Living the car but those breaks are horrible – This car is almost perfect but then there's that high pitched squeal everyone the breaks are applied. I have the SRT and believe its just the performance breaks but how embarrassing and unless I keep the windows up and music up I'll have a head ache after driving around. Welsh they would fix it in the service or something. Show details
I bought a Jeep - What a Heap – I bought a Jeep and it was the biggest most expensive mistake ever. The Franchisee Sold the business to Keema, Service records conveniently went missing, I have now done 166 K on mine and it just munched a cam shaft. I noticed when doing intermediate oil changes that the service mechanics don't know how to tighten up the oil filter, 3 times… Read more
they were finger tight and leaking, but you don't notice as your expect the filter to be tight.
Mine developed a shudder in the transfer case, the senior service technician said it was the tail shaft, then said it was the actual transfer case and I was quoted $4000 + to have it replaced.
The shudder was reported to Jeep Service at 60,000K's and it stayed there as they could never find the shudder and clunk at low speed.
FCA said they would not cover the repairs as the previous business owners staff failed to enter the notes so FCA had no detail on the issue, I took it to another mechanic at about 150,000 and he found that the service mechanics never ever changed the oil in the Transfer case and it wast burnt and stopping the viscus system working. The Clunk went that same day and all the drive train smoothed out.
I am a broken man after the exhaustive process of dealing with this car and the avoidance of FCA.
I once praised this car as it had not shown its true issues at the start, Never, Never again will I buy a jeep, and I don't think anybody would be silly enough to buy this one off me so I am stuck with it like a planters wart under my right foot.
Jeep make good TV Commercials though, I will give them that much, but I am going to make a better one when I make a professional 10 minute video for you tube of me burning mine to the ground in a controlled environment (unlike Jeeps service department) for everyone to see its true worth.
upgraded SRT2015 to Trackhawk 707hp 2018 – upgraded from 2015 SRT to the Trackhawk. very surprised with noticeable power gain. ride was smoother and less tracking than the SRT, put your right foot down and the exhaust lets you know that you have something special. Fuel consumption is better in the Trackhawk averaging 16-18 L/100 put your foot down and forget these figures. Brake dust is… Read more · 3
still an issue but who cares when you need stopping power, the Brembo's do a good job. we went with red interior (first change from black) it does grow on you and we welcomed the change. Ride height is slightly lower than the SRT so getting in is a bit easier for short people. We have used Brighton Jeep for the first service, If you care about you paint then i would suggest not letting them wash the car, just in case they have any contaminates in their sponges! (not that we have ever had a problem) overall very happy with the service and costs. 10000k down the track and no issues at all with the Trackhawk . would i buy another one ??? yes without fail :)
2014 Jeep SRT – Great car so far, some class leading innovations and blistering performance. Sound system is awesome and the car puts a smile on my face every drive. Performance wise no SUV comes close for the price. It is a Jekyll and Hyde car that can be very smooth and easy to drive but can also go, turn and stop like a supercar. Awesome car..
I recently needed a new 4x4 to tow a Jayco van. I came very close to buying a Pajero sport and considered a Fortuner but really they both felt fairly gutless and had some down sides. I then took a V6 Turbo diesel Jeep for a drive and knew straight away it was much more of a car than the other two. I have had three Jeeps in the past with zero warranty issues so I wasn't too concerned about the negative comments some people say about Jeep that HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY OWNED ONE :) So now I have taken delivery and I can say this is the smoothest quietest car I have owned and the diesel is absolutely incredible as well as the 8 speed box (very well mated) . It feels and drives like a grunty V6 petrol with very little to no diesel noise, most people wouldn't pick it, And with Jeep now offering 5 years warranty, Capped price servicing for 5 years (1 a year is all thats needed) You simply would be hard pressed to buy a better package. This car is a much nicer drive than a previous VX 200 Series Landcruiser I owned so a big compliment . If you're in doubt about the new Jeeps just don't be, its a VERY well made, designed and driving car 10/10. Wolf in sheeps clothing, practical performance car, high tech dash and feature packed, very smooth quiet ride, performance handling and braking are outstanding Most fit and Finish is great some small trim pieces could be better but I've made better myself.
Good marketing does nt mean good service from Jeep ! – Purchased a Jeep SRT MY14 in Aug 2013 from Knox Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Burwood. Now you would think when you purchased a car valued over $87,000.00 you would get some reasonable service. Wrong. !!! The sales guys did their best but the dealership has no idea. Prior to picking up the car after 3-5 weeks of waiting and being careful I sent an… Read more
email to all concerned at Knox Jeep that I would be inspecting the car with fine tooth comb prior to sorting out the paperwork and making the final payment. I was told I could nt pick up the car on a Saturday as they were having a sale and their sales staff would be to busy . I advise them that if they wanted me to complete the deal they would have to sort it out at time that suited me. If you sold the car to me on a Saturday then it was good enough to complete the deal ( hand over) on a Saturday. The warning signs were starting to go up at this point . A number of phone calls later they agreed that I could pick up the car on a Saturday. So after managing to get a friend to drive me the 50 to 60 kms to get to the dealership I was was told the finance manager would look after me. What does the finance manager know about the Jeep STR MY14 ? As it turns out little. he leads me into his office. I had to insist that I would be inspecting the car before sorting out the paper work and payment. On close inspection the car was nt ready to hand over. Chips on the body work , body work was nt cleaned properly and had nt been buffed up.The internal wheel rims had nt been cleaned . Internal windows also had nt been cleaned. Engine bay still had packaging leftover and had nt been cleaned. It wasnt showroom condition at all. anyway after a long complaints letter and phone calls to the manager a 2nd time was organised to pick up the car. The 2nd time I spent a lot of time inspecting the car. They still did nt get it right. Long story short... If you expect the sort of service you would get at BMW or Merc dealership then dint buy a Jeep as they have no idea.... At Jeep they just havent worked out that if you want clients to come back to Jeep for the next car you need to provided a pleasant buying experience. Their marketing does nt match their product or service. For the dealership its just sell sell sell. Dont expect after sales service.
The 1000 kms free service took 2.1/2 hrs. I was told it would take a 1 hr... The saga goes on.. hard to say after such a bad buying experience. Heavy on fuel, very bad service at Knox Burwood. Little quality control at dealership. Pick the right dealer!! if you can.
2013 SRT8 – Wonderfully finished vehicle, well appointed and power unmatched in any 4WD or just about any car less than $100k in Australia. Closest match I could find was a Porsche Cayenne Turbo @ $200k, so the SRT @ $80k was a bargain. More power than HSV or FPV can offer at a compatible price, but more features than any Aussie built car. Everything! 6.4lt 377kw and only 13.5lt to 100km! Show details
