue is with the filling where quality varies signifiantly - sometime chunky and sometimes more like mince, sometime relatively lean and other times really fatty. Flavour and texture vary… Read more
Lovely pies and service. I highly recommend their sausage rolls. Getting breakfast there for three days now :)
First sizeable order was great - delicious chunky pipes with thick gravy. Second larger order not-so-much. Basically thin watery gravy with hardly any meat in every single pie / every variety ordered. Won't risk a third order. Show details
I purchased my first ever Ivan's "Aussie Beef Gourmet Pie" recently from our local Coles Supermarket. It had a Use By date of 21/11/25. I heated it up today in the air frier for lunch. together with 2 Balfours Angas Beef pies also purchased at Coles. I am very sad to report the following about my Ivan's pie. It was at least the second worst… Read more
tasting pie that I have ever eaten. In my view, including those of my tastebuds were that the contents were an almost tasteless grey/brown mush. At least 75% of it ended up in the garbage bin. I shall never ever purchase an Ivan's pie. I would not be surprised if those who were present, and ate all of their Balbour's pie, would inform our circle of friends about the appearance and taste of the Ivan's "Aussie Beef Gourmet Pie."
Just recieved my Ivan's Pies online order. WOW! The packaging alone was outstanding. Foil thermal bag and icepacks, for the frozen goods. We live in the country and the delivery was exeptional. Now, after writing my scathing but honest, Four'n Twenty review, l am so pleased, to tell you all, we are now in, pie heaven, thanks to Ivan's Pies.… Read more
The curry pies... delish...the classic beef...delish...the beef and red wine...delish! My gosh, these pies are packed to the very brim, to the BRIM! The pies held together, flavour balance was perfect. No indigestion! We cannot wait to, try the other flavours. Quiches, apple pies what more could you want? They looked like pies, smelt like pies and were the best pies, we have eaten in years! The pasties are also delish but l feel needed, some carrot and potato, just like the old days. So glad l found them...l will most definitely, be a returning customer...well done Ivan's Pies.
I’ve been buying their pies for years, but I don’t think I’ll be buying them anymore. The filling seems to be just a puréed bland mixture that doesn’t really have any texture. Fairly tasteless.
I bought a 2 pack Ivan's chunky beef pies from Aldi Green Point NSW 2251 on 1-6-25 and today 2-6-25 had the second pie. BOTH VERY NICE. Plenty of lean chunks of beef and pleasant gravy encased in a light crispy pastry. Nothing like the different brand of so called "chicken" pies I bought a month ago from Coles Green Point that I reviewed here. I… Read more
just hope Ivan's pies will be available ongoing from Aldi. I paid $7:99. Ivan's Pies, Braeside, Victoria 3195. ( ivan's pies.com.au. )
Purchased two 'Chunky Beef Pies of Premium Australian Beef in rich homestyle gravy' at Aldi on a cold wet day. Scurried home, time for lunch, followed heating directions, sat down to enjoy. I really should have known better, sadly all pies in supermarkets seem to attain the lofty heights of mediocrity! The pastry was way too thick and although the… Read more
gravy was pleasant enough what happened to the 'chunks' of 'Premium Beef' advertised? Well, there were two chunks hiding in the gravy, about 25mm square and one of which was pure inedible gristle. If there's one thing I detest it's gristle in a pie! So, I have learnt my lesson and will forever more steer clear of supermarket pies. P.S I couldn't face another disaster so the remaining pie was dispatched to the bin.
I love Ivan’s Pies! We are blessed with two wonderful varieties. First was spinach pie: delicious except I have to be picking out the fresh or dried tomatoes And the second: chicken and leek pie and pick out the chewy bits. The only reason I do this picking the food out is I have dentures to look forward to The pies are in the deli section near… Read more
the cheese you can’t see it unless hanging out for quiche. These pies are one person’s joy. But in the microwave information it doesn’t have so I guess it to (1 minute and 40 seconds on high) in $360 microwave with a cookbook. Some supermarkets could Put these in the sandwich isle or corner shop who would have a microwave and heat it for you
