Worst heater ever baffle plate falls down constantly and wont burn over night fan doesnt do much – These are actually facts not worth spending your money on Show details
Disappointed – Small opening, baffle fell out after a couple of burns, guy at Jarrahdale said slip it back in after he spoke to someone else. Does not just slip in. Also fan just makes a noise thats it. Not impressed from a leader in the market. First and last time. Show details
Best Wood Heaters On the Market and Locally made – I have grown up with wood heaters in our family home and Jarrahdale would have to be the best out there. Now I have owned a few of my own homes Jarrahdale is the way to go. Bonus is they are made here is WA. Other heaters just don't heat the area they are meant to but Jarrahdale do the job perfectly. The fire box is big enough to put Large logs in so they go all night and just reload in the morning no re lighting every day. They look great too. Show details
Takes a while to warm up – Dont really have any basis for comparison because its first house i have been in with a wood heater but happy so far . We have roughly 280m2 of living area , when we close the rooms up we dont want heated i would say its about 220m2 of living area , takes awhile to get up to temp but when it does its very pleasant . Took me awhile to work out… Read more
how to get burn rate correct so wasnt out when we woke up
Only thing i dont like about it is the fan when on high speed as its pretty noisy , the opening isnt overly large but i chop logs to suit and just use poker to move them to back .
No idea how old unit is , house was built in 2006
WORST wood heater ever! – This is the fourth wood heater we have had, and by far, without a doubt, the worst. I give it 1 star because there isn't any lower! This particular model is wide and low, but not wide enough for decent size logs, and so low inside that there is no room at all to build up a pile of logs inside to burn properly (so there is air under the big logs… Read more
to keep the fire going). Once you have one log inside you cannot add any on top unless only coals remain and can be flattened around.
The lack of height makes it dangerous to try to fit logs once hot, as there is no room to maneuver without touching the hot ceiling, same with the low size of the door.
The front handle to open/close the air is very pretty, but so badly designed that soon it started rolling around its pin and it cannot be fixed.
The WORST design flaw is the metal of the entire heater. From the moment the flames start it makes constant metal heating noises, like when something expands or contracts. This could be acceptable if it happened only during heating, but it NEVER STOPS! All the time that there is flame alight the noises are constant, so much so that we need to turn the TV up. If the fire dies down they stop for a while, but as soon as we add wood to revive the fire the noise starts again, constant, all the time. I have even been asked what that noise was while being on the phone, by the person on the call!
As it cost a lot of money to buy and to install, I cannot wait until I move house to have a new wood heater.
Excellent – We previously had the Jarrahdale Wood burner in another house and we wanted the wood look but without the hassle of getting firewood and the constant dust issues. We have had our Jarrahdale Gas Log Innovator for 9 winters now and it hasn't missed a trick. Instant heat at a flick of a switch. This heats our large house every cold winter night.
