After dealing with two different companies for quotes (one who never got back to me after multiple calls, emails & texts, and one who's quote seemed quite high), I contacted Jim's. Thom from Happy Valley called me, and said he would come out to quote. He arrived when he said he would, sent me a written quote when he said he would, and completed a more than satisfactory job. My fence looks great, was reasonably priced, and Thom was really easy to deal with. He's very personable and professional.

Harley was amazing, very professional and takes pride in his work. Highly recommend him to all. Our fences were well overdue for an upgrade and Harley came highly recommend. I’m so happy we decided to call him, he came out that day to give us a quote and we signed up that week with the job being completed shortly after. Very satisfied and will be using him again for our next job.

Where do i start with this guy?
It all started when they came out to quote our glass pool fence. After accepting a quote, I paid the deposit via bank transfer as per the invoice and this seems to be where all the trouble started. Apparently, my mind reading skills were off that day, and i was supposed to pay in cash, as it was supposed to be 'a cash job'.
From there, the holes were drilled for the metal spigots. Because they clearly have no idea what they are doing, t...hey managed to crack and wreck a portion of our brand new laid travertine. Instead of letting me know, i found it later that day. They claim they didn't see it at the time, which is just ridiculous. Instead of just fixing it without question, I passed on the details of the person who laid the tiles for them to contact to have it fixed. They never did and I had to chase it up myself and organise the repair. Great customer service Jims. It took about 9 months for ME to get it rectified.
Mike and the guys he had to help him this week were exceptional. They went beyond what you would expect and were such nice guys to boot! The work is also exceptional - I think Mike is a bit of a perfectionist and this certainly shows in the work. Great workmanship and would have no hesitation to recommend him to family and friends (and other neighbours).

Colorbond Gate installed by Jims Fencing Stanhope Gardens
Gate installed on 8th July 2020. Today is 11th Aug within a one-month gate screw start to come out. Contact franchisee owner multiple times via phone call and text messages. No professionalism and commitment to resolve issue.
Lap & Cap fence
Hey Jim, Just want to share my great experience with one of your franchisees ('John' from Jim's fencing - Maroubra). He recently did a lap and cap fence for my federation house and did such an amazing job. There were technical issues with water pipes and different levels of my neighbour's house to my house. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the best course of action to fix these technical issues while ensuring the fence looked perfect for me. I could tell he really had a passion for his job rather than trying to finish the job qu...ickly to make money. So refreshing seeing a man who loves his craft. He provided us with an accurate quote around the scope of work we requested. The fence and gate are exactly what we wanted and are excellent quality. He needed to problem solve as we live on a very steep block but the solution is very nice and functional. We are extremely happy with the new gate and fence

I dealt with Henry in the Botany area and couldn't have been more happy with the fence and the service provided by Henry and his 2 assistants. At every opportunity he explained what they were doing and why. He also spent time with me explaining how best to do certain areas of the fence and my wife and I are extremely pleased with the results. We requested that they leave the old fence and they stacked it neatly for us as well. NOTE Fence was a mix of colorbond and wood paling due to heritage requirements. Pictures are pre-lanscaping....
Why don't they ever get back to provide quotes?
After many tries to contact Jim's Fencing Camden for a simple job to fix a Colorbond fence they eventually replied. They then sent out an under-qualified contractor who just under-quoted us to get the business and then took our deposit and kept changing the start date. We had to chase him up to get the quote back as we didn't want to use him after all this run around. I then asked Jim's Fencing to send out a proper contractor who (reluctantly) came out to see the problem with our fence. He was rude (swearing), arrogant (made out the problem far...worse than it was) and then became very obnoxious when I asked him for a quote. Here's a tip Jim's Fencing, don't accept business if your contractors don't want the job. Tell us straight up if they don't want it rather than make us go through the hassle of putting up with these rude and arrogant individuals who make out like we are the problem. When the building bubble breaks you'll be begging for business.
Questions & Answers
We had a fence built with Jims fencing in January, paid our half (it is a boundary fence with neighbour). We have since tried to get a receipt. The fence contractor Adam Powell has not sent us a receipt for the money we have paid despite us asking by text, email. He isn’t responding to phone calls. We need the receipt. Can you help us or do we have to go to fair trading?
