Would not recommend – Worked great at first then started turning off by itself so we would get into a cold bed. One side then started flashing P and bed would get cold. Will never buy this brand again. Show details
Was great until it just stopped working – This Sherpa lined EB was brilliant as you couldn’t feel the wires like many Electric Blankets. However, we paid a couple hundred dollars for this expecting many years of use but it has stopped working on one side. The error on the controller says there is a problem with the heating element and is not repairable. It is also MADE in CHINA not Australia as Jason state on their website. Show details
It started to burn! – Only purchased just over a year ago and the past few months it's been going off and not heating properly. Most nights it flashed p and tonight when i attempted to unplug from the material plug when i turned it back on and the p had stopped i thought great... Only seconds later there was yellow sparks in the connection part and it stated to smell… Read more
like burning! It burnt a hole in itself and left a tiny burn mark in my matress!!! How scary that something these days, reasonably new can catch fire!! Will never purchase this brands electric blankets again, my last one from Aldi lasted 5 years and had a much better timer option.
not as long as expected – Died for no reason at all. Kept on spare bed, so hardly used. Control flashes an 8 for a split second. Manual said it could be a blown internal fuse. Show details
Reasonable value – Purchased this in KS to replace a no longer functioning Sunbeam electric blanket. Had previously had a Jason Sherpa in QS which was why we chose this. However this one is not as good in that it is not really warm enough. We turn it on to preheat the bed and it does take the chill off but is far from toasty warm. Show details
Short life – Bought Jason electric blanket queen size last year around May 2018 . Used on the top of quilt as per friends advise to have a good use of it, after few days got bored of packing and unpacking and put it away . Yesterday took it out thinking I will use it properly this year but sadly the blanket is dead both power points don’t heat up ...Is this… Read more
normal since I haven’t kept the receipt to take it back and I am assuming the warranty should be a year anyway .
They need recall & retest all blankets for safety reasons before some is electrocuted – QS electric blanket had static electricity going through both mine n hubby body stopped when turned of at power on wall v/ dangerous i have heart disease I could feel my heart racing this was our first night of sleeping on the new blanket lucky we both didn't die.
Very happy customer – We purchased a queen size electric blanket for our very cold holiday van. Couldn't be happier. We then purchased a king size for home. Very pleased with the timer/cut off.
Faulty turn on switch – Had to return this to Spotlight as it did'nt heat up.Control stuck on P flashing and heating setting didn't work.I asked for a refund after reading other negative reviews on this product. When I mentioned the review ratings the service manager said they weren't true and not to believe them.As if you would take the time to write a false review ?? Typical service from Spotlight ! Hasn't got a good reputation for customer service.
Scary and Dangerous – Elastic skirt is too stretchy so blanket keeps moving around making lumps. Cords on remotes too long so remotes are too far to reach while lying in bed. Remotes tricky to use - have to cycle through all settings to get the one you want. Have to press and hold "on" button just to switch bed on. Distinct "buzzing" sensation even when controller says… Read more
blanket is switched off.
Bought this blanket on special at Spotlight in June. One or both controllers keep switching off, displaying "P" on the LED. Trouble-shoot guide says "controller has overheated". Too right - couldn't touch it. Unplugged blanket and left it unplugged 24 hours. Last night, switched on and set to "4". Went to bed. Bed is so hot I can't sit on it. Switched off at controller. Bed still burning up. Pulled out plug from wall. Doona, sheets all smell like they've been on fire. That was way too scary for me. Returning it for full refund. This blanket better not have ruined my very expensive latex mattress.
Comfy and cosy – After my previous electric blanket finally gave up, I bought this on sale at spotlight. Love it (who knew you didn't have to feel every element on a blanket when you lie down!). The settings are a little unusual - the auto warm up isn't quite clear unless you read the instructions, but you can work around it. My previous blanket had a 30 minute… Read more
timer and 12 hour timer - this one only has 10 hour duration, and my only criticism is that the short option was perfect to have on while falling asleep, knowing it would shut off.
